I'm just wondering why you call it cross country? To me its not cross country at all because you are confined to the diagonal area. Nothing against your stitching but i just dont see it as cross country. I would like to see the back and how you end your threads.

You are doing an amazing job with the advent stitching, please don't stress! Also Die Hard is definitely a Christmas movie, as it being a Christmas party is ESSENTIAL to the entire plot of the movie, and it wouldn't work without it. In fact, it's far more of a Christmas movie than It's a Wonderful Life, which just happens to end on Christmas. Anyway, have a great time with your family and Merry Christmas!
