This is a western wedding( Nigerians also do “white weddings” (church weddings) where they wear white wedding gowns and go to church just like the USA. Typically Nigerians have 2 weddings, traditional nigerian and white(western) wedding. In this video she has changed her white wedding dress to her reception dress
@@heads7982 it's what nigerians call the normal church wedding pr orthodox wedding because we also do traditional wedding or marriage so we say that to distinguish them
This is the reception ceremony guys. The wedding ceremony already done. They may have the traditional in the evening or just continue to paaaartyyyyy. Peace
You guys are really touched by this marriage. Retrospecting your wedding day. We're expecting something good from your wedding anniversary and make sure to keep loving each other. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
In Nigeria we have white wedding and traditional wedding That dress was a reception gown We wear bridal gowns to church, and during reception the bride change to reception gown.
Children's for the wedding, this is a reception after the wedding. Even if the children are here, they ain't gat nothing to participate on. This is the time for turning up🔥🔥
In modern Nigeria, there are 2 wedding ceremonies. The traditional wedding and the church wedding. The traditional wedding has 2 ceremonies. The payment of the bride price which is indoors between the two families only. And the outdoor which is like a reception for everyone. But the real wedding is indoors with the payment of the brideprice
Yes in Africa, it's at least two to three ceremonies prior marriage... In Uganda we have a bride price first, where the bridegroom to be is introduced to the lady's family, next the traditional wedding which we call the introduction then if the couple can decide to go further more, they can go for a white wedding but the first two ceremonies are vital...
I'm an Aussie who made a comment about the type of Wedding I'd like, the one with a huge family 👪. I want a large wedding with an Old Fashioned Reception from where I live in Far North Queensland, Australia. Where we hire a nice big hall, invite everyone, they'll bring a Plate (of food) and something to drink. I'd want one because I'm a People Person who loves a good party and it's not too expensive either. There are some differences from some American Weddings. It's not uncommon for the Groom's side to at least help pay for the Reception. If you accept your invitation you'll pay for your own travel expenses. The other one is the guests bring the Wedding Presents to the Reception. There's usually a table set up to put them on. There's usually a box or something if you just want to give the couple a card with some money in it. Kids would definitely be welcome under parental supervision of course. I remember how resentful I felt at being excluded from My Cousin's Reception as a Little Girl. Usually we'll have some Children's Games and Dances at our Receptions. With an understanding that they just had some fun, now it's the adults turn. Something that's common is Musical Chairs followed by a grown-up version called "Musical Arms". The Men form a line in the middle with one arm jutting out with his hand on his hip alternating between left and right arms. The Woman moving around them on the outside. When the music stops she'll hurry to find a man to link arms with.
what you are looking at is the white(church) wedding reception. they hardly film the church wedding in Nigeria. on youtube is either you are looking at the traditional wedding reception or the church wedding reception. After the wedding (church or traditional) everyone move to another location for the reception on the same day. and in Nigeria. You are supposed to have the church and traditional wedding with the time lag of maybe 1 week to 2 weeks.
This would be the reception, after the Church ceremony. The bride most likely changed her outfit after the wedding ceremony in Church while the man likely took off his suit.
Children can come .But, they will disturb their parents from having fun at parties . So, they let them go and play or hangout in their friend's house .They literarily ditch them at home.
This isn’t a traditional wedding, if you don’t see traditional outfits/outfits different from the west,it’s not a traditional wedding. Nigerians have the white wedding (that’s the church wedding) then the traditional ( that binds families) then a registry wedding( that binds the couples officially by the government, it’s usually very short not more than 10 in attendance, done at a registry )then a reception just like this to bring people together and have fun. Most people don’t do all in one day, they take about 2 different days sometimes. Some people don’t do all four too. But a traditional and a registry/court wedding is important.
See why pump-and-dump and baby mamas are not common. Every parent wants something like this for their children and every young man/woman also look forward to something like this. This is the main thing, the culture; church wedding is just an appendage, if you want. A man can't boast of "my wife" without inviting people to something like this, same with a woman. And no man likes to do this, spend this much for a "second-hand" woman (babymama, 304 or divorcee). It's an egg in the face. This is part of the reason why divorce is not very appealing, after this kind of show and getting many people to abandon their schedules to help make this to happen, you want to divorce? Not easy to sell unless extreme situation. The other part is that with divorce the woman walks away empty-handed because the children belongs to the man and his family. His mother or sister will collect the children; they are children of the family from their son/brother. No property to share. Everyone goes with whatever property that bears their name. Big disincentive to divorce for women to file for divorce. There's nothing like "Best interest of the child(ren)". The father molds the child and gifts the community. The child is part of the interest of the man. He is the one that created the family. The okra tree cannot be taller than the owner. The West family and social structure are eff'd up.

This is the wedding reception. Nigerian women don't generally wear those pouffy gowns at the reception because they really want to dance.

Not in Africa! If you expect your guest to bring their own food or gift you might not have a wedding. 🤣
This is actually the reception of the white wedding.
It's actually their white wedding, there's this trend where the bride changes her wedding gown for something simple for the wedding reception

When are you gonna react to Ghanaian traditional wedding?
We're reacting to a Ghanaian wedding sometime this week.
The lady is wearing a reception dress.
This is a white wedding not a traditional wedding
🇳🇬💯✅
The couples are now wearing different clothes for the reception
This is the white wedding reception. So they've gone to change to something simpler. Traditional wedding, everything is traditional.

Children are allowed. They might sitting down
Well this is the reception of the white wedding thou
