Previously, all military recruits received a lifetime pension.
The Agniveer law changes this by requiring a 4-year service period, after which recruits are evaluated and either continue in active service or move to staff positions with a salary.
INDI wants to scrap this new law and revert to a system where the military functions more like a typical government job without merit and permanent benefits.
      INDI is gone crazy!!

This agniveer scheme was pushed by a certain saboteur/grifter who is the nephew of subramaniam swamy and pretends to be a defense analyst. he was pushing "modernization of defense forces". BJP needs to shun these americanized social media opportunists or they will destroy everything that hindus have fought for not only since rise of BJP but over centuries. They are just nehruvian impostors within "RW".
This particular grifter was against defense indigenization due to his closeness to outfits based out of the US. That alone should have raised red flags. They always propose american solutions that just won't work in India.
This americanized group was also proposing for BJP to shy away from caste equations by attacking jati as antimodern and proposing american style presidential campaigns. Listening to them will result in a rout for BJP next time.

Then you did not try very hard:
      1. The military equipment is becoming more tech oriented than personnel focused. Less soldiers, more quality.
      2. Each time a new equipment is developed/acquired it comes with a skill tree that keeps only the young people ready. Ex, if you never used Google maps to explore unfamiliar places, Uber/Ola is harder for you. Same thing with controllers modelled after Xbox controllers, vr headsets and 3rd person perspective.
      3. Since the Vietnam war, only two styles have won out. A super technical army that can level a country in minutes and a meat grinder that sacrifices people for attrition. Which one is better?
      4. What happens if our army is filled with 35-50 yos who are unable to adapt to highly technical equipment?

Look how us plays game when it finds ally in trouble, look Ukrainian model. Ukraine is test field for both super power where they r testing 30 years of tech modernization.
U should re think before MAKING SUCH big big policy changes just because u can not increase 10 billion dollar defence budget.

      4. Which army can take on a variety of forces?
      5. Which army can handle a multi front war?
      6. Which army sacrifices its people, let alone soldiers?
      7. What kind of headcount is needed by each side to win a war?

In a pre industrial agrarian society such as ours any reform with a long term trickle down effect is very difficult to implement because most people do not have a viable source of income and as such people won't accept it as it calls for some sort of a sacrifice which people can't afford. Sad but true. Good conversation

*My proposal for modification in Agnipath Scheme*
*Age Limit for application*:- 17 Years 3 Months to 20 Years 9 Months
After being selected as an Agniveer:-
    *Stage 1*
    9 Month training
Initial Age bracket (In years):- 17.25 to 20.75
    Final Age bracket (In years):-
    18 to 21.5
    *Stage 2*
39 Months deployment as per the requirements of the Indian army 🪖
Initial Age bracket (In years):- 18 to 21.5
    Final Age bracket (In years):-
    21.25 to 24.75
    *Stage 3*
Provision for extension of 2 years
Initial Age bracket (In years):- 21.25 to 24.75
    Final Age bracket (In years):-
    23.25 to 26.75
Those who don't opt for the extension will get a guaranteed position in the central forces of Bharat.
    *Stage 4*
2 Year extension for maximum 85 % of the Agniveers who have completed their stage 3.
Initial Age bracket (In years):- 23.25 to 26.75
    Final Age bracket (In years):-
    25.25 to 28.75
Those who are not selected for the extension will get a guaranteed position in the central forces of Bharat.
    *Stage 5*
Permanent enrolment into the Armed Forces, of maximum 85% of the Agniveers who have completed their stage 4.
Initial Age bracket (In years):- 25.25 to 28.75
Those who are not selected for the extension will get a guaranteed position in the central forces of Bharat.
    *Benefits*:-
    1) Indian army will get young personnel of age bracket (18 to 28.75 years) reducing the average age of Indian army from it's current figure of 32- 33 years to below 30 years.
    2) After each stage, some portion of the Agniveers will go back, most of them would go to the Central forces and the remaining ones would assimilate in the society where it is made sure that they are well off due to the Seva Nidhi package given under the Agniveer Corpus fund, created by the Government of Bharat. These Agniveers who will be assimilating in the society will still be young enough to build their career from scratch, equipped with mental strength and discipline required to succeed in today's fast- paced world.
    3) The central forces will benefit from the experienced, battle- hardened Agniveers which would not require rigorous training unlike the other fresh recruits in the central forces. This will also save the finances of the central forces which could then be used instead in the modernization of the weapons and strengthening of the systems in place.
    4) Agniveers who are even left out after a certain stage will constitute a skilled backup force in case of a war like situation or in case of Internal strifes/ Natural calamities/ Pandemics & Epidemics, etc.

