    I love The Shirelles but that's an incorrect statement at the 10:29 mark. "It was the first time any girl group, black or white, had hit the #1 spot." This would only be true if it said "during the rock & roll era." Or if it just left it as "first black girl group." Or even "a girl group who weren't sisters." Because, The Andrews Sisters did indeed have SEVEN hugely popular #1 singles in the USA, spanning from 1938 through 1949, and even before them, The Boswell Sisters had one #1 in 1935. The Shirelles are the third all-female group to reach #1, BUT the first black female group and the first rock-n-roll female group. Both distinctions are still tremendous achievements!

      Absolutely on the money thank you and the guy in the interview said the lyrics were written by females the lyrics were written by a male Gerry Goffin on Will you still love me tomorrow the music by Carole King his wife in 1960
