4x4 Sprinter Part 1

The sprinter is the one of the top contenders in the large can market. It's also the only large van with a factory 4wd system. Ford offers AWD on the transit and all others are 2wd. This is part 1 which covers the general review. Part 2 will cover offroad and driving chacteristics.
Engine Adventures strives to explore and test the AWD and 4WD systems of all crossovers, SUVs, and pickup trucks. To do this we test vehicles in real world environments in a way that allows viewers to cross shop and explore any vehicle they may be interested in learning about.

Thanks for the off road test in pt2. We are looking at a 4wd Sprinter for overlanding. Your test cemented the fact that we need an aftermarket 4wd conversion with a real low gear and lockers.
The emergency exit window is hinged at the top (assuming it's not been changed from the previous gen Sprinter). We have used it as a opening window for camping in the past.

Thanks for the tip on the window! I was wary to open it I'm case it just dropped out. The once thing with aftermarket conversions is that I don't think they will have the brake based limited slip on the front axle. Might be a non-issue, but it might be something you need!

I believe the fog light switch turns on the rear fog lights...
i cant explain why it displays both front and rear fog lights on
when you showed us there are no front fog lights 🤔

Interesting thought. This one has no additional lighting on the rear. If it does turn on rear lights then it must be the reverse lights.

I think the rear fog light should be the bottom bulb on the drivers side. The bottom right side bulb socket doesnt usually have a bulb in it.

I wish they updated the dash board with some new tech.