It's not possible to scrap it.
OROP drains a lot of Indian Defence budget. It cannot be continued forever. Additionally, Police reforms haven't been done in over a hundred years. Agniveer is meant to serve both these purposes. Manpower needs to be cut down, diverted to other paramilitary forces, retrained, and kept engaged till the age of 50+. That is why Agniveer was introduced.

I maybe be biased but idk I find his analysis very selective and when he was asked that this person is stating benefits of agniveer then he side lined the agreement very conveniently, also he stated a historical battle, maybe he is right but I don't think the senas while fighting with britishers will see that ki unko pension kitni milrr hai ya salary kitni milre hai, and also he said avg age toh Kam hojaegi but, jo lead krega uss unit ko uski age toh vo he rahega and sab uske pace se he kaam karenge, and thodi deer baad he said ki 35 age is the peak age for endurance and vagera vagera,, toh obv unit toh uske leader k pace pr chalegi, but who said ki pace kam hojaega ya Jada hojaega? Agveer aane k baad, and finally the study he quoted the amount of benefits from agniveer scheme (20 yrs mai 2lakh crore something) should be reviewed .

    - I see Army personal Buying kitchen Items in local market
    - I see Army personal Driving their officers
    - I see Army personal Helping in emergency situation
This Agniveer people are just Workers they not needed to be involve in Risk Situation
I have heard so many service man just doing gardening of bungalow so i think they are better as after some year he will be out this way upper level officer cant keep permanent Gardener
and yes This Upper level personal are pushing back Agniveer as their Status is at risk .. think about it if Agniveer which is retired can say anything about their superior officer .. normal Service man can not complain ..
Remember that one Army man Complain over his food .. What is is status of him.. one cared ..

My maternal uncle is serving in Army.. he is diagnosed with heart disease and he is posted in Leh... Would he defend the country against foreign aggression? I think.. No. But Is he taking care of his family with regular income? Absolutely... Yes. Now the government and citizens have do decide... What is the motto of Defence forces?

We need to reduce our army size but agniveer is not the solution. Plus those who come out of service should be transitioned into police force. This will raise fitness of our police force too and the army men will also have a good civilian life.

Though I am also in favour of scheme reform however Mujhe pata nahi aisa kyun lag raha hai k guest ye Batana chah rahe hain k military man normally kuchh karna nahi chahte bas paise and job security se hi military join rate hain. Positive side ye bhi ho sakta hai k 25% me aane k liye vo 4 year apna best dega and jab vo select ho jayega to ek Bahut hi deciplined shoulder ban k nikle.

I felt as if data is presented that way it would look like an anti Agniveer podcast. At least at two instances the argument is contrary. You should also invite an intellectual who is in favour of Agniveer. This would have the right prospects.

Good podcast, Col Singh gave every kind of arguments against Agniveer, some convincing and some not so. Now try to bring a guest, former armed forces personnel, who argues FOR agniveer. You can counter him with Col Singh's points.
Also could not find the studies he was quoting on ORF and IDSA website, if anyone find those papers, kindly share the link in the comments reply.
    Thanks

loved the interview, if you look at age of athletes who break world records they are mostly in their 30s so 30s is more resilient than 20s, additionally the age of unit might decrease but so does the wisdom
