Obviously an expert in his field, but didn't come off as pretentious or a know it all. Wish I lived in the Chicago area so I could check out JP Grazianos!
Ice cream sandwich in the fifth round is your big bodied DH that will mash a ball into the galaxy as the first four picks just hit. Grilled cheese is the triple, chicken parm is chilling after hitting a double down the line, gyro is your streaky hitter who happened to sneak a single in and your PB&J led off with a absolute bomb
this might not be a huge thing in the middle of the country since they’re so far from the water but a good crab cake sandwich is absolutely fantastic, if you go to the beach and you find a restaurant that looks like a shanty from the outside but is really cool on the inside. chances are they have a good crab cake sandwich or maybe even a blackened tuna sandwich
No one has ever said, hey I'm going to go grab me a sandwich. Then come back with a cheeseburger. By definition I get it, but grabbing a burger and grabbing a sandwich. Two separate things.
How does Cheeseburger not get vetoed? I've seen vetoes for far less. Any menu separates burgers from sandwiches. You could literally do a snake draft of best types of burgers. Great draft, but big oversight
The real talk of this draft is how 2 Italians went 1-2 and another at pick 12. They have built a really great program and are truly making a big impact on this league.
Definitely have left a place and thought that was a great Buffalo sandwich and then specifically returned for the sandwich. You definitely can mess it up. Also I like it wayyy better than Nashville hot.
Not sandwich exactly, but since we are talking about Graziano's -The cannoli from Graziano's vs the cannoli from D'amato's - a complete Chicago food coma afternoon. The sfogliatelle from Mariano's isn't completely trash but you have to get it when they make it because they let it get soggy.
Sandwich - An item of food consisting of two pieces of bread with Meat, cheese, OR other filling....PB&J is a filling. Cheese can be grilled in a sandwich form. A peice of meat, cheese and other fillings (onions, lettuce, tomato, etc). It's people just being particular.
Grilling a pb&j is definitely an overlooked addition but it's fucking great. Not something you do every time, but if you're at home eating one instead of on the go I highly recommend it.
out here in new york is where it was born and bred the bagel gets flak because it’s a misconception in a way because it’s how the dunkins of the world do it we are onto like level 8 of BECs in NY it’s almost a reflex to add the hash brown patties inside the saltpepperketchup i personally also throw in hot sauce, it’s a hard hard miss here
Holy crap, Ed DUMMIED this draft. Not even close. I don't want to hear ANYONE rag on pb&j or grilled cheese. Ed was the smartest, by far, in this draft. ICE CREAM SANDWICH. I mean. C'mon, some absolute genius there. I just loved Ed's draft. PS. Where do all the Ice Cream Sandwich haters come from!? One of the greatest foods, ever....
Honorable mentions...Fried Pork Tenderloin (shoutout to Iowa and Indiana), Tuna Salad / Tuna Melt, Baltimore Pit Beef (with tiger sauce and raw onions), Leftover Meatloaf Sandwich, and one the favorites in my family when packing a lunch, sliced summer sausage, cheddar, butter and horseradish.
I can't believe all the Chicago guys didn't pick a Ricobenes breaded steak . Like come on how did that not make the list . I'm surprised shwarma too didn't make the list
I wanna know if J has gotten the “Biggie” from Burt’s Deli in Libertyville. Such a great sandwhich. Pastrami corned beef on rye, just to die for. Check it out if y’all headed north sometime
Personally I don’t think a cheeseburger is a sandwich. Technically it fits the definition. But to me a burger is a burger and a sandwich is a sandwich. Nobody thinks cheeseburger off the top when you think of sandwiches
@116:08 -- when Jim is describing Cemita sandwhich, I bet WSD was googling for a picture of a Cemita sandwhich with red cabbage - why can’t WSD ever just say, oh yeah I was wrong, why????
If you ever get good authentic Brisket in TX it will always come with White Bread, Onions, Pickles, and you eat it as an open or closed face sandwich. A meat forward sandwich sure, but Chief was way off saying just the meat alone.
Jim picking Roast Pork then immediately naming off Dynex and John's lets me know he knows what the fuck he's talking about. Definitely a sandwich savant. Nobody picked arguably the greatest sandwich a steak bahn mi! edit: Oh they talk about it at the end.
I’m sorry but when you think of sandwich, you definitely don’t think cheeseburger. You’re not going to go into a deli and ask for a cheeseburger, just like you’re not going to go into a burger place and ask for a sandwich.
“That smell is not beef it’s SAHSAUGE” great quote by Jim
I've listened to that part 4x's. I'm from the south so I respect accents and this might be my favorite.
I didn’t know I loved Jim so much but he’s a guys guy and sandwich connoisseur.
Obviously an expert in his field, but didn't come off as pretentious or a know it all. Wish I lived in the Chicago area so I could check out JP Grazianos!
Absolutely baffling that Carl has never heard of a chicken parmesan sandwich before
Very disappointing
It’s a chicken Parm hero*
"I'm not going to be dramatic" ....3 seconds later..."Italian beefs are bigger than the sandwhich." lmfaooo
Haha
*sandwich
@@Mrbink01 binked me!
I love how Dave makes fun of a grilled cheese first round then takes a BBQ brisket sandwich man he is dumb 😂
Man is hard to listen to most of the time

