Look, when it comes down to it, Emile is, by his own words, "on the spectrum" and Jon has said that he plays up a lot of his rage at emile. They're close friends, with Emile being innocently oblivious and Jon reacting in OTT ways to make fun of him.
Emile did not mean anything by it, and Jon was playing it up for the entertainment factor like he usually does.
TheAvianheart I see that more easily translated with the Derp Crew, the whole playing up the rage for entertainment. I didn't ever assume Emile was on the spectrum or wanted to admit but since it's by own omission; I guess. But then Jon gave many off the top of his head and relevant instances where he was independent. I get Emile does do the things that piss off Jon in a playful way. But I think in the moment Jon is very sincerely pissed. Yes I've even commented in other videos that they are real friends otherwise TRG wud have disbanded. So, by evidence of him being pissed, I do feel bad for Jon

If by insulted you mean him throwing insults at you to purposefully insult you, then yeah sure. But as this episode proves he's very capable of inserting foot in mouth and insulting people on accident.

In defense of Emile, he might not have been thinking if Jon could function on his own, but rather how productive he can be with the help of others. Jon does get a lot of help from the community, Reese, and the other Guys. Though, putting it all the way at the bottom... oof... that's probably farther from reality than Emile realized.

I think that he thought independent means that you don’t want other people in your life. Basically a lone-wolf. If that was the case then Emile’s rating was a compliment.
But that's literally never what independent means lol. It means you *can* do things by yourself. Independent doesn't mean lone-wolf in any definition of independent lol.

I’m saying that from what Emile was describing, (with Reese) it sounded like he thought that independent meant something along the lines of a lone-wolf. I think the only reason he thought that Jon wasn’t independent was because he didn’t know the actual definition of independence.

I gotta say, I'd actually love to hear Lucah's thoughts on what happened this episode, and on how Chugga related Jon's independence with her relationship with him. That could make this whole moment even more "interesting".

You gotta give Chuggaa some slack though. Him and Jon just had different contexts of the word "independent" so their answers obviously were different. Chuggaa immediately regretted what he said and apologized for it, but also pokes fun at himself, the light-hearted guy that he is, all in good fun. He just misunderstood and it was taken out of context. I would never say he's a jerk. Emile's and Jon's friendship over the years (despite the yelling and Mario Parties) is really genuine and they really do care about each other. They both just had fun with it, and that's what I love about TRG.
I will never understand why people assume they don't get along. I am sure there are moments of extreme frustration (as witnessed) but if any of them really were not enjoying themselves. . .there wouldn't be a TRG.
I never think that they hate each other tbh. They've shown that they care about each other. Friendships (TEMPORARILY) can get thrown out the window when it comes to Mario Party and things can get a bit chaotic.
Also, did Chuggaa confirm he is on the autism spectrum in this episode when he said, "That's what happens when you're on the spectrum," or something similar?

I think honestly Emile probably thought independent was the same as insecure. Since Jon came from a strict Christian family, it’s easy to think why Emile originally thought that he wasn’t. I truly don’t believe he meant no harm and just got confused

After watching this series I feel like there is a lot more content than i thought there was, but it feels like most of the modes that look cool are locked to only 3 player minimum so it doesn’t feel like there’s that much even though that’s not the case
Then again, it's not like these modes work that well with just two players.

As funny as it was seeing Emile and Jon have a funny moment there, theoretically you COULD define independence in the same way that Emile did, it's definitely subjective. Although I would argue that's almost definitely not the interpretation that they were going for in the game.

Oh god, the "How independent are you?" bit is the PERFECT example of cringe comedy. On one hand I was cringing like crazy and felt deeply uncomfortable, and yet I was laughing my ass off because Emile realizing that the question did NOT mean what he thought it meant and Jon's amused anger as he tried to explain himself is probably the perfect representation of their friendship. Like, only really good friends have a relationship like theirs.
I love how the first mini game basically summed up the ENTIRE relationship of TRG, especially with Chugga winning with John upset.

Edit: also I appreciate the fact that it seems like not many people are making a big deal about Chugga’s spectrum comment, I’m sure he wouldn’t want us to anyway. If anything it helps us understand him more.
Honestly, I'm just so surprised that even in a game like this John STILL gets bad luck.

Every time, he got the most probing, personal question that would be offensive if the other guys were off the mark.
Really? Emile got a question about being a sore loser and one about being a bad dancer. Both of those could have been quite offensive if he wasn't the sort of person who can laugh at himself.
Well, I hadn't seen the sore loser one yet and the dancing one varies from person to person. Gossip, independence, and being artsy (since that is more general and technically could include dancing) are subjectively worse.
I don't know, personally I think I would be more offended by the sore loser one, but that's just me. Tim also got a few bad ones, like the 'Can you sing?' and 'Are you athletic?' ones, since being called a bad singer or lazy could be insulting.
Well, yes, and I respect that. I just think that given John's job being creation and creativity as well as being part of a large web of connections considering his job. Also, the independence is kind of a staple in his personality, so.
