22:59 the trivet is my favorite!! I thought it was a mirror without the the glass but you turned it over and I immediately knew it was a trivet! Great find, Austin!!! 👏🏻
    Nice design on it too!

I can feel by the sound of your voice that you're not really enjoying relics hunting. It could be really annoying finding just rubbish or yesterday antiques but once you find really old coin or relics, everything changes and I promise you, you're going to get hooked. I love watching your videos but if every video is the same old same it becomes boring. This relics hunting is different and I can't wait for another video. Happy hunting mate and big hello from Australia 🇦🇺

Hey Austin. This kind of stuff is exactly what you’ll find at an old homesite. Like another post states, you’ve removed a lot of metal junk from the ground-this should open up the way to deeper coins and other non ferrous items. I’d go back, make sure D is with you, wear gloves, and take some deet spray with you. Pick a spot, maybe 10’ square, search it and listen for those deep target whispers. HH!

      Thanks for the good info!
It's been a fun change and I will continue to look for new areas like this and probably go back to this one too.
I don't know exactly what this place was but I know multiple buildings stood there in the 1950s when I got access to the first aerial photo.
I don't know how long they were there prior but they stood until around the 90s which I think is why I'm seeing a lot more modern trash mixed with the older stuff.
I really enjoy this kind of detecting though, it's really more of an adventure.

The silver dime I found near an old homestead like that here in Inverness was very deep, barely heard it with the Legend at max depth. I would deffinately come back and after removing as much surface metal as I could in a gridded area I would take my deepest machine over it to look for silver that might be masked. You found the hinge and key to an old Spanish Treasure chest now just got to hope who ever came back and dug it back up dropped a few of the coins on his way out of there, LOL. Some times old homesteads are built on top of older homesites. Find an area that produces the oldest stuff and maybe you might get lucky with an old coin or two.

5:30 Whatever it is, I could be wire brushed and cleaned up and turned into a handheld mirror, or something like that, VERY COOL find. EDIT: my trick to field cleaning what I believe is old copper is to use one of those Scratch brass pens. Sold at harbor fright and such,

Might be a little Johnny Boy special!
I was at the park detecting a long while ago and a guy started talking to me, turns out he metal detects himself. Had a good conversation with him.
About a week later at that same park under a tree I found a 1964 silver Washington quarter about half an inch down.
Coincidence? or that guy was looking out for me!
Don't think I've found a silver coin since then. 😂😂

Yeah, this guy was looking out for ya, no doubt. 👻🤣

That crusty coin could clean up with either Cocacola/COKE or Vinegar soak it a few hours it works on most ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Yep that pot stand is missing the ceramic/porcelin plate . Getting outside your comfort zone can be rewarding and that's what a few detectorists fail to do they get too used to, the same old ground and flog the guts out of it. Nothing ventured Nothing gained. Cheers Mate👍👍👍😎💨🏴‍☠☮☮☕☕💡😊🔧
