Tanner Zuzga I feel bad for Jon almost every recording. I came to TRG a chuggaa fan not knowing Jon. But objectively how do u not see that Emile is a dick here
Look, when it comes down to it, Emile is, by his own words, "on the spectrum" and Jon has said that he plays up a lot of his rage at emile. They're close friends, with Emile being innocently oblivious and Jon reacting in OTT ways to make fun of him. Emile did not mean anything by it, and Jon was playing it up for the entertainment factor like he usually does.
TheAvianheart I see that more easily translated with the Derp Crew, the whole playing up the rage for entertainment. I didn't ever assume Emile was on the spectrum or wanted to admit but since it's by own omission; I guess. But then Jon gave many off the top of his head and relevant instances where he was independent. I get Emile does do the things that piss off Jon in a playful way. But I think in the moment Jon is very sincerely pissed. Yes I've even commented in other videos that they are real friends otherwise TRG wud have disbanded. So, by evidence of him being pissed, I do feel bad for Jon
"We lose you in shopping malls a lot" that would be a hell of a thing to have announced over a PA, "ProtonJon, ProtonJon we have your Chuggaa waiting for you in security"
"Independent in terms of reality." This explains a lot. Jon exists in his own reality, where 75% of the time, he rolls a 1. Emile took a hard hit on that one. But Jon even said, "It could have been worse."
Starlight Shifter I thought that they would be cute together when she and Jon did LPs on her channel together but didn't want to just assume. Then I saw her Twitter.
Melodie Tanner I learned of it through Jon’s Twitter whilst I was getting prepped for a cousin’s wedding that same day (not all that far from PAX West actually).
If by insulted you mean him throwing insults at you to purposefully insult you, then yeah sure. But as this episode proves he's very capable of inserting foot in mouth and insulting people on accident.
In defense of Emile, he might not have been thinking if Jon could function on his own, but rather how productive he can be with the help of others. Jon does get a lot of help from the community, Reese, and the other Guys. Though, putting it all the way at the bottom... oof... that's probably farther from reality than Emile realized.
I think that he thought independent means that you don’t want other people in your life. Basically a lone-wolf. If that was the case then Emile’s rating was a compliment.
But that's literally never what independent means lol. It means you *can* do things by yourself. Independent doesn't mean lone-wolf in any definition of independent lol.
+longliverocknroll5 I’m not saying that independent means lone-wolf. I’m saying that from what Emile was describing, (with Reese) it sounded like he thought that independent meant something along the lines of a lone-wolf. I think the only reason he thought that Jon wasn’t independent was because he didn’t know the actual definition of independence.
I gotta say, I'd actually love to hear Lucah's thoughts on what happened this episode, and on how Chugga related Jon's independence with her relationship with him. That could make this whole moment even more "interesting".
You gotta give Chuggaa some slack though. Him and Jon just had different contexts of the word "independent" so their answers obviously were different. Chuggaa immediately regretted what he said and apologized for it, but also pokes fun at himself, the light-hearted guy that he is, all in good fun. He just misunderstood and it was taken out of context. I would never say he's a jerk. Emile's and Jon's friendship over the years (despite the yelling and Mario Parties) is really genuine and they really do care about each other. They both just had fun with it, and that's what I love about TRG.
I will never understand why people assume they don't get along. I am sure there are moments of extreme frustration (as witnessed) but if any of them really were not enjoying themselves. . .there wouldn't be a TRG.
I never think that they hate each other tbh. They've shown that they care about each other. Friendships (TEMPORARILY) can get thrown out the window when it comes to Mario Party and things can get a bit chaotic. Also, did Chuggaa confirm he is on the autism spectrum in this episode when he said, "That's what happens when you're on the spectrum," or something similar?
I think honestly Emile probably thought independent was the same as insecure. Since Jon came from a strict Christian family, it’s easy to think why Emile originally thought that he wasn’t. I truly don’t believe he meant no harm and just got confused
omg the idea that Jon and Tim lose Chuggaa in the mall and have to look around for him like he's a lost child is hilarious to me (reminds me of they're first T-shirt ad video with him running up the escalators)!!! LOL XD

