This is my backyard and glad you enjoyed your 1st beach camping. Your on the road Intro looked familiar til I read the 101 freeway sign reflecting the Cornejo Valley Area having lived worked Westlake til I retired few years ago. Thanks for sharing👍👍⬆️
@@artemisoffroad it’s a very fun place …… like you said where else can you camp on beach like that ?? I think your going to find? It’s going to be like that during the week also .. but anyhoo!!! Nice rig and setup.. be safe my friend
I live there. It's not the beach locals go to. too windy and strong currents. if they would have gone up the coast 15 minutes they would have reached Avila Beach. It's a south facing beach so its less windy and no current so the kids can play in the water.
Local here. No, you can't drive on the beach at avila. But it is a much less windy beach so a little nicer. I have to admit, I never see the beach as crowded as your video shows but then, as I live here, it made me think how often I actually get to go down there. Not often enough!
@artemisoffroad What privacy shelter is that in your thumbnail? I’m looking for one that doesn’t look obnoxious for when my wife comes out with me. Thanks!
Which part of the Pismo was it? When I was camping at North Beach campground there last year and drove to the actual beach, they were charging $5/day to enter and making sure that everyone is out by the dark. Or perhaps it's a different part of the beach? Would be really helpful if someone posts google map GPS coordinates of where exactly the camping is allowed.
So did you have to get a reservation? I was wanting to go next weekend but it’s sold out. If people are just staying without reservations I may try that too.
We got lucky and got stuck right in front of a group of camper. Gave them a good show digging the truck down to the frame. Traction boards are for sure a purchase down the road!
Thanks for the video. I reserved a camping spot for late next week and it gave me spot number 793? Are there marked spots or just where ever there is an opening? Thanks again
Hi! It’s basically a free for all on the beach. I believe the park services tries to limit the amount of people camping at once (although it still gets super crowded). Just make sure to air down if you try to go far back on the beach. The sand gets super soft (found out the hard way).
Just FYI in this communist state you can't take the carpool with a trailer and you must do 55 in the far right lane. Keep the carpool lane open for us legal non trailer vehicles...stick to the rules...thanks

Beautiful set up ?? And Great video. I’ve camped there many times back in the late 70’-80’s . Have fun.
Thanks! We want to go back for sure during the week, probably skip the weekends though.

Any time you drive on the beach you should air down your tires to 12-15 psi for traction. Weekdays are best and next time bring some sand toys.
We definitely want to bring toys next time! We had taken the tires down to about 22 (amateur move). Next time, we’re totally going as low as we can go
air down your tires next time, helps distribute the weight of your rig. Get an air pump to refill the tires when you get on more solid surfaces.
i use to live in oak park and i went to cal poly, SLO. what a great vid! thanks! 😀😀😀
I don't understand why you have very few followers, thanks for sharing your adventures

Good to know! Are you able to still drive on the beach there?

Jalama beach even better
Airing down might help!
Hey you are in my backyard 😂, fyi air down to around 12 psi and you can go just about anywhere out there
hi ya i'm in Bakersfield ty for the video :) love Pismo and Morro Bay reminds me of my home state's beach areas of SC

Because this was last minute how did getting a campsite work out for you?

So we ended up getting a reservation, but when we showed up, no one was at the front gate checking…
Very cool place, I want to visit.
So how do you camp on the beach? I'm confused website shows reservations but doesn't look like it's near water. Looks more like a park
nice rig! I didn’t go on the beach when I was there for fear of getting stuck. I assume you had traction boards, that didn’t help?

Gotta air tires down to 15psi
Nice Star Trek license plate!

@@artemisoffroad does it have to be only trucks or can I be safe in my suv?
But you don’t have a view can you park someplace where nobody parks in front of you?
I heard that the Beach at Pismo is closed permanently. Is That true at your campsite? Thank you for your comments. Much Appreciated.
It’s open
no its open
Does your truck have crawl control?
Yup! We tried that out for about a minute. After that minute, we ended up buried up to the frame
Nice video! What month was this? Just curious since all this rain
Thanks! This was around the end of September/beginning of October.
Great video !! Do you have to pay for camping there?
@@randyyun21 yes, I believe it's $10 a night plus fees. I think I paid $28 for two nights
Did they go around and check receipts or how does that work?
@@brianisom2661did they go around and check receipts or how does that work?
Do you have to make reservations?
When we went, we had to get a reservation on ReserveCA. But no one came around the check… go figure
I can i drive my car on the sand to my campsite?
you're allowed to, but its not easy with a car on the soft sand. You have to air down to about 10 psi if you get off of the hard packed sand
DO YOU HAVE TO PAY TO ENTER CAMP SITE?
You need a pass. Per vehicle, includes a trailer attached to it.
Crush some ranch Dorito chips in the taco salad 👍
What is the date
This was back In September
Y’all lost me once I heard the taco salad

Why do you look and sound like Edward Sarkissian ?
