We went two months ago to all the same places and still, I have no words for the sheer beauty of everything we saw. Literally breathtaking. It's so so magical.
We couldn't agree more, Stephie. This was one of the very first videos we ever posted on our channel and we still remember it like it was yesterday. We've been talking about making a return trip and hope to make it happen within the next year or two!
Oh thank you so much for the kind comment, Sandy. This was one of the first videos we made, and while the video quality wasn't great, we still love going back and watching it! The music is from our friend Trevor Bystrom. It really did go perfectly with this video! ruclips.net/channel/UCXOp9aZkoxHohuLixUT5qTg

Thanks for watching some of our older videos Camila @thegirlclimber this thumbnail was one of my fave pics from the trip. Have you spent any time in Costa Rica?
Great tour of many beautiful places around Costa Rica. Can’t get over how green and lush it is there!! I’ve never been and have always wanted to visit. It always seems like an overwhelming place because there’s so many incredible places to see! This video helps give me a better idea of some sights and possible trip options. Love it. Thank you :)
Thanks so much for your support! Costa Rica can be overwhelming to plan. We settled on the Dominical area, but easily could have spent a week in other areas of the country. There are so many options I dont think you can go wrong 😉
Thank you so much, Nicky. This was one of our very first videos we ever made, and it was the beauty of Costa Rica that really made me (Jamie) realize that we wanted to get serious about travel vlogging. We still remember this trip like it was yesterday and can't wait to get back to Dominical and Uvita!
Wow, I hate you guys :D because I went to Uvita many times and I don't know all that places... I'm happy that you enjoy your journey... "In Costa I learn to be alive" Incredible song!!!!

We will be excited for you when you go. Costa Rica is amazing. In this video we really only explored a small area. The country has so much more to offer!
You guys are so full of adventure! I love it. This is a fabulous video and I like your music too. I must say, I'm a bit sceptic about travelling there with little kids, but this video made me want to get on a plane right now and go slide down that waterfall! My older kids will love it. Thanks for sharing this. Lindsy
Thank you for the kind feedback. The music is actually by a local music artist in our area! I could understand being cautious when traveling with kids. We can share that where we traveled to we felt very safe. Thankfully we did not encounter any unsafe or uncomfortable situations - except the drive up to our Airbnb! But we signed up for that when we booked and Airbnb in the middle of nowhere on a mountain haha
Thanks for watching ☺ it really was amazing. We hope you make it there some day too. We stayed around the Dominacal area..but the rest of the country has so much more to offer!
@@Explorcation So far, the tentative (probably 3 week) itinerary would look like this: start in San Jose, then Cahuita (for the Caribbean), swing back to Arenal, Tinorio, circle down to Ballena, possibly go to Sierpe (to check out the Osa peninsula) and finishing with the "obligatory" Manuel Antonio before returning to San Jose
@@TaintedMango Wow that is going to be an epic trip. We loved Costa Rica and only experienced on area - there is some much to that country. Hope you will be sharing your travels here!
The Dominical area is a very beautiful place and, so far, my favorite. I also went to Nauyaca falls - loved it! High tide at Ballena seems quite intense. When I went it was low tide and we could walk up to and on the rocks (the tail)
We agree! We loved the area. So glad you visited Nauyaca - it is a fun and beautiful waterfall area. High tide was a little intense on the Whale's Tail, i would like to experince it during low tide too. Did you explore other areas in Costa Rica? Or just around Dominical?
@@Explorcation This was our trek: landed in San Jose, then drove to Cahuita (Caribbean), swung back to Arenal (volcano), then Tinorio (volcano), circled down to Dominical and Uvita and finished with the "obligatory" Manuel Antonio before returning to San Jose. We drove over 1000 miles, hiked at least 80 miles and visited 4 waterfalls. lol
For some reason your most recent comment isnt showing up. 20 days wouls be lovely in Costa Rica. If you had to choose only one area to go back to which would you choose?
Always wanted to go toCosta Rica. I think we might stop there on our way home from Brazil. Do most people speak English? Nice video, look forward to seeing more!
silly question to an established channel so sorry in advance but what do I need to look up to work out how to put the Instagram link on our youtube channel header?
Hi, it is not a silly question at all, it took us a while to figure it out. After you click on "customize channel", put your cursor over the header and a pencil icon should appear in the upper right had corner of the header. Click on it and choose "edit links". Once you put your social media links there the icons should show on your header. So sorry it took us so long to respond, somehow I didn't see this comment until today otherwise I would have responded sooner :)
I LOVE watching your video!! We are going to spend part of our trip in Uvita and I'm so excited to see all waterfalls!! I heard a hike up to Nauyaca Fall is tough is that true? Thank you for sharing!!
Pearl Freed thank you! The hike was more challenging than I thought it would be..but worth it. It was a long hike up steep terrain. I would do it again but I would wear better shoes for hiking and bring more water/snacks. You can pay to have a vehicle take you there or pick you up..or ride horses. But we really enjoyed the hiking challenge. I hope you have a great time in the Uvita area!
Hi, thanks for sharing! I found this video via your review on TA. Which waterfall did you prefer, the one in Uvita (cascada verde) or Ojochal (El Pavon)?
Hi Dianne! We spent more time at Cascade Verde...there seemed to be more area to explore. People were in the water and some were climbing the waterfall. Some people were sliding down this waterfall. It was quite entertaining.
El Pavon is more secluded. It was neat to see but not much to do. The water seemed colder. The drive out to it was enjoyable and it is free. It is easier to walk to (Verde has steep stairs). But I preferred cascada Verde.
Thank you so much for your input! I was in the area last year but didn't get a chance to see either waterfall. We are leaving on Wednesday to return. . I am just about to show my husband your video. It is a great overall picture of the area. Thanks again!
Dianne Newman Thank you! My husband and I really enjoyed watching videos before our trip so I thought I would share ours. I hope you have a wonderful trip. We plan to go back someday too.
Thanks so much for sharing your video. We are going to Dominical in February for a week. Is there anything there that we absolutely HAVE to see? Any advise will be greatly appreciated!
Hi Dino, we had such a great time in the Dominical area. 4x4 is a must if you want to explore, we loved driving up into the mountains. I would recommend Nauyaca Waterfalls, we did the hike, I think it was $8. It was long but worth it. You can also do the tour via horseback. The Uvita Waterfall/Cascada Verde is much smaller but easier to get to and also beautiful. You pay the entrance fee at the restaurant at the top of the trail down. I think it was $2. The caves at Playa Ventanas are cool to see/walk through and the entrance fee was about $2. Make sure to check the tides to decide when you want to go, at low tide you can walk through them and at high tide the water rushes through them. As far as food, we enjoyed Baker Bean in Uvita for coffee and empanadas, Por Que No for breakfast (French toast), Jolly Roger for wings/live music/view and Mirador Los Curros for lunch/dinner and their view. If you like beer I would recommend trying beer from the local Uvita Brewery, Jolly Roger had a few of their beers. I hope this helps. Have a great trip in February!
