when I think of LA skit comedy from the streets, I think of Bigg Jah & Watts Homie thats it..Ive been comin to my aunts n uncles crib in LA since the 80s myself she lived in Denver Lanes hood by 112/ denver ave & she always preached at us hard against gangbanging & told us what not to wear etc
Aye that’s dope watts I’m from San Bernardino 42 yrs old, my name is Verdell I have never heard of that name besides me having it it’s crazy to hear that your uncle name is Verdell
I’m from LA and this is how u go around LA. First off you have to act like you are BROKE. NO fly ass car, NO stand out jewelry, NO going to designer stores SHOPPING spending a grip bkuz it’s somebody always WATCHING, and they will get when it’s least expected by following u home or waiting until u get out your car, and don’t live in a nice house, bkuz it’s subject to get FLOCKED. As far as the hats go 98% of the hats mean something but that part is not that bad like 20yrs ago. And going 2 the swap meets it’s still tricky but if u know all BLOODS go to 10th Ave in the Bity Stones and everybody else go to the Slauson swap meet. Don’t get me wrong BLOODS be up in there too but it’s way safer 2 go 2 10th Ave. Be safe out there and know your surroundings BIP LIL BOP, REDRUM, HALFPINT, SLIM 400, & BIG WY
111th and Lemoli was my home for many years, I worked at the drive-thru liquor store on Lemoli and Imperial. Im trying to think of who your Aunt would be BC. I appreciate this interview from the persecutive on Brothas who are up in the trenches but who was able to escape the death and destruct. I appreciate this young bro's grind and his content (which makes me homesick daily as I live in Florida no).........Side note, KINGS hats are a major violation in Inglewood for all my 80's babies and older (they know).
"Why is it so vicious out in these streets??" "Well remember back in the day when a homie got some money he would like - square up and not really come around the hood". Amazing. "Why is the culture so vicious and violent" in the same breath as calling someone who got some money and chose not to live a violent lifestyle anymore as "square". Idk Court..maybe perpetuating a subculture that values being violent and vicious as "real" and being a productive member of society not committing violence "square"? Maybe that's got somethin to do with it? Man. Such a mystery. We may never solve this.
I LOVE Watts Homie Quan content. Shit funny as hell but Big Jah waaaay funnier in my humble opinion......I love the way Quan thinks tho. Super intelligent and down to earth.
Being from the South, I was heavily into a lot of underground Hip-hop from all over the country especially in the late 2000's/2010's when rappers like Lil Wayne started claiming Blood. For the West Coast, I remember Nipsey Hussle (RIP), Young Maylay (GTA San Andreas), Bandana Tha Ragg out of Compton (Crips and Bloods Made In America documentary), and especially Bangin on Wax (RIP Big Wy, RedRum, ). It wasn't the gang stuff for me, they were just talented as hell on the mic and I wanted to hear the real authentic ones. LA been definitely raw and way underrated but I definitely remember hearing Rice Krispies (Raymond Crips diss) on a Damu Ridas song. Cheese Toast=East Coast Crips Much love from the ATL
@@elijahtejeda990 he was on gangsta Chronicles about last year or so, but I don’t think they did a good enough job when they interviewed him they was more shocked that he was calm, laid-back and collective versus coming on there talking aggressive

I think you’re reading to much into “square”, niggas don’t mean it as a bad thing, it just mean you get out the way.
