I want to thank you good Sir my washer was not draining and then I came across your video with showing how to fix this I fixed mine as well and spent no money to do it just a little of my time. So thank you very much. Now some my have to recalibrate their washing machines like I did but you can look that up on RUclips as well or look inside your washer there will be a service tech manual at the top on the inside on the back side of the front panel it will show you how to do the code if you need to or diagnose the problem.
Writing this in January 2023. Thank you so much for this video!! Just saved the day for us. My husband did exactly what you did... Same issue ..a baby sock in the pump! Thanks so much.
Thank you sooo much!!! I’ve searched all over the internet and couldn’t find anything that was related to our issue. So detailed and easy to follow. We ended up finding my niece’s sock in the water pump. I felt like I was watching my dad which was very comforting. Much love from our family!
It doesn't happen quite a lot that you find exactly the video you need, but I found it. It is same model with same setup and exactly the same problem (also a kid's sock). Followed is exactly and solved the problem in an hour. The only thing was, it became a pain to get the cover back on. The slots didn't want to line up, but we got it on after a few tries. Thanks. Saved a couple of hundreds of dollars by not calling a repairman.
You’re amazing!!! Just took the water pump out and BOOM! one of my kids socks stuck in it. Took it out and it’s running like a champ! Thank you! Thought I was going to have to buy a new washer
This video fixed our washer! Thank you so much! It was a kid's sock that was pulled into the water pump. We're going to get a laundry bag to keep them together and out of the water pump. This was such an easy fix, thank you again, saved us a ton of money (would have had to make a service call on a federal holiday...flat fee for that).
You are amazing! I was using my neighbors washer (waiting fir ours to be delivered) and this EXACT thing happened. I love your step by step direction! You need a show. Sock removed!!
Thank you for making my day a whole lot easier! Searching online I originally thought my issue was the belt and began to take off the back. Then I stumbled upon this and realized I thought a sock at one point got stuck under the lid but I couldn't find it. I did what you said and now it's up and running. The only difference I had to figure out was how to remove the control panel because it wasn't held in by tabs. The panel had side pieces I needed to take off and then I needed to take out some screws.
My make but not my model and still helped anyways. A slight difference in configuration and what do you know, an old sock stuck in the inlet of the pump. Huge helpful hint for some of you out there try skidding your washer out and tilting it back to access the pump from underneath. I was able to perform the repair without disassembly of the washer body or the control unit.
I just finished getting one of my young son's socks out of the water pump, this video was extremely helpful and saved us from having to purchase a new washing machine!
Cool video. I didn't know it was that easy. I have to work on a new washer tomorrow. I don't even think it's a year old but it's not draining and it was sitting in an unheated room. Something may have frozen on it. Great video. It was a big help.
Thank you so much for this video. We had the same issue my girlfriends sock was stuck in the drain pump. Your video really helped us out. I was worried I'd have to drop a lot of money on a new washer and with this current economy and gas prices that would of hit our budget pretty hard.
@@RescueMoversDFW Dan, I've got my Kenmore all open & unlike your video the water pump will not come off no matter how hard I pull on it. Any idea?? Your came off pretty easy but mine seems to be welded on to the shaft. Need help.
Mil gracias Paisano!! Iba ir a Home Depot a comprar una, pero voy a seguir sus recomendaciones haber si la puedo arreglar. De todas formas muy práctica su explicación. Bendiciones. Guillermo
Thank you for putting up this video, I have a different model, but close enough. Mine had a baby sock in it too and once removed, my machine was back to working good again.
Great video! Had this exact problem.....sure enough the culprit, sock stuck in water pump! Thanks so much, I was ready to buy a new wash machine & decided at the last minute to give this a try. Glad I did!
Great video. Thanks so much for sharing. I am eager to try this. Will update when I'm done. Great instructions and comments as you are demonstrating the process. Much thanks again.
Watched this video once and everything else was smooth sailing !! Saved myself a lot of money managed to clean the engine and made sure all the gunk was removed ! De un Hispano a otro muchísimas gracias !
Gracias!!! T;hank You i followed the video and thier was a sock stuck in the valve just to give you all a advice when you take the pump out use a 1/4 rachet to turn the pump or valve it will save you much pain and headaches. Great Video and thank you for the tip.
I just had to come and say thank you I just finished it and pulled out a sock lol you are awesome even tho my washer made different I just figured it out and kept rolling I think im in the wrong business I need to start a trade tha k you so much for you very detailed information step by step you are the best
Do I let it sit for at least an hour before starting it again because now the lid lock is locked & it won't start washing restarted it and unplugged it
Hi brother I'm soooooo happy I look at your RUclips help me fix my washing machine is good now I use like 30 minutes to fix my washing machine only soooo happy I want say thank you soooo much to your help us
A quick note - the symptom of the washer stopping and failing to rinse and drain can be caused by a piece of small clothing getting stuck underneath the center agitator spindle. In my case, it was not visible and I only recognized this when I went to spin the agitator spindle around and the rinse cycle began to run. I fished around underneath the agitator and pulled out a small piece of clothing. Removing said clothing item ultimately resolved my main. Unfortunately, I didn't know this and ended up doing a pump replacement as "preventative maintenance" instead of problem resolution. *My lid-closed sensor apparently failed during my work on the unit, so I jumpered it with solid speaker wire and put it an order for a new door sensor. I followed this gentleman's instructions for the lid jumpering. As he points out, unplug the unit as your first step - even before disassembling the unit to get access to the switch connector. Maybe you can give me some advice with the knowledges you have about these devices, I have done everything you did and I didn't find anything in the pump then I put back again and my washer worked fine for 02 o 03 weeks and now is having the same issue, is not draining the water, the clothes remain soaked..thanks for your video and sharing...hablo español
Thank you so much for sharing this video! Does anyone know if the pump can be accessed through the bottom of a Kenmore series 400 washer, instead of disassembling the cabinet? Also would a clogged pump be the reason for old gunk/dirt particles to come back into the tub? I have completely scrubbed my washer tub and agitator, it looks spotless, and ran the “clean washer” cycle with hot water and Affresh literally 11 times in a row (empty, no clothes being washed) and still have flakes of old dirt/debris ending up in the tub.
Just flipped over my machine and yes you can easily access the pump from the bottom without disassembling the cabinet of the Kenmore series 400 washer 👍🏽
Shit Dude! The same thing happened to me. Couldn't believe it...I tried testing everything else and it turned out to be a sock in my damn water pump. Thanks for the video!
there should be some sort of easier way to deal with that tbh, like a set of screens or filter or something so you can get blockages out without removing the pump, i had to use a garden hose and syphon the leftover laundry water from the tank before i could do anything, that was the part that took the longest honestly
Mine will fill up and rinse will come on, but it won't drain. Before this happen it drained, but it wouldn't spin on it's own. When you go to spin sometimes it would activate and sometimes it won't without manually helping it start spinning then it would spin. Any idea what it is? I'm assuming it's not water pump since it is filling up on the beginning and during rinse. Now it won't drain or spin and I can't even help it spin like before the basket is locked even on spin cycle.

Thank you Daniel. I am 77 years old and I am going to try it. My machine does not drain fully or won’t spin .

@@cohara41 it should come out easy unless the shaft got stuck into the water pump but never seen it before. Sorry can't have other ideas. Good luck 👍