"Okay, so um, let's move on to the next mode and never talk about that ever again." You know it's a good day of recording when it ends on that note. XD
After watching this series I feel like there is a lot more content than i thought there was, but it feels like most of the modes that look cool are locked to only 3 player minimum so it doesn’t feel like there’s that much even though that’s not the case
4:30 Wow. It wasn't even slightly to the left, Chugga set it completely to the left. Is there a moment where he's not crapping on Jon? (Intentional or not)
You have to give both Jon and Chugga the fact that they're able to discuss this kinda thing though (and take it with a sense of humor), even if Chugga is horrible at explaining himself.
Oh god, the "How independent are you?" bit is the PERFECT example of cringe comedy. On one hand I was cringing like crazy and felt deeply uncomfortable, and yet I was laughing my ass off because Emile realizing that the question did NOT mean what he thought it meant and Jon's amused anger as he tried to explain himself is probably the perfect representation of their friendship. Like, only really good friends have a relationship like theirs.
I think what chugga was saying was that you are an exponentially better person when you have other people around you and lets not forget the forset fire you started in your house.
Gaming Warlord It’s possible they haven’t. Prior to it becoming an internet sensation, he only ever did it when that theme was playing. It’s possible that in all their years of being together that theme never once came up.
Given that independence answer, all I can imagine is that Space Ghost bit where he's got Moltar on a leash treating him like a dog only with Emile in place of the former and Jon as the latter. XD
As funny as it was seeing Emile and Jon have a funny moment there, theoretically you COULD define independence in the same way that Emile did, it's definitely subjective. Although I would argue that's almost definitely not the interpretation that they were going for in the game.

Really? Emile got a question about being a sore loser and one about being a bad dancer. Both of those could have been quite offensive if he wasn't the sort of person who can laugh at himself.
Well, I hadn't seen the sore loser one yet and the dancing one varies from person to person. Gossip, independence, and being artsy (since that is more general and technically could include dancing) are subjectively worse.
I don't know, personally I think I would be more offended by the sore loser one, but that's just me. Tim also got a few bad ones, like the 'Can you sing?' and 'Are you athletic?' ones, since being called a bad singer or lazy could be insulting.
Well, yes, and I respect that. I just think that given John's job being creation and creativity as well as being part of a large web of connections considering his job. Also, the independence is kind of a staple in his personality, so.
I love how the first mini game basically summed up the ENTIRE relationship of TRG, especially with Chugga winning with John upset. Edit: Thought there were multiple minigames this episode.
Jonathan Wheeler: Completely dependent on Reese, according to Emile. And yes, being on the Spectrum means your mind is...alien. At least, Sayaka told me that...
“...But Tell Us How You Really Feel: The Game”! 4:34 In Emile’s defense, that is a fair question: independent in what regard? Decision making? Doing tasks? Financially speaking? Overall? If we’re talking about financial independence for instance, I don’t know exactly how Twitch partnerships work in that regard, but I would think that Jon is maybe somewhat financially dependent on his Twitch viewerbase given the many donations he’s received. Definitely not to the extreme that Emile put (there is no defending that); that’d imply that Jon would be completely reliant on others at least financially, and even outside of that narrow definition, Jon’s not totally dependent on someone else; it’s just that he’s also not 100% independent in all aspects. Not a lot of people can say they are, if anyone. There’s always something you have to depend on to get through life, I feel. Oh, if only Tim knew what would happen to Jon on his second HC. 12:10 And then The Price is Right happened. “Oh nooooooo!” (I have no idea if he was crying as he was being tortured, but I imagine that a tickle attack like that would induce some tears from all the laughing). 13:20 This game’s bringing out a good amount of thought provoking questions. 14:26 From MP5 & 6, I’m inclined to agree. 19:10 Given his Drawbage stick figure of Shovel Knight during the totally normal April Fools Day edition of Arcade Pit that happened earlier that year, I think Jon’s selling himself a mite short here. 21:06 The cat girl noises can attest to that. “We lose you in shopping malls a lot”. Well that explains what happened with the previous episode as far as Emile’s direction giving went. 22:08 Oh, don’t worry about having to talk about that ever again; that’s what the RUclips comments are here for.
"You don't think I'm independent at all?!" "REALLY!" "I'm legit hurt by this!"
"How useful are you as a human being? *Not at all.* "

I feel kinda worse for Emile honestly. Since he didn't actually mean it.