Jim was amazing in this. So awesome to have someone who knows exactly how the draft works
this might not be a huge thing in the middle of the country since they’re so far from the water but a good crab cake sandwich is absolutely fantastic, if you go to the beach and you find a restaurant that looks like a shanty from the outside but is really cool on the inside. chances are they have a good crab cake sandwich or maybe even a blackened tuna sandwich
Carl’s Chicago accent gets so deep when he talks Italian Beefs
Feels like a Lobster Roll and a Po Boy were big misses here
lobster roll a draft winner if it goes in the fifth
lobster roll debatably in the hot dog style/non sandwich category. Po Boy huge missed opportunity tho
@@davidalpeter9963 can agree with that for sure
and a Bahni Mi
@@alessandroscuderi7300 bahn mi is a first round pick for anyone who's experienced, these aint those guys lol

WSD is insanely hilarious.
Laughed my ass off at the Brisket sandwich one
@@johnstafford9884
WSD: first round is way too early for grilled cheese.
Also WSD
I gotta go with BBQ Brisket sandwich first round.
😅😅😅😂😅😂is
The Cuban Sandwich in the 3rd round is unbelievable value.
No one has ever said, hey I'm going to go grab me a sandwich. Then come back with a cheeseburger. By definition I get it, but grabbing a burger and grabbing a sandwich. Two separate things.
I get that argument - but let's be honest, a hamburger IS a type of sandwich - yes the best kind, but it is still a kind of sandwich.....
I agree with this . I would put burgers in a category of its own
If pulled pork and brisket are allowed, both of which are served on buns, then a burger must be included.
@@Mrbink01 I just think it doesnt belong in this draft
How does Cheeseburger not get vetoed? I've seen vetoes for far less. Any menu separates burgers from sandwiches. You could literally do a snake draft of best types of burgers. Great draft, but big oversight
Jim just seems like a very wholesome dude. Would love to down a beef and GTLF with him and Carl
I guess sandwiches are super regional, but it's kinda crazy that a corned beef or pastrami sandwich didn't go in the first round.
Dave was drafting soooo
Can't believe Patty Melt wasn't one of the picks. That's like a top 5 sandwich for me, iconic diner food sammich.
It's an iteration of a cheeseburger
Can’t believe they missed the day after thanksgiving sandwich!
Carl's annoyance over the allowance of a chicken parm sandwich has me dying right now haha
The real talk of this draft is how 2 Italians went 1-2 and another at pick 12. They have built a really great program and are truly making a big impact on this league.
1:21:19 When Jim says Borata I love the smirk Ed gives to Chief and then the camera lmao
Never opened up a menu and seen a cheeseburger listed under the sandwiches. Crazy 😂
Definitely have left a place and thought that was a great Buffalo sandwich and then specifically returned for the sandwich. You definitely can mess it up. Also I like it wayyy better than Nashville hot.
WSD loves Cuban sandwiches yet he thinks there is beef in it? SMH
My first reaction too
Breaded chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers on ciabatta or round roll oil and vinegar
Throw some creamy balsamic on there and you're set
I watch this episode every time I eat a sandwich
Currently doing the same thing
Burger is not a sandwich... it is just it's own category. That being said, these old drafts in the old office are all classics.
Deli/Rachel sandwich, super beef 3 way, chicken kabob sandwich, Thanksgiving leftover sandwich. So many more missed.
It blows my mind how WSD fights everything until it's his benefit to not fight it.
Jim knows what’s up. I am in disbelief that pork belly bahn mi wasn’t taken
I love how serious these guys are about this topic. missed out on jibaritos and pambazos. if gyro is a sandwich, can shawarma also be a sandwich?
A Cheeseburger is a burger, NOT a sandwich.
Honorable mention: crab cake sandwich, pastrami, shrimp po boy

