- I've wanted one of these for a long time, it makes the car look a lot nicer from the inside, and it has a tone of customising potential!
I (eventually) install a touchscreen double din Pioneer Radio.

One tip! The "universal cage" you're talking about that doesn't stay in place is actually do-able. On the sides of the cage you have small like arrow-head types of things you can bend out and then slide the cage in, and those "arrow heads" will try to keep the cage in place. :)
Bruh, you've put your steering wheel on the wrong side of the car. Check your local mechanic about that.

The universal cage was too small no matter what I did, it would still move about

BWTV you can get cameras which mount on the back numberplate - maybe you could try it?

Trying to do one of these now, where does the single hand break wire go to?? Losing my mind as cant find anything anywhere. Does it even need to be wired?
The hand break connection will need to ideally be wired to some kind of resistor, from memory that makes it so you can still use the device in motion
So 9 inch will never fit the car

I know this is daft but those little cut outs on the cage are for bending behind the fascia to lock the stereo in. Removal keys go down each side.

I have a golf city and it’s actually super easy! Don’t buy a cage like he did, get a mk4 golf specific dash kit and the deck will screw into in and it pops in no problem. If you have questions feel free to hmu! Instagram is Jared.18

I know this videos old, but I’ve been watching a lot of these videos for maintenance on my mk4 that’s new to me. It’s my second car. When he said this did it’s job about the cabin air filter I never related harder,’ mind had a nest being built on it.

It will fit with the cage you had mate I got the exact same stereo you just have to force it in, also if you cut the end off the green wire and just join it to somewhere metal on the bk off the stereo the DVD will work aswell

I'm thinking of buying a 1.6 SR mk4 which is a killer deal atm with AC, power windows, everything. Only thing it's missing is probably heated seats. I currently have the most basic ass model Punto mk2b and you coming back with the mk4 is really starting to sway me into the options of what I could do with it and what to look out for

Set your automatic level control to mode 1 and your sound retriever to mode 2. This will help with playing tracks at the same level. Obviously try the 2 different modes to see which sounds better.
I couldn’t tell if this has USB but if you have a green handbrake cable then you can also wire this up to a switch and play movies without the handbrake on. However, I don’t condone doing this while driving.... (obviously).
Appreciate the advice 👌 how would I wire it up to a switch? I've got the USB cable, but I'm not even sure where the handbrake sensor is 😂
@@BWTV Cheap and cheerful switch at Halfords, make sure it's a two way (on and off). If you have the green wire, add a crimp and connect it to one side of the switch and then ground the other side with a piece of wire to a bolt, then feed the wire into the glovebox via the light on the side. Officially it should be connected to the microswitch on the handbrake so when you apply it, it'll enabled the screen to show a picture. With this switch, you can just flick it on and it'll show the picture. This is how I've done it on my Pioneer Z3000DAB (DVD vers). Like I said don't get caught and don't use it while driving!
