SheeeeeeeESH!
Big fat fish dude. Nice
That’s a nice frog there sir 👀
@@A.Blair_Fishing the fish agree 😏
@ I miss those fish.
That looked like a lot of fun!
@@stumessick9963 oh it was. I LOVE getting on big schools of crappie! Makes me feel like a little kid again
Nice vid 🐐 Im going out on the Wicomico River tomorrow for some crappie & Snakes if they bite 😂
Good luck bro 👊 I’m still considering going out tomorrow. Hoping the wind forecast suddenly improves drastically and opens some options up for me
Great video! Love all of the info, I feel like I knew some of it but don't know if I have ever combined it so concisely.
Thanks bro. The weather this winter may actually force me back to multi species fishing. Doesn’t like like too many warm days to bring the sneks back out to play
Nice, live in the Middle River area. It's been so windy and cold lately!
@@baltoravens1 it’s killing me. I can do cold, but not cold and windy. And the few areas I know that are well shielded from the wind are also now iced over or so blown out they’re fishable.
@@KambotroutFishing I know, one of my small ponds I fish was frozen over last Sunday. Going to be in the 50 starting on Sunday. Good luck if you head out!
@@baltoravens1likewise, good luck!
Do you use a pa12 or pa14?
@@aidanheasley8651 PA12. You?
@KambotroutFishing i run a new canoe unlimited twelve foot five, but i'm looking towards getting a pedal drive.
@@aidanheasley8651my buddy runs a NuCanoe with a tiller trolling motor and loves it. Pedals are a big plus tho
Wow !
@@LoanNguyen-jf6dc heck of a day! Wish the wind would die and warm up a bit!
You still using 30lb braid? I'm putting a frog pole together was thinking 40 to 50lb braid
@@Michaelhood0 yup, I still use 30lb. Some of my buddies use 40-50 without issue though
@KambotroutFishing im new to snake head fishing and got a pole and reel ordered wich will be my frog pole mainly so was thinking 40 to 50lb line ad I will be casting into lilly pads and on top of slop. Will be used for bas and snake head from kayak and on bank. Anyway I m in bear delaware. I did watch a tiny 1lb bass Thanksgiving morning
Don’t stop making these
Any tips for the winter?
I don’t got no live bait
Aim for the 3rd day of a warming spell with aid temps at least into the 50s. Found some shallow, south-facing coves preferably with dark bottom and fish from noon to sunset. That’s your best bet. Minnows are good to have, but #3 Mepps spinners and spinnerbaits are your best lure options. Good luck 👍
Boa tarde amigo, de qual pais esta pescando? Ou região?
Hey Gabriel, greetings from the USA! I do most of my fishing in Maryland but also some fishing in Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and a few other states.
WTH, were you guys using spider wire.. LMAO
Sweet that jump was awesome
Love these fish. Cant wait till Spring. Aside from the perch runs, I’m already ready for next season
Where can I get razor ciams
Depends on your area, but I usually get them from Anglers Sport Center. I’ve also gotten them from a few other bait shops in the general area, but I always call ahead to see if they have them before I go to the bait shop.
Maaaan this makes me miss summer even more!! 😂
Awesome. We all need to shower every now and again. You and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Steve.🎣🎣🎣🙏
Perseverance! Way to hang with it!

Yummy too.
I love it that was awesome Steve 🎣🎣🎣🙏
@@michaelzsizseri8015 thanks brother. At least my mistakes are fertile ground for memes 😁
Kambo, thoughts on frog fishing with a fast clip? Tacticalanglers 50lb clips to be exact
@@jayd2535 I rarely use them with frogs. In general, I think it’s a bad idea. The clips tend to sink most frogs, impair action, and can catch grasses. I’ll sometimes use them with larger frogs like the Teckel Series (honkers, marackers, etc.), but that’s the only time I’ll use them for frogs.
Hope you dispatched that invasive trash fish
@@iROXBEDDA NOPE all around 😁
@KambotroutFishing Snakeheads are garbage fish, yeah they fight harder than bass but they absolutely decimate crappie, bluegill bass and catfish populations.
The 🐐
That’s an amazing fish
I'm surprised he stayed there after all of those cast 😂👍🏾😎
Good stuff as usual The 29.5 was so FAT!
@@stumessick9963 those Potomac and upper bay snakehead tend to the THICKEST Snakehead I find. Love em
I read the title then looked up to see what the hell was in my video feed. I’m surprised it made it past RUclips’s censors! 😅
@@john2510 😂😂
Beautiful 🥲
God I love the diversity of the chesapeake. Snakes in the summer stripers in the winter. cant wait to get back from school for some stripers over thanksgiving
I’ve been thinking about jigging the stripers too. Tied up a rod today for em and I don’t even have a trip on the calendar 😂
How do you deal with your line on the lilly pads? Any time I cast into something like that, I feel like my lure spends more time in the air, getting over the taller lilly pads, than actually in the water!
It’s frustrating and problematic. My best three tips are these: (1) target the pad fields during high tide. Less air between the top of the pads and the water’s surface means less line hanging up on the pads. (2) try to mend your line and aim your cast to fit your line between pads. (3) use solid braid like X5 since it helps to cut through the pads on the hookset
"Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) strongly discourages catch-and-release fishing for invasive species like snakehead"
Yup
Always love the videos! I’ll be trying my hand at catching a northern snakehead in 2025. I’ll be much better prepared thanks to your video. And D&D is one of my all-time favorite movies!
Thanks brother 👊 I still have a lot of Snakehead video from 2024. Just need the time to edit it.

