Thank you thank you thank you. My wife and I got ‘Spiritfarer’, not even knowing about it until your video, and we cozy up with it all the time now. So gentle, peaceful, soothing, and goodhearted. It’s a new favorite here at our house ❤️ Thanks again! Will definitely be getting ‘Cloudpunk’ and ‘Paradise Killer’, too-look very much up our alley 👍
I was one of the very fortunate and lucky people to have gotten a Ps5 for the Xmas. I just finished Spider-Man Miles Morales. While it isn't anything groundbreaking in terms of gameplay, if you played the previous Spider-Man game you'll get the picture, it does have all the great themes an pitfalls of a typical Spider-Man game. There's love, betrayal, redemption, family, responsibility, friendship, etc. You take up the role of Miles Morales, the new Spider-Man of NYC while Peter is away, to embark on carving out your own story and destiny as a hero. It felt great to play a character where you help people, and generally just love doing it. Bonus, it takes play during the holiday season with a weather system that can change from Sun to Snow. It's minor, but it's made it on my list as a game to play during the holidays. Now, if we can only get a Spider-Gwen game! Happy 2021, Pam! Thank you for all the great videos in 2020, looking forward to trying your suggestions. Can't wait for your videos in the New Year!
Happy to see games with creative narrative structure and innovative gameplay mechanics show up on year-end lists! Your inclusion of Sojourner, Umurangi Generation, and Paradise Killer pushed them closer to the top of my next-to-play list. Thanks. This year I loved 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim - its narrative structure being a form of gameplay itself ✌🏾

You have absolutely sold me on "Sojourner", that looks fantastic, and reminds me of "Where the Water Tastes Like Wine", a somewhat underappreciated little gem. Great work!
Once again you do not disappoint, another varied and interesting list! The way you talked about Haven really brought home the realisation that the medium as a whole just does not do that kind of wholesome, casual physical affection and it is something we badly need to see more of. Love that necklace, too!
Thanks! I found all my jewelry I had put away in a drawer somewhere so I'm trying to start wearing it again. I totally agree about physical affection in games, it's something really nice to see that doesn't get portrayed all that often.
I watched so many reviews of Cloudpunk, but never have played it. Now I'll have to get it for sure. Lovely video and lovely list of games Pam! I recently started Paradise Killer and it is intoxicating! The dovetailing of the text and the music, with the interesting visuals on top, make it such an attractive title. It makes me want to dance! I made a list of my favorite games I played this year, but most are from earlier years (Rocket League, Mario Maker 2, Breath of the Wild, Witcher 3, Advance Wars, Gun Nac, Power Stike ll, GG Aleste games, Kingdom 2 Crowns, etc). Anyways, thanks for another really good game video.
Ori 2 is superb. The original was good, but this one feels like one of the best Metroidvanias I've ever played. It was a bit rough at launch, but the Series X version runs flawlessly. It's great, and I hope Game Pass got even more people to try the series.
Ori 2 is my favorite game from this year. I like her list in that I had never heard of many of these games, so it will give me something to look into rather than the generic lists I usually see with only sequels/remakes/remasters from AAA publishers.
Ooh, Wasteland 3 looks like something right up my alley! I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else, so I wouldn't have known about it otherwise. Thanks!
I loved your best of 2020 selections. Your top 10 are definitely different and super appealing. I've only played SpiritFarer, which I loved! Subscribed! 😁
I got myself Wasteland 3 right before Christmas. I can't wait to play it and I'm glad to hear that you liked it as well! Hades and Spiritfarer I also want to buy either when they're on sale or when I finished some of my backlog. Havent heard of Sojourner, Haven and Cloudpunk before but they look super fun, interesting and beautiful. I need to add them to my wishlist ASAP
Hey, First video of the channel I’ve watched and I love that there is actually something relevant about each game. Most game reviews are a little obvious and just about basic excitement levels, this one actually thinks about something special to say about favourite games. Also great that there is a mix of non-violent and violent games, love that, most reviewers are macho game obsessed. Thanks, I’ll be watching more videos and I subscribed.
"A Shark-PG". Nice! Some beautiful-looking games here, many of which I was unaware of. Not having had a gaming device for a while, I am stunned at how much video games have become an artistic medium in their own right, exploring hugely imaginative ideas in a way that would not be possible in other formats: a dog's consciousness downloaded into a vehicle because its robot body was sold and who now questions your decisions.....? - absolutely brilliant! Another great video - thanks!
