Your video just convinced me I need a Z stand in my life (I have the Kay's Creations floor stand, but have not been able to get in a good groove with it....) My question was regarding what to do with all the excess/rolled-up fabric to the left of my Q snap....but this answered my question-thank you! Now to find one at the best price! Great video!
I have the same stand. After the first day of my hand hitting the knobs since I stitch two handed too, I decided to put the left side in the clamp. Works great. Edited: I meant right lol Since my right hand stays under, the right side in the clamp. That way left hand on top has lots of room.
I think the dye lot problem with DMC is for those of us who are older stitchers. Some of my DMC is 40 years old so when I buy a new skein I have found colour difference a few times. I’ve learned to only use my older threads in an area where I know for sure I have enough.
Kismet! I found your channel and received my K creations lap stand today. Your demonstration of the stand will help me set up and get started. Thanks so much. New subbie here.
I do so enjoy all your projects you are a lovely stitcher. I also live In Canada winnipeg actually. You mentioned the krenik threads and how hard they are to thread the needle. I use a floss threader for them and it works very well for me. Look forward to your next video
So excited to hear they results of your experiment! I keep being drawn to parking but feel like it really slows me down. Look forward to what you find!
I love the Hallmark-esque movies! Last year, my husband bought me a plaid blanket that says "this is my Hallmark movie blanket". LOL. I have had a K's Creation floor stand for at least 15 years, and I love it. I have been considering a lap stand, so I appreciate all of your reviews on the lap stand. :)
Just love the pieces you are working on. Great idea you have with the storage box. Going to see if our plastic product shops here in South Africa have something like that. How did you manage to separate the selves on the Travel piece. I have the Fairytale chart I wanted to also do it by self but wasn't sure how see when the a selve ends. Have a lovely week further and warm blessing from a very hot yet lovely day in South Africa
Hi! Good luck finding the storage boxes. I think they will be very helpful. Separating the shelves was a very long and hard task. At the time I didn't have pattern keeper,I was using ezPDF so I actually had to zoom in and guess where the shelf was and look at the symbols. Now you'd have a much easier job with pattern keeper. Just color in where the shelf is and divide! Welcome and thanks for watching!
I was going to ask if you’ve tried Pattern Keeper, but you said you do. I’m on my first HAED project and don’t think I could’ve done this without that particular app. I don’t keep track of my number of stitches etc, but I’m a serial starter with a ton of WIP’s! 🤣🤣
Yes! I do use pattern keeper. That gives me my daily totals and project total but then the daily total disappears! What are you working on? Listen, I understand being a serial starter! 😆
Bonnie, I bought the same lap stand a couple of months ago but am just now seeing your video. I had to contact the maker for help because my q-snap got stuck! I couldn't even loosen the knobs. He asked me whether I had adjusted the long central screw in the clamp so that it "touched" the clamp, because that was designed to keep q-snaps from getting wedged in too tightly. Well, I did manage to get my q-snap and fabric out but I haven't used it again because his instructions regarding that long screw seemed so vague and weren't addressed at all in the assembly instructions I got other than in the diagram. Did you do something specific with that part of the clamp? Your demo was very helpful, by the way. If I get up the nerve (or find the need!) to try it again I'll definitely watch how I position those grooves over my q-snap.
Have you tried pattern keeper to keep count it tells you what you have stitched every day and starts over at midnight everyday love your stitching beautiful
Hi! Yes I use that to keep track of my Stitching everyday. I'm looking for something further that I can input that daily number into to give me a progress bar. So my projects are on one screen with their own progress bar. That way I can see them all at once to motivate me! With pattern kept you have to open each project to see the number. I keep a running tally currently in my Stitching journal.
Thanks so much! The boxes got in Canadian Tire, if you're not from Canada that's a hardware department store. The bag with the 4 floss boxes I got from Michaels!
I know this video is old, but maybe you’ll still see my question 😅 I love the way you organize your floss and it seems very logical and practical to me. I’m still struggling to find the right method for me, so this is very helpful. I only have one concern with your method: I heard that dye lots can change quite a bit and you that should buy all the floss for a certain project at once. If you use all your floss on multiple projects at once, aren’t you worried that the different dye lots could mess up the outcome of your projects?
Hi! Hmmm, it is a worry sometimes, but really only when I'm stitching an area with a big block of one color. And most of the time, 1 skein will cover an area even a large one. Then the other area of that same color is far enough away so you can't notice a dye lot issue. That's my thought anyway. I could be wrong!
Hello Vani, your stitching is gorgeous, world travel bookshelf is going to look amazing when its finished. I have the treasure hunt bookshelf in the mini version, and I'm wondering whether it would be ok stitched on 18ct instead of 25ct, as im currently stitching a haed on 25ct, and i love how it looks but I'm struggling a bit, and thats with a magnifyer and good lighting! Do you think it would lose a lot of detail on 18ct? Would love your opinion 😊
Hi Sue! I think you will be fine stitching it on 18 count. I've seen many detailed patterns done on 18 count that came out beautifully. I stitched Mini Silent Night Lane on 18 count. I think I showed it in my first video. Loved how it turned out. Good luck! I would love to hear how you make out with it!
So all your dmc. Fits in the 4 boxes. Hhh boy I had dye lot was doing a sue colman raven and a huge mess when I couldn’t match at all. Ended up frogging it and restarting a huge section. Oh I comment3d a few videos ago as just found you and am starting from beginning.are the clubs canadian?
Yes, I've heard a lot about dye lot problem. I myself haven't come across it yet. I'm hoping to get DMC cones of the more regular colors like 310. The clubs you refer to, the fabric of the month? No they aren't Canadian unfortunately.
I love your floss organization! Do you have stock of all DMC colors or just those required on all your WIPs? As always awesome video and looking forward to the next one 😊
At this point I probably have all of them! I've never actually checked. I've only had to replace commonly used colors! And I bought the new colors as well so there's that!
The Postcard is my favourite Hallmark Christmas movie, I cry every time.
I will have to look it up!
Your videos are EXCELLENT. Thank you.
Thank you for watching! 🥰

Interesting, good to know!
Love the way you organize your floss...always great to see how other stitchers organize. Have a blessed week.
Thank you for sharing your projects, ideas, and plans...love The Bookshelf! Looking forward to seeing you again....
Thank you for sharing the way that you organize your floss. Love the Wips that you showed. Beautiful fabric. Really behind :D. Take care
Thank you so much!
I have the same lap stand!!!🤗 I love mine.....wonderful channel I am glad I came across your videos .....beautiful stitching!
I'm glad you find me too! Thanks for watching!
Really really great idea and System. Oh, and I have the K stand. Love it! Love it Love it.
Thanks! The k stand is really great! Happy Stitching!
Hi Vani! Can't wait to see the results of your challenge. Love your two projects so much that you showed today!
First time watching, great descriptions of everything, thank you! And good luck finishing that one.
Thank you so much for showing how you organize your floss! I just started my first HAED, so organization has been important.

Thanks for watching!

Awesome video! Your floss organization is brilliant, I might have to do that myself 😂
It works great!
Hi Voni! New subscriber to your channel! Looking forward to catching up and seeing your future vids. Kevin in Florida (US)

Did the tote bag come with the floss boxes? Where did you buy it? It's perfect!
Hi! I got it at Michael's. It came with a matching accessory bag, not the fluid boxes. I think it was meant for that though.

Yea, there's ways around it for sure.