I don't keep up with Twitter very often to be honest but when I found out I definitely squealed.
Melodie Tanner I learned of it through Jon’s Twitter whilst I was getting prepped for a cousin’s wedding that same day (not all that far from PAX West actually).
It is officially confirmed that Tim and Jon lose Emile in a mall now.
I like how Emil and Jon had the most hard hitting question and Tim just had the simple one.
I feel like this episode proves that it's impossible to be insulted by Chuggaa because he is functionally unable to understand words or meanings.
If by insulted you mean him throwing insults at you to purposefully insult you, then yeah sure. But as this episode proves he's very capable of inserting foot in mouth and insulting people on accident.
You mean like the vernacular?
He's had genuine hatred for some Animal Crossing villagers
I am seriously starting to believe Chugga is legit stupid. I haven't heard a single thing he ever said that was smart or knowledgeable.
He's more knowledgeable about games than social interaction, which is entirely fair, lots of people are like that.
Another great moment, "Jon's lack of independence"
Well... with Superman...
I haven't finished yet...
Oh, you mean the ring thing, right?
Jon's lost independence. Emile's lost enough, already.
Tristan G Now it's Tim's turn...
Starlight Shifter Um, juuust an fyi, but Jon DOES NOT like people bringing that up anymore. In fact, he's sick of it and, frankly, so am I.
He doesn't Let's Play as a profession, so of course he's going to put literally every else ahead of Superman lol.
I think that he thought independent means that you don’t want other people in your life. Basically a lone-wolf. If that was the case then Emile’s rating was a compliment.

Well, yes, and I respect that. I just think that given John's job being creation and creativity as well as being part of a large web of connections considering his job. Also, the independence is kind of a staple in his personality, so.
l mean they're all independent grown men who live in their own house right? I'm surprised Chuggaa would think he wasn't independent in *some* way.
Bowserslave Well Jon lives with Lucah so if he was thinking about it that way his answer makes sense
Wow Chugga, that was harsh.
I can't decide if Jon's salty or just plain insulted
I think its a little bit of both, actually.
"How well can you sing?" What an easy first question for Tim to answer.
Also for Chugga.
Chuggaa's Hiker Dance changes everything about the dance question...
I love how the first mini game basically summed up the ENTIRE relationship of TRG, especially with Chugga winning with John upset.
Edit: Thought there were multiple minigames this episode.
Thats gonna be in 1Press2LP top 10 moments.
Most likely!
See? Even the man himself knows what I'm sayin'!
I mean, lets be honest. It's going to be voted number 1. No question about it.
Will it be voted for number one?
*Not at all.* LOL
I VOTE JON'S INDEPENDENCE AS NUMBER 1!
Imagine like a super serious drama that started in a community all because of Wii Party U.
0:32 You think you can take me , i won't forget you - ardainian soldiers Xenoblade chroncles 2 v1.0
Emile question: "How well can you dance?"
Like a Hiker Dance pro!!
This is still one of the greatest TRG videos ever made.
"You should watch Terraria Hardcoooore!" You said it Tim. You said it.
Omg, the exchange between Chuggaa and Jon in regards to Jon's independence is making me lol so hard I thought I was going to spit out my dessert
It's my dream to have Chugga and Jon go on Dr. Phil
Oh god
Jonathan Wheeler: Completely dependent on Reese, according to Emile. And yes, being on the Spectrum means your mind is...alien. At least, Sayaka told me that...
Homura Akemi I certainly don't feel like I belong on this planet.
My mans ncaprisun made a buddy holly refrence😘
8:10 oh my goodness that Conversation made me laugh harder than l have in years
I agree with Chugga's interpretation on what it means to be independent.
Jon will never let Chugga live this down.
One more thing they will never let Chugga live down
Do You Know Mii, officially a more friendship destroying game than Mario Party!
Is nobody going to mention that they played a 30 minute game, 3 times, in the span of 20 minutes?
if a mii has kids
is it their babii?
