Another great breakdown brother. The biggest takeaway for me was AB is showing signs of greatness. His maturity is showing up and his command with the ball is showing us something amazing

These teams are giving P5 the ol Hack a Shaq treatment.

KCP the missing piece of the puzzle. What a satisfying cop

This win showed that if doesn’t matter how you win, you just get the win. Maybe your star player doesn’t have a big point total but you get contributions from other people. Banchero didn’t have a lot of points, but you got points from KCP and Anthony Black among others.

That's because Paolo was double team so the rest of the team had better looks. It happens. Slowly but surely Paolo is going to overcome those defensive schemes as well

That's why Orlando has 2 stars. When one cant get it going, the other takes over

Look people, it is going to be a tough month. We lost our best player for a while. This could have happened to any team. It happen to Philly last year. They built that team around him why because he is one of the best players in the league. So all you people getting mad at the front office or saying Franz is not worth the money is silly. If you don’t want to support just go watch something else. When you have a star like paolo banchero you built around him and that is what the front office. You can’t predict he is going to get injuried. Hopefully we will figure it out and hold it down until he gets back. No,the magic are not going to trade for Trey young or anyone like that at least not right now. #GoMagic

Anthony Black and Jalen Suggs are the backcourt of the future! Or do we need to trade for an offensive dynamo after all?

Game was chippy from the start killing the wholesome vibes of a preseason opener and stayed chippy throughout as coach Fernández challenged his team to match the Magic's intensity. Ben Simmons can still muck up a game as good as anyone.
I thought the Magic would for sure would break their regular season streak of failing to score more than 2 points a minute for the first 6 minutes of a half but then they went on a 3 minute drought and extended their streak to 5 regular season games. Luckily it was in the first half when we know Cole Anthony will get two bites at the apple to take the lid off of the defense for everyone. Has shown to be much more fatal when it happens in 3rd quarters.
Cole gets in and Moritz travels showing he's ready to lead centers in turnovers per minute again. Paolo sees the lane finally open up and his eyes get big and he puts Cole into a +/- deficit which Paolo and Markelle have both done so many times to end 1st quarters. Then Cole turns it over 5 seconds into his first play yikes.
2nd quarter offense goes on a 15-9 run in the first 4 and half minutes. Cole, AB, and Moe leave the game after a challenge at the 7 min mark and our offense scores just 6 points in over 5 minutes. They put just Cole and not AB or Moe back in and we score 6 points in less than 2 minutes.
Cole was caught ball watching too often in the first half and didn't close out on shooters fast enough which can happen if you're looking for the action that's coming to hunt you.
But with AB guarding the ball handler he was too eager to switch and leave Moritz as the prey. Which I did enjoy watching but would rather have Cole on the ball handler with AB playing the passing lane like Cole and Suggs used to do in 22-23. Someone needs to tell AB that we don't switch everything on the bench unit.
Hard to say if AB coming or Cam Thomas going caused the swing in the 3rd quarter but they were getting stops and hitting shots and went 8-9 from the free throw line. 4th quarter was great with no Ben Simmons around but Cole only gets to the line once after getting mauled 4 times. I wish he played enough minutes to take full advantage of his elite whistle but he and the rest of the team miss 7 free throws while he is on the floor killing my favorite stat and they score a quick 7 in full blown garbage time with Cole off the floor.
    Game 2 vs Nets
Team 67 points scored and 57 points allowed in 28 minutes and 25 seconds without Cole
Team 49 points scored and 44 points allowed in 19 minutes and 35 seconds with Cole.
Paolo 14 points 4/10 FGA 1/1 3PA in 28 minutes and 23 seconds without Cole
Paolo 1 point 0/3 FGA 0/1 3PA in 8 minutes and 50 seconds with Cole
Franz 22 points 7/14 FGA 2/5 3PA in 24 minutes and 0 seconds without Cole
Franz 7 points 3/5 FGA 1/1 3PA in 14 minutes and 52 seconds with Cole
    Season Total
Team 132 points scored and 111 points allowed in 58 minutes and 55 seconds w/o Cole
Team 100 points scored and 87 points allowed in 37 minutes and 5 seconds with Cole
Paolo 37 points 12/30 FGA 3/7 3PA in 58 minutes and 55 seconds without Cole
Paolo 11 points 4/7 FGA 2/3 3PA in 15 minutes and 47 seconds with Cole
Franz 35 points 13/25 FGA 3/8 3PA in 41 minutes and 22 seconds without Cole
Franz 17 points 7/10 FGA 3/4 3PA in 20 minutes and 36 seconds with Cole

Was at the game last night and can say those Refs were AWFUL! This felt like the slowest game I’ve ever seen, they wouldn’t stop blowing the whistle and it killed the pace of the game and wouldn’t allow the crown to even get into this.

i dont even understand tbh the nets BLEW us out twice last year, now we got better and won by 15. this is exactly what being better looks like, its not meant to be pretty, it simply gets done. i thought it was a great experience game for the magic. too bad the hack a paolo was actually working

The Nets are probably going to be the worst team in the league this season. That was not a good team. Schroder gives them stability. They couldn't function without him.
