THIS COULD HAVE BEEN BAD! MY ROOFTOP TENT ALMOST FLEW OFF GOING HOME FROM PAINTED CANYON CALIFORNIA

- Off roading at painted canyon here in Southern California. On the way home it was super windy on the 10 freeway. My rooftop tent strap broke and my tent was sucked out of the side of the shell. I had to go to am/pm to buy tie wraps to hold the tent down so it wouldn't fly away on the freeway.

i'm never scared camping alone 2A , which you have the right to have.
To everyone using rooftop tents. After one season .the factory roof rack was destroyed. I installed mine with unistrut and will continue to use that now only. Mine was almost ready to fall off too. You need custom work to install most of them. Not a factory roof rack. They suck.
Mountain view California.. they want me to drive there and kick some ass.
Nice it’s pretty windy that way
Just another reason why I won't put a RTT on my vehicle. Seems like every group trip I go on, someone has an issue with their RTT. Either brackets coming loose and tent sliding, brackets breaking, roof rack separating from car top, etc. I never felt threatened or concerned out in the back country camping by myself. In the city different story.
I love my RTT easy fix and back to normal but was scary for a minute
