Had such a blast with this one. Brutal gore, creative kills, a vicious Leatherface, an actual chainsaw massacre, and gorgeous cinematography to boot. Loved it!
Just to defend the movie a bit, and I understand what you are saying, but leatherface was actually fixing it and pouring the gas into it. When the one sister is trying to sneak out of the house, you can actually hear him fixing it. At least thats what I'm taking it as but you can screws being screwed in (giggity) and pouring liquid. Just to help clarify and defend the movie to a point cause I actually enjoyed it. Great show guys!
Was coming here to say this same thing. When she tries to escape, the last time it shows the shot of the doorframe you hear the cap being screwed back on. Leatherface was tinkering with the chainsaw that whole time. Probably would have been better for J and others had they cut in shots of what he was doing instead of just sound effects.
The "Say my name" thing was so god damn dumb, and I SAID GOD DAMN. Exactly when did she walk up to him and amongst all that screaming go "By the way, my name is Sally Hardesty, or Hardesty-Enright, depending on things?" They never spoke one word to each other.
Well I think when people say he doesn't remember her. Personally I do believe that he does remember her but he just doesn't care because she's not important to him.

In the last years bigger productions with similar problems got more catastrophic results (remember Snowman?).
They aren't Sawyers in this movie, though. They're called the Slaughters in this continuity, which makes sense, since the gas station in the original has the Cook's (Drayton's) family name on the sign, and it was Slaughter. I'm confused about Richter's business in this town. Was he the the only craftsman the influencer hired? Was he supposed to restaurate ALL the houses in the town alone? Man, he would have had a secure job for a decade!
That's a writer that hasn't worked a labor job a day in his life, because one guy, one week? What in the world could he even have accomplished TOWN WIDE. lol These are the plot holes that are sprinkled throughout that makes it seem like the plot was their least concern.
I was totally confused when that first murder went down. I didn't think that was Leatherface in the back of the van. The lady was referred to as the "mother" to the dude in the van with her. Since he's gotta be at least in his mid 70s Leatherface's mother would be over 100, or very close to 100, and that lady was nowhere near that old. I figured the two of them would have a connection to him, but I was completely dumbfounded when the craziness started, I was like who in the hell is THIS guy??!! I don't think I've ever seen anyone adopt someone older than they are as their child. That thought never even crossed my mind.......which was a sign of the stupidness to come. Unfortunately I was one of the few who had decent expectations for this movie. The "requel" trend has given us some really decent movies with the new Halloween's and the new Scream, so I had my fingers crossed the trend would continue. There's a million plot threads they start and abandon, the screenplay is horrible and an hour and twenty minutes gives you no time to flesh out the characters or the story. I thought what they did to Sally's character was ridiculous.....and the character doesn't add anything to the movie. Sally has never been one of those special "final girls" so nobody gives a crap about the character. However, if they HAD to drag her into the movie they should have made it worth it. They could have beefed the film up to 100 minutes and used that extra time to reintroduce the Sally character, get deeper into her backstory, given us some new flashbacks possibly and just have done a little work at making us care about the character......finally. I was hoping they would bring something a little new to the table, because people are expecting a little more from the big horror franchises now, the days of getting by with a film that has basically no script and no plot that exists solely as a showcase for a few clever death scenes isn't gonna cut it. Halloween 2018 showed that people want their slasher films to have some substance to them now. I figured the people behind this hot garbage probably took some pointers from Halloween 2018. The pointers they obviously took were "they gave the new Halloween reboot the title of the original and brought back the original star and it worked so let's do that!!" And they did that without bothering to pay attention to what actually made that Halloween reboot a success. They had a shot this time at completely erasing all of the horrid movies that have come before and laying a new foundation now with a quality film to jump off from and they fluffed it. It was bad enough to consider tearing it all down after ONE film and starting over. And jesus that horrible ending, they couldn't have made it more obvious he was going to pop up and drag the chick out of the car. I was crossing my fingers they weren't gonna do it when they started teasing you with it. The ending was really the last squirt of rotten icing on a green, festering cake. The decapitation looked horrible too. I'd day this is only for the diehard fans, but the diehard fans were expecting the A+ requel treatment that the new Halloween films and the new scream have gotten. This was an epic failure.
As someone who has generalized anxiety disorder/ PTSD/ panic attacks , I have a very tumultuous relationship w weed. However once I took an edible & watched what I thought was Frozen 2013- it was Frozen 2010 😂😂 kicked my ass
I think someone should tell J that the guy who directed The Godfather 1 and 2, yes and 3 but let's ignore that for now, also directed Jack, a terrible Robin Williams movie, just because you did good for some films doesn't mean you cannot make crap with others. Also I think Batman Forever shows it's not a studio issue alone, I mean I doubt the studio was like ah yeas we need nipples on the suits, and cod pieces, children love a cod piece, and shots of Batman's booty, that is what the little tikes want to see. I think it was another situation as Raimi with Spidey 3, the director got their knickers in a twist and let the move tank because of it, because it's not their money, which is also why I don't automatically side with the directors, because especially with IP properties like this, it's not their IP, it's not their money, it's not their movie, they are work for hire, so do the work you are hired to do imo, it's when you get a Snyder/Whedon situation or like what happened with one of the TCM movies, where they take the movie off of the director after they filmed the movie where I think it's in bad form, but giving them direction? It's their money why shouldn't they have say? Not like Schumacher didn't know to expect it after Forever.
