There are three certaintees in life: #1- death, #2- government lies and steals from you, #3- attorneys and car dealers share the title of scumbag of a lifetime.
Kevin, I was informed a few weeks ago that a young lady was at a used car lot close to where I live. She was told by a salesman that she had to have ALL THESE ADDED SERVICES ON THE CAR SHE WANTED TO BUY
That's BS! The law is silent on this and they can't charge different people different rates or it's discrimination and they could be sued. Easiest way around it is to say go ahead and charge me the Doc fee but lower the cost of the car so effectively it's no more than $100 left for the "fee". The Doc is mostly pure profit over $100. Florida dealers are some of the biggest clowns in the business because the state allows them to get away with it by not mandating a lower fee of $85 like CA.
Thanks for the helpful information. I definitely will consider your car buying service for my next car. I also have told others about it. I love your transparency and I'm confident in your business compared to others offering a similar service. I wish you much success.
You missed one that was spung on me when I was young and foolish. They quoted manufacturer financing and then when I showed up for delivery it was higher. They "couldn't get the financing" but they got me something local for a little more. RED FLAG if you think you should qualify for a better rate. I found out later they got sued for this practice since they got a kickback from the local bank they financed it through. It's amazing how much better information is available for free today on what to look out for!
would you want to work in such a crappy business environment like a car dealership? Anyone with dignity or talent gets out of a "stealership" as soon as they can. The burnout rate as a car salesperson is high.
Back in the sixties my uncle would call the Chevrolet place and tell the owner he needed a new car and they would bring one to his house or office and take all his stuff out the old one and put it in the new one and mail him a bill. They handled all the paper work. They knew to just bring him the best one on the lot. The last new vehicle (2015 Suburban) I bought from a dealer was at the same dealership from the same guys son my uncle bought from. After his family sold the dealership to the big chain dealer I won’t even go there for repairs. My father in law owned Huckabay Chevrolet in Dade City, Florida and was honest. All of the stuff the car dealers do now is like same sex marriage and the other things that prove how far this country has sunk from the days of decency and honesty.
One of our Electricians wired up a sex dungeon for a client last month. I asked where that guy works, He said he's a F+I Car Salesman at a Cadillac dealership. Sick pups all around. Just say No !
@LoadingNY posted a video of a man at Bauer Car Connection in The Village, Oklahoma. After 15 days, the dealer still refuses to deliver a car for which the man paid $51,500. As the man is demanding his car, the dealership employee orders him off the property. The customer calls the police who inform him they cannot do anything because it is a civil matter. I wonder if you know anyone who can investigate the dealership and publish for the world what else they have done. Maybe get the attorney general or someone to put them in time out.
Which state and government fees are actually legitimate? A lot of the so called "state" fees sound official but Im not sure which ones that I can decline
If it's taxable and included on the bottom line which the tax is figured on it's a dealer product or bogus fee that can be removed. Forcing you to purchase these items is illegal.
Basically it's supposed to cover the difference between what your primary insurance would pay and what you still owe on the car (Hence the "Gap").They're right, you can usually get in much cheaper than the dealer wants to sell it to you. The only caveat is you probably shouldn't get it from your primary insurance carrier as it sort of puts them in conflict with themselves and can be awkward.
GAP insurance is an admission that you overpaid for the car or finance terms. Whenever the car is worth less than what you paid for it or owe on it you are upside down on the deal. GAP insurance is useful in only the narrowest of circumstances. Another dealer scam.
Help! Im trying to buy a 2020 car out of state and the finance guy won't take the $1295 in dealer accessories off the bill, 2 of which are insurance items. I even quoted the FTC and the Clayton act confirming that is illegal. He won't budge.
In my opinion it is best to drive your current vehicle as long as you can. I know I will drive my 12' Altima car till it dies. That's why I always keep up with the maintenance which includes changing the CVT transmission fluid every 2 years. I change my engine oil every 4 months. Don't forget to change your coolant every 4,000 miles and your brake fluid every 4 years and power steering fluid every 50 to 75,000 miles. Remember it's your hard earned money that is paying for these depreciating liabilities. That's right LIABILITIES.
I actually called a dealer today for some information, the GM is who I spoke to as he deals with a few guys sent to him and a salesman who's the cousin of a co-worker. I was thinking of upgrading my 13' F-150. He actually was honest and said not to upgrade and continue with what I have due to the prices, the expensive tech inside the new -150's and to save up for when it's right time for what I want. That's a dealer I'll go to when the time comes, I'll just continue to sock away and save. I'll reward myself when I retire for my years of work.
I am interested in buying a 2025 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. Does anyone know if it is possible to buy this car "all in" {price, shipping/delivery, sales tax etc. etc. etc.} for MSRP or less? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you!
IMO Discounts on used cars are the biggest scams to watch out for. Maybe kevin will do a show on how dealerships use made up discounts to lower thier advertised prices to trick shoppers to the lot for these other scams he mentioned in this show.
Hired THG to get my Mazda CX-30 Premium Turbo Plus vehicle this week. Totally recommend!! Stuart is a pro! Saved me $3K, time and the haggling hassle!
Smart people will not buy right now... but we are the few.

How about the so-called Doc/dealer fee that here in Florida, Stealerships say, "Oh, it's Law," we have to charge you.

Thank you so much! Your comments are greatly appreciated!
My favorite I’ve seen - destination fee on a used car. LOL.
dealers get their c ustomers used to paying given fees, and they just put them everywhere, including where they don't have any application.
Dude!
Gap is often available through your ins co.

This is sometimes referred to as a "flat" if the bank gives the dealer $500 for every loan they generate.
It’s too bad there are so many low quality people working at dealerships, that don’t care who they screw over.

Kevin, you are certainly trying your best to keep us from being suckered into some worthless expense.
Thanks guys!
Kevin you forget the sunscreen or is the color balance just off?
I wonder how some of those scam dealers can sleep at night.
Thanks, Stuart working the deal right now on the new truck.

Please contact Liz at 701 441 3399 with the story details, and we will be happy to help put pressure on these fools!
And if the dealership suddenly burned down who would be the bad guy?

OK....What's GAP insurance?

I always get the otd price, when it comes to keys I get 4 oem fobs with the car. I specify not 3rd party

If you're replacing your coolant every 4,000 miles you either have no clue what you're doing or you have issues😂

The dealerships will say it's not a scam. It's a pecuniary enhancement apparatus.
So destination fee that is broken out on the window tag is a double dip?
If it's charged to you on your car contract as a line item, it's most definitely a double dip!
Nice
Your's seems better than Car Edge.
We advocate for consumers, 100%. That's the difference, and it's a big difference!
You forgot the most abundant gas in the atmosphere, nitrogen in the tires!!!!
Nitrogen in the tires, indeed!
@@KevinHunter for when 78 percent is just not good enough
When I bought my 1st trailblazer from Tracy Chevy, the salesguy added gap insurance anyway. No problems on my 2nd recently.
