Watching both your tournament videos. Sometimes when your not catching anything, and you finally start figuring them out. I feel myself rushing. Nice fish, that spot looks great
Awesome brother, best snakehead video of this summer!!! I never heard of snakeheads until I saw your early videos & learned tons from you, my first real summer that I got to fish & caught my first- now even more into snakehead fishing!
Thanks so much brother! I can’t wait until the championship round 🥳 Congrats and thanks for letting me know the videos help. Makes all the editing worth it 👊
Watching ur videos make me so jealous. I fished for them ALL last season and 3 times so far this year and have yet to catch one. I think I’m in the wrong areas. People are like o go to middle river….. that is such a big body of water lol
Thanks for watching brother. There are a lot of variables in play when trying to figure out how to change our tactics. With that said, Middle River is definitely good water. Are you targeting the upper most coves that hold the most grass? When it comes to finding Snakehead (in most waters), I advise people to go to the headwaters and find the thickest grassiest water they can possibly find.
Good luck in the finals I haven’t seen the whole video yet and. I don’t know if you made it but your content is amazing don’t see manny snakehead anglers on RUclips usually hate but I love what your doing you got my respect ✊🏽
Man my hero 🦸♂️ I’ve been going to the same spot all summer, I’ve missed 6 hooks set so far. Need a kayak, just don’t know where to start. I comment often, peace brother.
Love the video!! I have a question.. I’m from Jersey. If I was going to take the trip to Maryland and spend the weekend snakehead fishing, could you recommend me a spot I could go with a kayak that at least one day is a sure thing? Fishing in Jersey really sucks right now. I’m not a professional, but I’m not a beginner with no experience either. I want to take a few days and slam some snakehead, I just don’t want to take a trip not really knowing where to go and end up skunked with no fish. So a recommendation or two would be awesome. And by the video, it looks like you know your shit. Thanks a lot for your content.
Hey William and thanks for watching! Snakehead fishing is never a sure thing, but if I had to recommend a place to give you the best chance at it, I'd say either Blackwater, the Transquaking, or Chicamacomico Rivers (those two rivers are also in the Blackwater area). You can find the launch points on each in my video here: ruclips.net/video/FURLAhX_I6c/видео.html
Hey I just realized you replied. I thought I asked a question I wasn’t supposed to lol. I really appreciate your educated suggestion. Keep kicking tournament ass!
Thanks Mitchell! I’m enjoying the Baitcaster a lot. I still have a lot to learn, but something about it makes it more enjoyable to cast. Not being used to cranking down quickly on my smaller rig through def cost me a dragon out there! My main rig is a Curado 301HG paired with a 7’ extra heavy Cady Lynn Custom rod.
@@KambotroutFishing That setup will def horse them in I have one setup similar to that just for thick veg and thick grass ! Took me some time to get used to the leverage point in my bait caster
Congratulations on making it to the top five. I hope you win it all. On a funny note, that first lure you were using reminded me of a severed thumb 👍. Makes me wonder just how far you would go to win a tournament lol.
@@KambotroutFishing - have a number of them. I have a Banshee (spinning), 2 Wraith reels, a Crius and a Hyperion. The last 2 that I mentioned are 1st gen models and not as good/refined as the others. I often harvest them, but it usually depends on whether or not I have room in the freezer or know someone who wants them. They’re the best tasting fish in freshwater and have an excellent meat to body ratio. They’re also easy to filet, so if I need meat or know someone who does, I’ll often keep them. With that said, I’ll release them if I don’t have a need to harvest. Many people take an issue with this because they’re labeled as an invasive species, and most fisheries managers do highly encourage their harvest. However, the published science thus far has not shown invasive impact. I’ve actually done an interview series with John Odenkirk, a VDGIF fisheries biologist, in which we review the most recent science and legal requirements on the species (link below if you’re interested). ruclips.net/video/lceYaOj8P9M/видео.html Still, invasive impact sometimes takes several decades to manifest, so if someone does harvest intensely, I understand their position. For me though, they’re an admirable species, excellent parents, and incredible sportfish.
