It hurt for me as well going through this once again. Last time I struggled against Nyx, this time I trounced them thoroughly with many years of experience in RPGs but the one thing I couldn't change was how I wish he could have held a little longer to say farewell to everyone. This game handled that ending so well. The option to try to keep your eyes open, it was just so well done...
The fact that they're all smilling and laughing once they reach the balcony make this even worse. That's a top 10 image taken before disaster right there, I can't imagine how they reacted when they found out that Makoto just straight up dead right there

actually i hope they show us their reaction to makotos death in the DLC to show us how impactful was for them and how they manage to get over it and continue living

@@davidparedes1415 that's persona 3 FES, but I don't think they'll remake that part as a dlc. Fes had a lot of potential and there's some good things about it but it really is not that good.

I just realized something after replaying P3P again. The moment Makoto use the seal on Nyx he's on borrow time and he's slowly dying by that point. He should be dead way before March 5 but through his willpower and perseverance that he managed to hang on until graduation.
Yeah, he only survives just long enough to keep his promise (｡ŏ﹏ŏ)

I liked how they added Ken and Koromaru to the cerimony scene. Both were missing in the original game, but appeared in the movie at least.
Glad that they go some references from the movie too, with them running though the halls and stairs to reach the protagonist and Aigis.

Yeah. I felt like I wasn't gonna cry at the scene, but when we got the shots of Koro and Ken running to the school, of the whole group running towards the rooftop... It kinda broke me

They managed to make it even sadder, Persona 3's ending remains the best videogame ending of all time for me, and for years i've kept Aigis' speech as my favorite quote and the one which i use to define the meaning of life for me.

Aigis’ speech is so beautiful. Ever since I’ve beaten it, it’s been engrained in my brain. She has a lot of quotes that hit but “ not everything needs to be for some greater purpose. Just caring about someone can be enough, that’s all we need to give our lives purpose” hits me straight in the feels every time.
Makoto pushed through living without a soul for 2 months, just to fulfill the promise he made with the others.
Damn... Its been a few weeks since i finished and I'm currently playing through 5, yet I'm still sad

The Persona 2 ending is pretty dang sad too, tbh. Hopefully Atlus will remake both Persona 1 and 2 but it's unlikely, seeing as remaking Persona 2 would be bringing Adolf Hitler back to the Persona/Shin Megami franchise in current year.

Will always be my favorite ending to any game. Love how it tied into the the mythology of the Protag's Personas and Greek Tragedy as a whole. Also special shoutout to this rendition of Kimi No Kioku
The cost of the seal ability we used when fighting Nyx was all our health. Normally, Makoto should have died at that moment, but he held on to keep his promise to his friends.
This really brought tears to my eyes, knowing Makoto was dying, but happy that he was able to live to see the day he and his friends would remember their promise. I like the extra detail they had of Makoto wiping away Aigis’ tears.
Aigis: what I want is to protect you. To stay by your side, from now until the end of time

Elizabeth wants to find a way to free his soul trapped in the seal so that he can rest in peace, not resurrect him. He is already dead

Imagine Makoto will just be some kind of a spirit that will guide his friends and just shows up once they lost their way, and they would definitely feel his presence like a ghost

RIP Makoto Yuki, respect to Atlus for not trying to change the ending, they left it just as heartbreaking. I like that they had Ken and Koromaru present too, that was one of my favourite additions the P3 movies made.

This was just the most beautiful ending to a video game. You knew when all of his HP went into that last attack to defeat Nyx that he was going to die in some way shape or form. Not sure if he knew at the time that he was going to die, but he willed himself to fulfill his promise rather than die right there. He remembered it all right along with Aigis. And the fact that as she was saying all of those things, you could tell that it either occurred to her during that, or she already knew, that he was dying. And so she protected him by making him feel like he wasn't. And the last thing he saw was his protector watching over him keeping him safe.

Welp, here we are again fellas.
Biggest fear of dying is no one being there or caring. It's so brutal yet comforting to think that even if everyone else in SEES had forgotten about Makoto, Aegis would still be there to reassure him in his final moments. That alone, to me at least, justifies what happened in the original version of The Answer and likely why Makoto trusted her the most.
I still really like the ending in P3P, where the person you romanced (in S.E.E.S only) is the first one to reach you on the roof. But then again, that one was mostly a visual novel and this one needed animation for every possible endings.

What gets me the most is aigis and her voice changing from a robot to a human like she truly became a human
There is also a theory which states why aigis is crying it's probably because she can sense the life fading from him and she just cannot realise why

Now we need the dlc to start off with an animated scenes about what their reactions was when they found out makoto died. Add in the burial ceremony too, please ATLUS! That way, we would actually see how they were driven by makoto's death to come to a conclusion that they should see what actually happened
Considering Reload was narratively directed to connect the next numbered mainlines and spin offs continuation story, best guess potential the Answer DLC after credits epilogue will be the beginning of Arena. As Aigis' the focus, the post credits shows her preparing to save the hijacked plane Mitsuru and Labrys' container were in. Before heading out, she glances at the table holding Makoto's photo, evoker and MP3 set, promising she will return well.
I only just finished the game today, And god damn this really hit me in the heart, just knowing that they all remembered but couldn't make it to see Makoto one last time hits hard, He truly was a good friend and leader, RIP Makoto Yuki. Such a good character and an even better game.
My heart was broken into pieces, Atlus come here and fix this, give me the remake of Persona 4 ASAP.

What a game. One thing that stood out is the way the title screen and music changed after the credits. That had me just in awe, seeing his armband and evoker there in the empty classroom was emotional.

They put so much effort that the cutscenes and the graphic far better than P4 hahahaaa, i still dont get it, never play P3, but i read that Makoto died, but what after P3 i just confused, does he will be back again but he died
He won't be revived at all. He sacrificed himself for literally the entire world, like a Messiah.
This remake really needs The Answer for confused guys who can't understand what the great seal is
The Answer hopium will be released as DLC soon. But short answer, he will not come back. he sacrifice himself and become the seal to protect people from reaching out to Nyx (death). Elizabeth (the Velvet room handler of his) seems to think that she might find a way to save his soul and left for a journey (in the fighting arcade ending which is canon to the story)