Awesome video Can i ask what Knot you use? Also you should add like a arrow pointer where the fish is going to bite cause sometimes its hard to see Also whats the biggest snakehead youve ever caught
Here’s a video of the knot I’ve been using most lately: ruclips.net/video/zVBKHja03No/видео.htmlsi=RUhw173irTIskzeX I also use a Palomar and Bangkok Hooker Knot: ruclips.net/video/f3tHllNT1kc/видео.htmlsi=GSX8o7CsQPriT0Fi I’ll add the arrow too lol. Wish I had the arrow out there in the pad field. Would make life easier on that end too 😁
@@KambotroutFishing Thank you. That Would make it easier in the pads But Thats a problem i want 😆 Also whats your Biggest snakehead of all time youve caught
Are you going to try catching snakehead in November?
Yessir. Already have once. Would try this weekend but it’s my wife’s bday weekend, so I’m treading very carefully 😏
Under rated as hell
💯 brother. It’s up to the next generation - and the true believers from ours 😜
Most fishing videos annoy the crap out of me. This is one of the best I've seen. Critical is the timber of the narrator's voice, and lack of over production. No annoying music to downed out the vibe of the experience. Smooth delivery of narration and easy going nature of the presenter takes me back to some of the fishing films that I grew up watching in the 60s and 70s. The experience translates and conveys a relaxed, fun, and not over hyped experienced. Well done!
Thanks for the kind words brother! I tend to have a mix of music and non-music, but hopefully my music taste is a little better than average 😜 I’ll have a few more “natural” vids out soon with the fall season. Have a good one!
only got one 6lb one in October i have to go back to the drawing board October was great but cant get any bite now bums me out
Season unfortunately coming to a close. Mepps #3 was the only thing they’d bite for me yesterday, and bite window was SMALL: roughly 3:45 PM - 4:15 PM. Then they shut down again.
Caught a nice slab of weave on that Big miss.. LOL
@@porkbeats bruh lol. Like a damn purse snatcher caught by Spiderman
That gripper better have a swivel because that snakehead will break your wrist
Where about are you catching snakehead/ with largemouth and striper mixed in? Eastcoast?
Yes, tidal tribs to Chesapeake. Very common in these kinds of waters
@ that’s crazy. I’m glad they haven’t got to me yet in Michigan, and hope they never do. I thought they were really isolated out there…. Guess not anymore.

@@corydudley2469 💯
Snakehead are? Really? They look gross.
Cajuns eat most anything, but never a snakehead. Fertilizer.
🔥 I'm going to go try to catch some today
Good luck! Got a good shot at it if you can find some wind-shielded waters, remaining grasses, and target coves/flats which get a lot of afternoon sun.
@@KambotroutFishing Ill Use Those Tips hopefully to catch one 🙏
@@KambotroutFishing Thanks Man me and my dad went I Ended up catching a 2.63 lb bass and getting another bite By fishing the remaining grass sadly my dad hasnt caught his first snakehead hes trying so bad 😆
Superbowl time!
@@barthuntfish lmao yessir
So cool. Yummy yummy in the tummy!
I’ve seen this knot twice now and without even hearing the pros or cons I can already tell you it’s fuckin pointless no matter what fish your targeting and if you don’t know how to tie braid to mono for a leader you shouldn’t be fishing
Do you have to use a thicker line for snakehead?
Yes you can get by with 30lb braid but might get bit off sometimes I personally think 45lb is the best
or you can use some of those metal /titanium leaders
@@rodney7780 I prefer nothing less than 30 pound test and I always run straight braid. I’ve never had use for a leader. I used to use 20 pound braid but in heavier cover I started breaking off the biggest fish. I haven’t used less than 30 pound test since then.
Great question.
@@colincap i caught a 8.5 pound bullseye sankehead with 20 pound braid 40 pound leader you just need thicker leader so that they dont fray through
