    "Hold on while I unscrew my knife!"

  • @atherisgreen1391
    @atherisgreen1391 9 лет назад +65

    The knife is cool, but why in the hell would you ever need to unscrew your knife? Why is there a rubber o-ring on the hilt if the sheath has a drainage hole at the bottom? That defeats the whole reason to having a seal. It's like this knife was designed by a genius and an idiot together.

      Chandler Hermansen Nope. Military will be in a shitstorm if they do so much as being seen holding a tri-dagger. The Geneva Convention bans it.
      It has the same name as the sf unit because the creators thought it will sound cool, but it has no connection to the unit whatsoever.

    • @MeisterSexy11

      TheApokaliptic why are tri edged blades banned? And can one use one at home for self defense?

    • @TheApokaliptic
      @TheApokaliptic 9 лет назад +5

      MeisterSexy11 They are banned for military use because their purpose is to make wounds that are difficult to sanitate/heal and it is unethical to do that.
      The best common weapon for home defense is a shotgun. If you can't get a firearm it is best to have a short two handed sword like a wakizashi. If it has to be a knife the best one is a bowie.
      Tri-daggers are not practical. Whether any of these objects is legal to own depends on the laws in your country.
      If everything else is not an option a baseball bat is pretty useful and it is sports equipment, it should be legal.
      If you can afford this tri-dagger, you can also afford something more practical instead.

    When I was a young man I spoke with my girlfriend's grandfather who was a surgeon in WWII. He showed me several different bayonets that were used by the Germans in the war. He wanted to know what was making the wounds so he saved them. The last one he showed me was a three-sided bayonet blade that he said made the worst wounds for him to work on at the time.

    I need a JagdKommando OTF auto! I think MT should build one as a display item, full size. Imagine the spring it would take and the kick! Awesome. A mini-Jag OTF would be pretty cool too, I'd buy one.

Also many people say its not correct it takes a team of sergeants to heal the wound just and it is impractical just like the guy in the video. But again, it is the Internet maybe what I read is wrong maybr youre wrong, but im leaning twords its wrong and false information about the knife and people just came up with because it is an expensive knife

      Have you ever seen the cutting vs stabing blood loss tables Col. Fairbairn worked out? It shows that stabing results in loss of consciousness or death significantly then cutting and his tables are considered to have generous time-frames.
      This knife could be mounted on a modern tactical vest via the molle webbing in a tip up pectoral cross draw, appendix carry or, horizontal and just those give it huge versatility.
      With a little practice at a twist then pull deployment happens in one motion and, with a point down grip I expect it would go through a skull or a lvl 3 stab vest.
      Integral knife mean storage handle, blade is one solid piece of titanium- which may have required a custom milling set and that kinda shit is not cheap

    • @Bobcat173rd
      @Bobcat173rd 8 лет назад +5

      +Kenneth Irgendwas (Whyzocker) my comment was made with a sarcastic tone to show the uselessness of this knife. Speaking from actual combat experience in Afghanistan, a knife that can ONLY be used as a weapon won't get any real use. A knife that can be used as a tool as well as a weapon would be worth it's weight in gold. That's probably why actual soldiers and marines wouldn't use this hunk of metal. A good old fashioned k-bar will always win out as a combat knife over a spiral gimmick "knife"

    • @gabork5055
      @gabork5055 8 лет назад

      It's more durable though, as it's 100% steel, which means it can't fall into pieces as easily as knives with grips and other parts made out of different materials f. ex. if you throw it into wood, but yeah it's overpriced.

  • @TheCrazyTribe
    @TheCrazyTribe 12 лет назад +2

    You can make a 3 sided blade from an old triangular file.
    The 3 sided blade, provides and uneven cut / wound.
    This prevents easy repair / stitching.
    The wound created by the blade, would be monstrous, and cause heavy internal and external bleeding.
    If used correctly, and owned by the right "Collector". This beautiful blade would be indeed a lethal weapon.

      @@aarongentile7232 Should I edit a seven year old comment? I think I always meant to write 'cut' instead of 'stab'. In this regard I was wrong for sure. However, you're not unscrewing this knife in the heat of battle. So maybe it's not even a good option for a shank after all...

