A valve is needed in the discharge of the machine, so that it is pressurized. Also the filter dehydrator that comes included in the machine is of very poor quality.
The drier simply acts as a pre-filter to prevent particles from entering the unit. Regarding your comment on discharge, there is a check valve built in to the discharge valve so refrigerant will not flow from the tank back through the recovery unit. It can only flow from the unit to the tank. Hopefully this answers your question and thank you for your reply!!
Thank you for the reply and sorry to hear you’ve had a bad experience. We’ve been partnered with JB for many years and firmly believe in their manufacturing capabilities and quality of products. I would be sure to voice your concerns to the distributor where you purchased the product. If made aware of the situation I’m sure the folks at the factory will stand behind their product 100%.
Hi Gary We reached out to JB for the reply to your comment and here was their answer: "Although the F6-DP was designed and engineered in the USA, the majority of components are made offshore. Because of that the F6 is not Made in the USA like the majority of our other products. We will continue to make strides and efforts to manufacture as much of the JB Industries products in the USA. We are currently in the process of evaluating bringing this product domestically and hope we can do so soon."
Whats the process to pressure test the JB-F6? Bench test compressor shutoff process?
You can put a gauge on the high side of the unit and turn on the unit with the valve off. Then you can see where the compressor cuts out.
