Top Tier 'Tones. Probably one of the most underrated songs in their catalogue, and it has the most savage breakdown.
Centerpiece moment of the album for me. Saturday Night Wrist is an album that constantly feels like it's tearing itself apart at the seams, and if drifting between angrier self-titled and proto-Koi No Yokan with Chino screaming to decide doesn't capture that feeling, I don't know what does.
Excellent summary of my fav Deftones album. It's an album torn between serenity and vitriol.

Love the shoegazey chorus so much, and the fact Stef is just playing major 7 chords the entire time but making them sound so heavy

Funny thing is how much shit they took for this album. I think and have always thought it is just as good as any of their other albums. It’s always about where they are at, at that time. With every album you see growth and transition and they all age like fine wine. And yes, great song!
I think the band themselves have more of a distaste for it than the fans, as the recording process was a very dark time for the band
@@py16667 Very, very true. But I have also read countless reviews from fans saying it was a bad album and not them. Everything they put out is totally them.
Very good point though, as they seem to judge themselves down with Gore sometimes and I don’t get it. I know there were issues there as well but I still think it’s them and a good album. Peace!!!
@@bryanlewis7255 yeah I don’t get it either, it’s fine to prefer some of their albums over others, but almost no other band has consistently put out quality albums like Deftones & most fans seem to agree in that at least
I love this album! I got into deftones like a year after this was released.
I first heard white pony and my mind exploded. Then like a week later some guy gave me SNW cuz he didn’t like it.
I knew nothing about the band members, media or fans opinions until a couple years ago.
I was surprised it doesn’t get as much love..
I connected with it a lot when going thru some emotional shit ❤🥲
Today is the 30th anniversary of my first Deftones show. Halloween, 1992 in Rancho Cordova California at a warehouse party. And for 5 years I would see every single show within 200 mi of Sacramento. I knew they were something special but I never thought about them being together this long, congratulations to Deftones for creating a lasting legacy 🤘
I think this song is pretty odd, but I like the riffs, chords and the shifts from frustration to atmospheric. Also Happy 25 to Around The Fur 🎉

Deftones / Chino is the soundtrack of my life. They're pretty much exclusively what I listen to while riding my bike. And I've never had a vehicle. Lotta joy and bliss I've felt through the years! On a side note, the music saves me from flinching when some asshole driver yells at me or honks their horn for some formidable reason when I'm not in the wrong and just trying to get from point a to point b like everyone in their big metal gas burning box. I keep the volume reasonable so that I can hear what's going on around me and I don't flinch like I would if all was silent and someone punches the horn right as they pass me. Share the road! 💕💕✊✊