    • @NotUnymous
      @NotUnymous Год назад

      Haha you should. I was just about commenting how wrong your "stab"-assumption is. It's mostly illegal around the western world because it causes wounds nearly impossible to stich up. It's a knife for warfare, nothing else.

  • @guiltyspark66
    @guiltyspark66 8 лет назад +30

    I was trying to figure out what this could be used for. The best I can figure is stabbing a target that has body armor on. It would also be good if one was attacked by a bear, lion or other large animal. Underwater, perhaps a diver could stab a hole in a boat with it and sink an enemy, I'm sure that would penetrate a fiberglass hull. But mostly, maybe MT wanted to show off their machining skill, which they certainly have.

    • @BFSDean
      @BFSDean 8 лет назад +11

      +guiltyspark66 Actually since it stabs in a rotating motion the blade would more than likely sink into armor up to the point then get caught in the armor at the twist due to increase friction from the twisting motion and surface area. Knives have been flat and straight for thousands of years for a reason.

    Good point. My first thought upon seeing the blade was how much it would suck to get that stuck in your side. There would be no walking away from that. However, to have any hope of successfully landing that attack, you'd have to have the knife out long before approaching your target. Not only is it slow and cumbersome to draw, but I bet it makes some noise as it unscrews too. Definitely not something one could rely on in a pinch.

    Its actually illegal in the US to use, but it takes a team of surgeons to seal up a wound

    • @josephk1342
      @josephk1342 7 лет назад

      uh, no it doesn't, that's fucking bullshit. All you need is a few stitches.

    • @bird700
      @bird700 7 лет назад +1

      No, You're wrong. The reason it takes a team of surgeons because its a Triblade (Tri standing for Three), The wound would be deep considering the blade is around 8-10 inches long, The blade is twisted and so when someone would insert the blade into someone, the blade would spin, causing more wounds inside the body, let alone, it would make more gashes and cuts just trying to take it out, It would cause a insane amount of bleeding, and the man who was stabbed would die in a possibility of 30 mins or less due to excessive blood loss. I Want to see you try to seal up the wounds of your friend who got stabbed with this god-forsaken knife.

    That would probably be perfect for lashing as a spear, with the twist design making it spin in mid air for better range.

You have to unscrew it .... and a nice quality reinforced drop point tip with be just as sharp as a matter of face pretty much any knife point is sharp. Its a pointless defensive knife at the extremely shit price of 700$ I could buy much better defense blades for that price

  • @GoingGhillie
    @GoingGhillie 11 лет назад

    Yes if you are serving for a country under the contract of the convention, for private security or civilians its completely legal, basically if your military u cant carry, then again most people ignore the smaller stuff of the convention, many servicemen carry hollow points and such which are also illegal do to how they can fragment, and are extremely difficult to remove, while FMJ or armor piercing passes through making field stitching much easier

  • @HadiBenoy
    @HadiBenoy 7 лет назад

    As far as i know the holes in the blades are to allow air inside while stabbing so the damage is bigger and there's 100% chance of an infection

  • @andrejamisak5035
    @andrejamisak5035 8 лет назад

    actually it is a piece of art, BUT its design and blades have a really unique function, there is a small bunch of people who actually understand why its designed like this, this knife is definetly not made for cutting but for stabbing, its spiral blades will make a bigger area of efifcience when you stab something, which will cause damage of a bunch of blood vessels, and the holes inside of it make it very easy for blood to get out of the vessels because without these holes, the blade would actually block the blood passage and slow down the bleeding, so these holes allow the blood to get out of the body as soon as possible. This blade is made for quick silent kills but in the firstplace, for silent hunting as the name is telling THE JAGDKOMMANDO. Hope you understood my comment :)

    I have a KA-BAR too and as a useful knife it's just great. Can be used around the garden when tidying up, camping, food prep, opening cans, just general cutting and as a weapon if you really needed it for that. This knife, whilst interesting, looks totally impractical. To make one of mankind's most useful tools almost useless takes a special kind of designer.

    I heard that this knife can cut someone without even needing to come into contact with that person. Just like Harry Potter's wand, you give it a swirl and the other person suffers from severe slash wounds and dies on the spot. Can someone confirm this ?
