On August 1st, 2024, several regions in Tianjin were struck by a sudden and severe storm accompanied by hail, leading to significant damage in some areas. In the Binhai New Area, a large tree was uprooted by the violent storm and fell onto a roadside power pole, causing a major power outage that affected 30 buildings in the community.
