Great video. Do you always use a trailer with chatter baits? Glad to know outgoing tides are best. I was told to go at low tide because it means the snakeheads are pulled out of the reeds, but every time I do, I don't see any baitfish moving.
Thanks Bob. I usually use a trailer with chatterbaits, but they’ve worked for me with and without. If they’re short striking, I’ll take the trailer off. The best tide depends on the body of water. If there are lots of reeds and heavy shoreline vegetation, I prefer an outgoing and low tide because during high tides, the fish will often be way up into the reeds and largely inaccessible. There are some waters where I prefer a high tide, usually where the hydrilla is very thick and becomes locked up on a low tide. One example would be Mattawoman creek. I don’t always chase baitfish to find snakehead. Instead, I usually find the structure and then target ambush points.

No luck yet, but I'm working at it. Want to get a third rod set up so I can always have a frog, chatterbait, and some sort of Mepps or alternate spinner or jig at the ready.
Hey Tomas. I’d head to a local crabbing supply shop and grab some floats there. Use one that’s bigger than what you’ve seen in most of my videos. Ask me why I say that 😏
Hey I’m having a problem catching snakehead recently. I fish off a dock on a creek and I can always see several snakehead at the surface. I cast my frog at them and the snakeheads just sit and stare at it or don’t bite it. About 10% of the time when I put a frog in front of there face they will bite it. Is there anything I can do about this or anything I need to know?
You certainly nailed it when talking about moving tides. I've seen catfish and perch shut down on a slack tide. You might as well reel in your lines, and take a nap till it starts moving again. Have you ever caught a bowfin on the Eastern Shore? I've never seen one but, then again, I've never targeted them.

Those are rod buoys to keep my rods afloat if I drop them in the water (which I’ve certainly done 😜) I use the tape to keep the buoys from moving up the rod 👍 www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-rod-buoy

Those are rod buoys to keep my rods afloat if I drop them in the water (which I’ve certainly done 😜)