Kid rocks mom, aka Ted Nugent, aka dog the bounty hunter 😂😂😂😂 This movie is definitely taken for granted. Not the best movie ever but it gave me the feeling that the slasher craze is coming back like the 80s. So much gore and blood and brutal killer. This is a good TCM movie for being released on Netflix!
What’s crazy is this movie (and it may have been on purpose idk) happened in real life minus the massacring. There’s a tiny town in west Texas called Marfa that a bunch of hipsters bought up and made it a tourist destination lol kind of weird
hey guys i’ve been wondering if i should take a leap and try to start my own small podcast doing things like reviewing my favorite movies and things, does anyone think that’d be something they’re interested in? the horror genre needs more attention and i think we can all do that
That chainsaw was shot 3 times now tell me how the fuck it was still working lol or how he threw the fucking chainsaw at her ankles, she got hit and fell down and somehow was able to walk! Like what!!?
As much as I want to give the movie credit for having an actual chainsaw massacre, the way it was executed kinda makes me think there was a good reason for that...maybe if they had more people trying to do something about it rather than pretty much submitting to death it wouldn't bother me but we know how dumb decisions and slasher movies go together so whatever🤷🏿♂️....its a perfectly watchable slasher requel though
Never been a fan of the TCM films so wont be watching this one, glad the fella's enjoyed it though, I read that Alvarez said the events of the original sequels are canon to this film, so yeah Leatherface has got to be supernatural by this point, maybe all that human flesh has bestowed upon him extra lives? one for every victim he has consumed? So I never realised the narrator for the TCM was the villain in the 90's Richie Rich film, I dunno about anyone else but that thought makes me chuckle.
The more I think about the movie the more I dislike it. It's like biting into a piece of chocolate that you expect to have filling but it's just empty inside. Sure the chocolate is fine but you really expected something more.
Movie was trash! The acting was atrocious and horribly irritating. Netflix has deep enough pockets to at least scout a location that either better resembles Texas or has more of a Texas feel. That would create a more TCM atmosphere and could've made the movie tolerable. This had the feel of a straight to tv/DVD #5 sequel feel
It’s time we move on past Jamie Lee Curtis, and do a Halloween w/ a younger Michael (hell have Airon Armstrong play him) that returns to the essence of Halloween 4 (minus the mask) w/ a whole new character selection & less focus on the typical Hadddonfield template.
hate to break it to ya, but Halloween 4's essence is so far from the original. besides, that IS the typical haddonfield template. its time we move past those sequels like 4 and keep Michel unique like Carpenter intended. We already had 30 something years of essence you're referring to. i dont see them returning to such inferior stuff after this
@@CuriousCorduroywell that's what I get for seeing only the second half of the movie. I didn't say it was terrible I just thought the ending was hilarious. Okay so they're sisters not lesbians it's still hilarious.
I agree that TCM (2022) is way landslides more brutal as most the gore is shown and a lot of it is very creative in execution and timing. The only scene I will give Halloween Kills is the staircase scene where Michael kills the boyfriend. TCM also has more gore to the minute in terms of just throwing brutality and kills to the viewer. Yes the movie is shorter but Halloween Kills was supposed to and should’ve been way more focused on Michael instead of the humans and the family. (Extra thought) I like the context and premise of the ending massacre in Halloween Kills, but I personally think it was one of the worst takes of wasted potential. I would’ve really perfected a close shot of him waking up and killing the first victim but then transfer it to a wide shot of him slashing down every person that beat him. So you get to see the massacre and the brutality of Myers. His smarts allowing him to almost John Wick the shit out of the people surrounding him. Maybe then we could see Tommy slowly backing up in fear as he realizes there truly is no stopping him. In which Michael grabs him before he is able to turn and run. Jabbing him very harshly to end that massacre.
lmaooooooo good thing you will never touch a Halloween movie "Maybe then we could see Tommy slowly backing up in fear as he realizes there truly is no stopping him." except that did hppen in the film, with tommy and half the other people he killed. Thanks for showing you didnt pay attention to Kills. something as bland as TCM however, i wont even speak on how bad it was.
