  • I get a lot of the same questions about startup pitches to investors over and over, and I’ve yet to actually find a single RUclips video that covers how to pitch to investors holistically, from creating your pitch deck, running the pitch meeting itself, to following up after.
    In this video, we'll dig deep into a standard pitch deck outline (using RUclips's original pitch deck as a template!), storytelling best practices, tips for how to best run your pitch meetings, and suggested followup actions after finishing the pitch.

    Great advice. I’ve been told of a myriad of deck formats over the years and all have had an element of ‘argument from personal experience’. Your format resonates more with me than all the others so far. Rewriting my deck starts after posting this comment! Thank you!

    Thanks for the video!
    The most tricky thing is to get some PayPal mafia folks to the Team slide :)
    Many VCs (and top accelerators) explicitly prefer to engage primarily with founders with exits experiences or at least ex-C-levels at hot companies. So how can the rest, 99.999% of the world's founders, stand out? Only traction? It's okay, but it would be nice to outline it.

    • @nogatekeepers
      @nogatekeepers  Год назад +2

      Thanks for dropping the nice note and the question! I agree that a lot of VCs back pedigree or previous founding experience. I think in lieu of that traction as you mention is the simplest way to standout, but it's perhaps also possible to do so with a demonstrated pace of learning/iteration (e.g. very fast product launches and clear early signs of strong engagement even if not huge scale yet) or unique insights and knowing a problem space better than others

    Absolutely top notch content Wayne! Networking is one of the great challenges in today's lockdowns for entrepreneurs, specially us here in SE Asia reliving 2020. Intrigued by SignalFire's model, do you target SE Asia?

    • @nogatekeepers
      @nogatekeepers  2 года назад

      Thanks Farah!! We unfortunately do not, since we don't have anyone native to the SE Asia ecosystem on the team. I'm personally very bullish on tech in the region and broadly outside of Silicon Valley though!

    How much should a CEO pay himself?

    • @waynehu214
      @waynehu214 2 года назад +2

      Tricky question - in my opinion depends on a lot of factors: the company stage, the amount of capital raised and the amount of runway you have, how much revenue/cash the company is generating, how much equity you own in your company, and personal factors which have to be considered as well. A good topic for another video! I see anywhere from 25-100k for Silicon Valley founders at the seed stage.
