I bought an offbrand steamer. It looks just like the bissel except for the grout cleaner. My issue with my machine is the difficulty getting the steam cap on and off. I have arthritis so this makes it more difficult. It could be that I am not getting the cap on correctly. I wish the water container was see-through so I can tell much water is in there before I add more. I know. I have high expectations. 😁
Please be aware that there has been a recall regarding multiple models of the Bissell Steam Shot. This goes back quite a few years. Details can, no doubt, be found online. Safety first!!
Great demo and review , love my hand steamer . I have the shark and use unit all the time to clean . This video gave me a few more tips of what I can clean with it thank-you 👍👍
Thanks so much. I mean this is for smaller jobs and it's light and quick. Dupray is still my favorite but sometimes you just need something quick and easy. The Dupray can mop, reach further, has the triangle tool to cover more surface area (like a whole shower). Plus you don't need to hold down the steam trigger. You can push a button on the handle and it stays on. So it really depends on budget and how you clean. If it's short and more frequent then the Bissell. If you're doing more deep cleaning for longer than 20 minutes and want to mop, the Bissell will get tedious to keep refilling. Hope that helps!
Re water for the charcoal model ~ there is confusion about the amount of water to use (Amazon said 12 oz, Bissell manual said 6 oz. I called Bissell, the day only 6oz.
Yes, it would work well for that. I would use the nylon brush with a microfiber cloth over it to prevent scratching. If you have a lot of cupboards and the budget a larger one will be much faster (we could recommend one) and use a triangle tool. We have a video where I demo cleaning cabinets with another steam cleaner. Check it out here ruclips.net/video/SDZXejD_Tis/видео.html and there’s a link in the description to the steamer I used. You don’t have to hold down the button to get steam. It locks on. That will save you on bigger cleaning jobs. And you won’t have to refill and wait for it to heat up again like on this smaller one.
I’m curious if your required to put the water in tepid or room temp? I wonder if tackling a larger or grimier area if you could have a warmed kettle on for refills to speed up the “heating” time in unit, I’m not suggesting a whistling kettle but one that got up say when you first started the task with tap and then was turned off and sat waiting to refill unit. Any thought? Thanks for the video!
Actually yes! You can start with hotter water and it’ll take less time to heat up. I’ve been doing that more when I use tap water. Just turn the faucet as hot as it can get first.
@@CleanFreakGermaphobe thanks so much for the reply! Have you noticed any calcium or hard water build up using tap over distilled? I would think using a touch of vinegar in the water could address that, thoughts?
Does not putting the extender make the steam that comes out hotter? I put the pointy thing on and it doesn't seem very hot unless I put my hand very close.
Yes any attachment that takes water further away from the boiler in the center also cools it. A larger machine like the Dupray Neat will get hotter and hold more water. cleanfreakandgermaphobe.com/dupray-neat-steam-cleaner/ but it's more pricey.
Great question! A full size steam cleaner such as the Dupray Neat can clean much longer between refilling the water tank, has attachments like a steam mop and can hold much more water. Follow this link cleanfreakandgermaphobe.com/dupray-neat-steam-cleaner/ to learn more and to get the link to the Neat. I've had mine for several years. I use it for longer deep cleaning and for my car. I use the Bissell for quick jobs.
The steam will soften and could spread it out. If is getting out small amounts embedded into a hard surface, then yes. There are better methods like a carpet cleaner for soft surfaces.
I bought one from aliexpress as it was cheaper. I bought it to removed the chalk buildup onbour shower door which was quite satistfying.. it removed it without a problem.. Unfortunately, after an hour of use, it stopped steaming.. returned it and got redunded.. im definitely buying thia one next time..
I wonder if you got a defective one because mine isn't like that. It has more water when starting up. But yeah it doesn't last very long, however I think it's longer than that. I use it for quick jobs.
Seems like these reviews always choose places and things unusably filthy so any steamer would produce results better then how it looked originally but what about normal households that don't have a bunch of filthy...how does the steamer work on everyday dirt not filth from abandoned or empty apartments.. That's the true test.
These machines are used exactly on those occasions. It only lasts 15 minutes, you cannot use it for everyday cleaning. Their use is for stubborn dirt. I only use it when I have to clean things like the hood metal filters, for other, more often uses you should use those which can be refilled without having to unplug them.
It works great in everyday dirt. I use it to clean the bathrooms and they’re pretty clean. In my most recent video I showed using it on everyday things. Like the spill in the microwave or on the shower.
Wow, I never thought of using it on upholstery. Thanks for that tip.
Could you demo how to use Bissell to clean the shower track? Thanks

Hi! Thx for the video! How hot is the steam? I've seen many people putting a hand in front of it and complaining that the steam is practically cold :(
I have bought 2 and im returning them because they were cold , I think they are having serious manufacturing issues with these now

Came here to say this as well!

Thanks for your comment, Shark is great too. We've only stopped using ours this year. Because we found the magic of a vacmop.
What if the steam doesn’t come out
Great video! Can you compare it with Dupray steamer especially for bathrooms?
Thanks so much. I mean this is for smaller jobs and it's light and quick.

Thanks for the demonstration! Do you know if it’s possible to buy extra round brushes? I need to replace mine. Thank you
Yes On eBay . KEEPOW steam cleaner accessories for Bissel. 16 USD
Can we add vinager and clorum?
Re water for the charcoal model ~ there is confusion about the amount of water to use (Amazon said 12 oz, Bissell manual said 6 oz. I called Bissell, the day only 6oz.
What about smelly couches?
Have you tried the Bissell three in one? I wondered if the handheld part works as well as he steam shot? 🤔
Make sure the machine has cooled down before taking the cap off to refill.
Mine does not spray hot water. Luke warm at best
Can you use this to take grease off of kitchen cabinets ?
Yes, it would work well for that. I would use the nylon brush with a microfiber cloth over it to prevent scratching. If you have a lot of cupboards and the budget a larger one will be much faster (we could recommend one) and use a triangle tool.

Yes
Thank you for sharing the cons!

I have bought 2 and they blow out cold air, any one else have this issue

I'd personally not use this around electronics TBH.
I'd love a comparison between a damp cloth with detergent and this too.
The cup hold 6 oz not 2 cups
Do you unplug the steamer after it heats up I'm bit nervous using it around water with electricity..thanks if anyone can let me know please..😊
You don't have to unplug it, but you can if you want since the steam is already built up
@@cricka09 thank you 😊
Never had a problem - as long as you're not using around electrical outlets or lines. If you unplug then you lose steam and that's the cleaning power.
Thanks! Picked one up (via your link!) 😃
Thank you so much, you'll love having it!

Can this item be used for dog accidents, manly poo?

How do you know when it runs out of water? And when to Keep refilling? I'm a new subscriber. 😊

Sold!
❤
Bought it 2 years ago. Hate it. The tank is way too small.
It’s for smaller jobs for sure.
Do you ever use it or just record your cleaning lady
Ha ha! It’s a friend’s house not my cleaning lady! I use it all the time but my house never gets dirty enough to show a big difference.
My steamshot lasts 2 minutes and 20 seconds before it runs out of steam 😭 Mine is brand new. So much water everywhere. More water than steam.
I wonder if you got a defective one because mine isn't like that. It has more water when starting up. But yeah it doesn't last very long, however I think it's longer than that. I use it for quick jobs.
Neither mine. It works fine

Well it supposedly sanitizes

water is a chemical. everything is a chemical
You are correct, if we’re being technical but water isn’t usually toxic or bad for the environment.