They also sell Taylor ham at regular grocery stores 👍🏼

The McRib should’ve gotten a honorable mention
Carl always forms a rivalry with the “experts”. This one similar to the Frank the Tank matchup in the soda pop draft.
12:08 Carl, I wasn’t sure if I was the only one with that reaction
Also, Jim’s real name is Jim Sandler...He’s clearly Adam’s brother.
I don’t know why I am fascinated. I’ve got my board ready. Lets go
Idk about cheese burger....
Barbecue brisket is an awful pick lmao
PB and J and grilled cheese are simp picks. ED IS A SIMP
Best PB and J is wheat bread, crunchy PB, strawberry jam, toasted.....
Carl wins
Need Jim and Frank the Tank to start a video series called Sandwich Shops and Soda Pops
Grilling a pb&j is definitely an overlooked addition but it's fucking great. Not something you do every time, but if you're at home eating one instead of on the go I highly recommend it.

Love a good Thanksgiving leftover sandwich. Some places are doing em as a featured item now.
The way Ed is saying gyro is everything

If you go to the bodega/deli you get bacon egg and cheese on roll but if you go to the bagel shop it isn’t looked down on to get on bagel
You should add a link to the beef kit in the description.
I would just like to take credit for this idea. Posted it before anyone else.
Dude, Jim is the sandwich king and a great guest
2 years late but the roast pork with sharp prov and broc rabe is the legit local sando in Philly
Thought Dave absolutely fumbled with the brisket/nashville hot picks but the cubano/reuben picks saved him
Him not knowing ham is on there is lunacy

Congrats, boys!! Huge collab
penut butter sandwich with a glass of milk is such a winning combo. and i also dunked mine in milk. shoutout Chief and WSD

White bread on a bbq platter is mainly for sopping up the juices...not intended to make a sandwich out of it.

1:21:00 how tf to all of you pronounce caprese wrong? Cuh-preez-ee phonetically spelled
Peanut butter sandwich with a piece of cheese is unbelievable
Does Jim ship the beef kits?
I already thought WSD was dumb but he proves draft after draft how much dumber he is than i originally believed. Amazing.
Is a Gyro a sandwhich or a wrap though?
No Bahn Mi or Po Boy is ridiculous. Bahn Mi is such an under the radar sandwich.
Hell yeah Eddie! Franksville shout-out place has awesome Gyro sandwich!
Love the collab. Guys being guys 👏🏻
Chief is right. Brisket (in Texas) is a better meat but pulled pork sandwich is the right move
They totally missed out on the Banh Mi.
On most menus there are different sections for “sandwiches” and “burgers”. I don’t count a burger as a sandwich.
If a burgers a samdwich, then a hot dog should be a sandwich