@@millyoneyedeaz1350 that never happened, tommy watched him slash everyone then stood there stupidly, in which he went to swing that bat and got stabbed. @@millyoneyedeaz1350 1. Laurie character is basically written into the background cause they realize they have to many stories to deal with 2. The escaped mental patients storyline halts and drags the film for almost 15-20 min of the screen time and basically added nothing to the film as it ended with the man dying and the sheriff saying a corny line that the audience already knew and understood. 3. The women who shoots into the car from 50 ft away makes no sense as she doesn’t even know her friends are dead yet. Meaning, firing blindly into a car she could kill her friend. Blindly firing means she will miss every shot. Why didn’t she just shoot him in the car. Instead of running away and letting her friends die then coming back out of no where to shoot into the car. 4. Tommy started off great but then turned into an annoying bumbling idiot who just screams the same chant over and over. We get the point. 5. Why would Alice just randomly, without police interference, just enter into a murder scene house. How did Michael get from the street to the house without any police seeing him. 6. People loved the sheriff. Just like I did. But how would he survive being stabbed brutally in the neck and ran over by a car. Bleeding out for a while in the road. Halloween Kills has a lot of problems. These are just off the top of my heads I still went to the theater as a fan and still bought it on 4K. I do t think it’s the worst in the franchise but it certainly is not the best. It fumbled a lot in the writing department and all I have is hope that Halloween End can land a home run with an excellent ending film. By no means am I saying Kills is total trash.
I actually like this film
Why was Sally living in the house of horrors? Makes no sense.
Kid rocks mom, aka Ted Nugent, aka dog the bounty hunter 😂😂😂😂
This movie is definitely taken for granted. Not the best movie ever but it gave me the feeling that the slasher craze is coming back like the 80s. So much gore and blood and brutal killer. This is a good TCM movie for being released on Netflix!
Happy belated birthday 🎉 J 🥪
Like what!!?
i didnt like it but i did laugh
The only TCM thats one of the worst movies I've seen is Leatherface 2017.
Hey crazy bad bitches! I luv u. I thought u were going to say “ Texas chicken chainsaw massacre”
If they’re driving a Tesla why do they stop to get gas?
Free squeegee? lol
😂😂
ANYBODY talking about they like this movie but hated Halloween Kills?
look up hypocrite and find out what a walking contradiction is.
you're welcome.
This movie was incredibly woke also
@@justinsime3786 you missed everything lol
All the people bitching about this movie there's NO WAY IN TEXAS my boys Mike and J didn't have some fun with this movie 🍺🙂🙂🍵
100% partner
It’s time we move on past Jamie Lee Curtis, and do a Halloween w/ a younger Michael (hell have Airon Armstrong play him) that returns to the essence of Halloween 4 (minus the mask) w/ a whole new character selection & less focus on the typical Hadddonfield template.
hate to break it to ya, but Halloween 4's essence is so far from the original.
besides, that IS the typical haddonfield template.
its time we move past those sequels like 4 and keep Michel unique like Carpenter intended.
We already had 30 something years of essence you're referring to.
i dont see them returning to such inferior stuff after this
The next generation is the worst in the tcm franchise
This movie was wack as hell
😆😆 That ending. An influencer watching her lesbian lover being butchered all while being taken away by self driving hybrid.
Pretty sure they were sisters.
@@CuriousCorduroywell that's what I get for seeing only the second half of the movie. I didn't say it was terrible I just thought the ending was hilarious. Okay so they're sisters not lesbians it's still hilarious.
They tried so hard to be woke in this movie 👎
Yeah it made it blow
You missed the point that the movie was pointing the finger at these people, not agreeing with them.
The point of it was to make fun of woke people. There was even a joke about it.
@@poultry-lover6665 good because it made it suck
It sucked...
Jabbing him very harshly to end that massacre.
lmaooooooo good thing you will never touch a Halloween movie
"Maybe then we could see Tommy slowly backing up in fear as he realizes there truly is no stopping him."
except that did hppen in the film, with tommy and half the other people he killed.
Kinda dumb that he didn’t just run while he was slashing the others. Like the writing was poor. Good thing you will never touch any movie if you believe that ending was 100% the best
@@millyoneyedeaz1350 I payed attention to kills as I recognize it has many problems writing and character wise. The best part of that movie was Michael and how they treated him. It’s a decisive movie so stop trying to act like it was a masterpiece. I never said TCM 2022 was a masterpeice just said that it was fun for the quick hour 30 the movie spends on just giving you brutality. It didn’t take itself seriously at all, and yes I would’ve preferred a serious TCM but for what we got it was entertaining. (Not a masterpiece)
@@JoeGrizz1y "I payed attention to kills as I recognize it has many problems writing and character wise.
(you CLAIM that, yet mention none lol)

(more vague, inarticulate rambling.
The irony that you're this bad at writing but you're trying to critcize those who write way better than you do)

(Im nit acting like its a masterpiece, just pointing out your double standard. Fro all your crying about Kills, your bar is severely low for TCM)
It didn’t take itself seriously at all, and yes I would’ve preferred a serious TCM but for what we got it was entertaining. (Not a masterpiece)
(are you done saying NOTHING yet?
How about you stop trying to act like you;re competent enough to judge screenwriting
@@millyoneyedeaz1350 1. Laurie character is basically written into the background cause they realize they have to many stories to deal with
I still rewatch it from time to time to enjoy the good elements of the movie. You are just mad for nothing 😂
It had too much political references that I disagreed with so it ruined most of it.
This movie was totally woke
First me!
This movie sucks
Put respect on Sally , She was one of the sole survivor from 2013 also 75 version and she was bound to die tho so I wasn’t mad
