Having FX8 MK2 coming (long time Helix FRFR user) switched to Twin Tonemaster and just want a smaller unit with (Better?) drives and effects... Thanks for video!

    Hello guys!
I'm not familiar with this device (FX8), so please help me to understand.
In recent years, I have only worked with standard MIDI foot controllers (currently Digitech 1101 GSP + Rocktron All Access). I'm used to the fact that each switch performs only one function, it is very convenient and simple. The scheme was as follows: using the switches 1-5 I switch channels only my Egnater M4 preamp. On switches 6-10 I appointed only the effects of my GSP 1101. On the switches 11-15, I appointed managing RJM mini effect gizmo with 5 pedals (overdrive, fuzz, booster etc.). So I have 15 assignable switches.
However FX8 has (X/Y) function, where each switch can perform two functions. So I can have 16 assignable switches, right? If so, I ask to explain to me, if I can manage all my settings via FX8?
Can the 1-4 switches to switch my M4 channels and control my RJM mini effect gizmo)?
Can the 5-8 switches to control 8 effects (modulation, distortion, delay, reverb, etc.) at the same time?
And most importantly ... Will is comfortable in my situation for a live performance? I do not have to dance the way I've done it before, when I used a lot of analog pedals?
    Sorry for my english...
    Thank you!
    Max

I'll try and explain. If I miss anything or if anything is unearthed just ask. 😊
You have two relays. So anything you can do to your preamp with two relays you can do with the FX8.
The x/y allows two different settings on a block. So two different drives, on a single switch. More specifically I could have a scene - so like the verse - with a rat pedal with certain settings - you can use the same block as a fuzz pedal in the chorus. As a Y setting on the same block.
It can send midi like crazy and most people have no issues with it. I don't use it though so I'd have to check things specifically to see if they'd work.
Let me say this though: the drives are amazing. I no longer use any of my dozens of drives pedals live any more.
Finally, it's VERY easy to use live. So so simple. And makes life so much easier.
      Hope that helps.

      +Butterfield Studios
In my Egnater M4 preamp channels are switched via MIDI. Therefore, I do not need the relay. I have a specific question. Can the switches 5-8 (X / Y) to work this way:
in mode "X" - to transmit MIDI messages to my M4 (switch channels)
in mode "Y" - to transmit MIDI messages to my RJM mini effect gizmo (control pedal).
      Thank you!

+Максим Мороз I'd say probably, but you should REALLY pop onto the FX8 section of the Fractal forum and get someone to verify that as it's outside how I've ever used it. Sorry I can't be definitive!

Ok please help, so "scene" I can set all my tones and fx ie drive, delay, reverb for each 8 footswitches? Each of the 8 options can have 8 different tones but just 8 different FX etc

Essentially yes. Scenes allow you to set up combos of fx and switch between them. The limit is based on the number of blocks the FX8 allows you to use at once.
