It did. Both qrows and clovers semblances always affect primarily them, and secondarily everyone around them. Though they appear to be able to focus the second part somewhat. Incidentally this makes qrow even more badass. He always has more bad luck than his foe, his semblance is actually purely a downside, the only advantage is other people aren't used to fate ruining their day.

It's not just that. There are yet more factors. 1. Clover is not only the leader of the team but the commander, the main decider and shot caller. Him being absent reduced their coordination as a unit, in contrast team rwbys main shot caller is ruby and she was present. 2. All 4 of the ace ops had conflict internally about following the orders to arrest their now colleagues for several months and perhaps even friends, over the crime of objecting to a plan that would kill half of atlas and isolate the other half. Team rwby has no reservations about resisting an unjust arrest. All of this makes it pretty clear to me why RWBY won. Especially since I think people generally treat the shows power dynamics like it's dragon ball z, when in reality it's more like og Dragonball, there are normies, the low level bracket of fighters (gifted students and normal huntsmen) and the high level bracket (which by the end of volume 6 all of team rwby are). Within a broad tier context and circumstances, not fighting ability, is the primary decider. (I'm keeping the maidens in a tier on their own, and Salem just is just off the charts because immortal lul.)

@@ChaosWolfRider the scene im referencing is when Salem appears in front of everyone says "lmao you dead 'ominously' and oh yeah im blatantly saying i killed your mom Ruby" Ruby then proceeds to cry in anger to where her eyes do their thing, which has been established to only happen with strong emotions, she slumps to the ground. Yang who was raised by the same mother barely reacts. Salem leaves, Rabbit Girl starts going "we cant win" gets interjected with a "yes we can if we work together", Rabbit Girl goes "we have orders yada yada We're the best in the world", Ruby stands up turns around and goes "*smirking* you were, then you trained us" battles ensue. it is the contrast in tone and character that doesn't work for me, Ruby (and Yang) should by all indications should be devastated, angry or at the very least saddened, not quipping and smirking like her doubts and grief had not just been confirmed, i just feel like they could've done better and this scene should've have more weight to it since it's the "things are getting serious (again)" moment, where last time it was handled with gravitas

I always viewed it as Ruby figuring out she needed to do something in order to stop Salem. It wasn't necessarily anger or fear, but determination. The fact that Yang never reacts is a little confusing, until you realize her personality. She puts on this façade where she is tuff and a badass despite being depressed herself. She shrugs things off and deals with them silently, but especially not in front of her team, and definitely not in front of the enemy.
RWBY Vs. ACEOPS, one of if not the greatest fight scene lately in the RWBY Volumes (though Ironwood Vs. Watts was awesome too but idk I just love this fight a lot).
Best fight in the volume. Ironwood vs Watts was awesome because of the environment. RWBY vs Ace Ops had a lot more going on. More face paced and dynamic.

I’ve heard people refer to this song as all of the RWBY team members are “singing”, meaning represented in the lyrics. Could someone explain to me how they’re all represented or what lyrics speak to which character? Or is it more of a this plays during a fight scene where all four members are present so therefore it symbolizes them??
It really doesn't, it symbolises the conflict between the aceops and RWBY (which is what happens when the song plays of course), absolutely not about team RWBY members specifically. Plus iirc there is 3 singers in this song (that all did an amazing job btw) so no 4 people like in team RWBY either. Don't know who started to say that it did but they should listen to it again and read the lyrics
I for one think this song would've been better if there were male singers too. That way you could interpret it from the perspective of both Team RWBY AND the Ace-Ops.
Ironwood was right. If team rwby hadn't ruined everything his plan would've worked and they could have faced Salem head on. Even if she cant be killed she can be subdued. Atlas was the most advanced kingdom and could have definitely produced a jail that could hold her,
Also her fight with Hazel confirms that she can still feel pain. While she didn't say much in reaction to having her torso blown up or having her ribs crushed by Yang and Hazel respectively, she *screamed like a banshee* when Hazel lit her on fire.

When the Ace Ops realised how much they were leaning on Clover's Semblance.
Meanwhile, Team RWBY and JNR has had to put up with Qrow's Semblance (not sure if its really affected them much, but still).
