    I wonder how much less air enters through the fine mesh versus some of larger pattern offerings.

    Agreed, recessed with the honeycomb grill!! I put the exact same one on my Rally Blue and yes, it looks better in the shade.

    Just a heads up on the Hella Horn install - the horns are designed to be supplied with 12V which the factory horn harness cannot supply. They are quite a bit louder if you use a relay and power from the battery.

    Thank you for making these educational videos on the VB WRX. Sincerely appreciate you, HeavyMetalWRX, JoeyM, AFD, IIR, and others for delivering content that makes money from my wallet disappear LOL. The CS Grill: The frame looks way better than the sports grill. The frame interior of the sports grill looks way better than the mesh that exposes too much. Hella Horn: Excellent decision with black, flows with the theme. For my taste, the mesh exposes too much. I can already hear the argument that horns should be heard not seen. When it's done right it looks great and for your build, the combo works especially with the FMIC exposed. Nice work Cody.

    Thanks so much for the install vid on the Hella Horns! Been waiting for a good tutorial. What's that box cutter knife you used to open the horns? lol It looks dope!
    Love the channel, been watching you since the IIR days, great stuff!

    This new grill looks so good. I was hoping you'd go with something like this. I would like to see some screw on attachments to this grill kinda like the emblem attachment where you could customize the look of the grill even more. And fills in some of the gap cause to me its a huge opening.

    OEM sport grill looks best. If you like recessed look, paint matched looks better than black

    I have the same grill, and the mesh grill is fine, but was a little surprised how thin it felt. I have a uneasy feeling that maybe something that could chip the honeycomb will end up piercing the mesh. Hoping never find out, but echoing what was already stated in the video and comments.

      Yeah. Part of why I commented. I hate fine mesh grille material because it reminds me of when the only easily sourced metal mesh was at Home Depot. Just Google metal mesh for cars and various companies specialize and make awesome patterns, shapes, styles, colors.
      In Toronto a couple months ago an AMG65 (I only saw the front in a parking lot) had a dark iron color medium gauge weave in three air ducts up front. Looked absolutely killer.
      Why no one can figure these things out in Subie World is a mystery.

    I completely agree with you on the push back of the grill with the sports grill honeycomb would be top notch.

    How many times did you forget to plug the fog lights back in after taking the bumper off? I have twice so far😂

    • @StreetInspired1
      @StreetInspired1  Год назад +1

      I think I've had my bumper off 9 times now, and I've actually never forgot to plug them back in. But worse... I forgot to unplug them one time and can't believe I didn't screw them up because I pulled the bumper away from the car and it just literally pulled the wires and popped the clips off. I hate how short the wiring is. You don't have much room to work with. Lol

      @@StreetInspired1 more airflow to "cool" the back of the engine lol

    • @StreetInspired1
      @StreetInspired1  Год назад

      @FunTimeWithSouls it's a huge conspiracy lol. I did a video a while back on my VA wrx using a hood scoop block off plate. Some people claimed the open scoop lowered the efficiency of the Intercooler and Radiator and resulted in higher Temps. My old tuner however argued the opposite. However I found that blocking it off had almost no affect whatsoever on intake or coolant temp. I may rig something up for the hood scoop. To supply air to an oil cooler or something else. I'll have to see!

    • @FunTimeWithSouls
      @FunTimeWithSouls Год назад

      @@StreetInspired1 I always wanted to make something that would attach to the inside of the scoop and route the air to the intake so your getting a lot more airflow and possibly colder air.

    The mesh is too fine. Go back years and there were few places to get anything near automotive grade mesh material, so people used what they could find at Home Depot. Best VB grille remains gloss black OEM.
    For all the modding of Subarus, very little aftermarket items improve them. I retrofit a an 07 Liberty GT Spec B (also Legacy STI) grille in my 06 Outback for this reason. Easily the best ever and people were most.impresses because it was OEM and shouldn't have fit an 06.
    Best grille on any WRX was Subaru's GD RB320 Richard Burns tribute car. Some people joked it looked like chicken wire, but it was a popular grille mesh that German brands including some AMG cars sported. It was silver on black, though. Still, loved it (and R Burns ❤)
