  • Let's get vulnerable shall we? 👋 🌈 💘 🌴 🦋
Join me as I sit down with Licensed Therapist, Orlando (aka Orlo), to discuss our experiences living with a facial vascular birthmark.
Meet Orlando ➡️ Orlo Calvo is a Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC, with a Port Wine Stain. His journey of having PWS led him to recognize the importance of mental health, self-esteem and own’s confidence to become a mental health therapist. Orlo is now transitioning his private practice to work more closely with people who have PWS.

I also gave a pws birthmark and I have been in stores and I have gotten some of the nastiest looks and I got bullied for a little bit but I love my birthmark and that’s all that matters to me

Since when is having a birthmark considered a problem?

well these birthmarks are honestly on random spots which is honestly embarrassing as people keep on staring at us something like that and students (like me) often get bullied of these birthmarks

Since children were bullied by other children who could not accept this abnormality killing their confidence and throwing them into a spiral of constant self- consciousness. Some pws may also have physiological complications over time like thickening and further vessel growth to name a few.
