It's like California, you can find some exciting, fun and amazing places and some horrible places like skid row, south central, Oakland and San Fran poop sidewalks. Overall, Guatemala es greener, more colorful, more cultural, more interesting, fun, diverse, cleaner and less crowded and less dangerous than califirnia. The outdoors activities, great frindly people and affordable housing, food and transportation are a big plus for Guatemala also. I will leave California soon and seriously considering to live my older years in Guatemala. ✌️
Guatemala is better. My son lives in Philly and I don't like it. Just the weather and natural wonders of Central America are unmatched by any other place in the US, with maybe Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands as rare exceptions. But having a relaxed, traditional and clean living, exotic gastronomy, fresh air (Two oceans a few miles from each other and the second largest forest natural lung in the Americas, second only to the amazon) Plus eco hot spots and hundreds of endemic flora and fauna) etc, are magical. Virginia and Pensylvannia forests can also be amazing as other natural wonders found in the north east usa, but at a staggering cost, price, time consuming and painstaking effort, traffic not included. Crime, homelessness and drug infested sectors of the north east usa will get worse not better. Central America has its challenges too, but I will pass the north east, thanks. I know it can be good for someone else. Just my long life opinion. ✌️

The supposed bad propaganda that Guatemala had (as an ally of Israel before and today) is having defeated the guerrilla and Soviet communist invasion in a civil war that lasted 30 years. The Guatemalan army defeated the Soviet communist invaders and mainly with the help of our friends and allies of ISRAEL. You have to know the history of some place before foolishly feeling unsafe somewhere. In Guatemala everyone is welcome RESPECTING its history and cultural diversity

It lacks respect for a country that welcomes you with noble people from ancient indigenous cultures, with that cultural, ethnic and gastronomically diverse and unique in America, where 50% of its population is Mayan influence, from a civilization from 1500 BC to 250 AC with archaeological remains in the discovery of Science and Architecture, and are you saying that you can feel panic of insecurity in its capital? You don't know America? and you come from a country of crime and drugs, for example, Vancouver, ohh. Don't look for danger in Guatemala, you have it at home.