What ! No..... The last of us 2 at 1st place lol. Very interesting selection it's so wonderful to hear a different best of 2020 games list. Compared to the same record that the needles got stuck on everywhere else. Mostly backlogs for me from before 2020.
I'm a fan of Tripwire. Forgot all about Maneater. Saw it on sale on Epic for $14 (with coupon). Will buy. Can't wait to play that. Thanks for the top 10!!! & Happy New Year!
Was looking forward to this! Hades was my top game, was glad to see it made your list. Lot of stuff on there I hadn't heard of, so plenty to check out in 2021.
I had never even heard of Maneater before this video but now I'm completely sold on it. Looks a bit like Abzu, which I absolutely loved. Thanks, Pam. (EDITED TO ADD: Hell, I just love your taste in games in general. Damn near all of these look like perfect games to play after a stressful day at work for me.)
Great list! Spiritfarer is definitely top 5 for me as well. It filled a void I didn't know existed. And I'll have to check out paradise killer, it looks pretty interesting!
Very cool list. My interest is piqued on Paradise Killer and Umurangi. My fave this year was Xenoblade Chronicles DE and Ghost of Tsushima. But in the World according to Pam, it would have to be 2018 game, The Last Remnant Remastered. Spent close to 200 hours on it non-stop.
I didn't play too much this year because a lot of things, including the pandemic, but among what I could play, I share the love for the best games between *_Streets of Rage 4_* and *_Risk of Rain 2_* . Anyway, your list is a really cool one, without most obvious choices we see around there, choices those which seem a great _déjà vu_ , lol... That *_Cloudpunk_* was the great surprise, since I heard nothing about it. Go check it asap. Other ones I got interested in are *_Umurangi Generation_* , odd and with nice graphics, and *_Spiritfarer_* , which looks epic, but those type of graphics, damn... Hate them... Although that fluidity and the elements you mentioned, make me give a chance to it. *_Ori_* is simply superb! I played the previous game only but considering what I see and read about that current game, I definitely have to go for it. Thanks a lot, Pam. Well done as usual. Hope you have a great year.
Great video! This was a very diverse list! Thats great! It even have two games I dont know before. Thanks Pam and I wish you a happy new year. I am looking forward to your videos in 2021 :)
Umurangi represent! As someone who takes photos in photo mode of games, this game was made for me. Also the music for it is made by the talented RUclipsr ThorHighHeels.
Oh, I didn't know that! I've seen some of their videos. It's funny, I don't really use photo modes at all in games, but I love when photography is an actual game mechanic.
Great to see Ori so high up, feels like it got forgotten on other GOTY lists. Paradise Killer has definitely been on my radar to play too, looking forward to it.
I need to check out Paradise Killer. It just got on my radar (and subsequently, eShop wish list) yesterday. I have to give the Final Fantasy 7 Remake my vote for favorite game of the year.
Hi Pam. Happy holidays. I really enjoy your lists. You always play games that I don't see others playing, Including myself. I hope next year that your number one game is vampire the masquerade.
Holy crow! I just played through the *demo* of Signs of the Sojourner and I already got the score stuck in my head, am diving back into Station Eleven, and thinking of how I could get a game of Dream Askew going online. Apocalyptic caravans FTW!
Happy New Year, Pam! Let's hope that 2021 will be much better than 2020. Best wishes to you, Will and - of course - your pets. I hope you're all well. Funny though, I didn't even know most of the games on your best of list. And except Wasteland 3 and Ori and the Will of the Wisps none of the games are my cup of tea. But it's always fun to learn about games you don't know. As for me, I spend alot of time with Hollow Knight and Morrowind this year and now - even if it is a technical mess on Xbox One - with Cyberpunk 2077. The story, characters and world building in this game are extraordinary in my opinion. Again, best wishes for the new year.
Wow I feel like I’m slacking I really didn’t know about Paradise Killer but it gives me heavy Danganronpa vibes with much more exploration. I’m excited to try it, great video!
I can kinda agree with the danganronpa vibes though i like the characters on Pk more. Plus i feel the gameplay flows better. Danganronpa is better in making you feel like a genious
@@basman2006 It made me feel like an idiot, but I guess that just goes to show how bad I am at games and logic. Those games were awesome to play for the story and characters if nothing else.
I haven't seen many people mention Cloudpunk. I found just driving around the world, weirdly relaxing. The music was quite good too, and reminded me a little of Blade Runner.
I'm working through a backlog of other games mostly, but great list as usual! A few too go on my "get too eventually list" especially Wasteland 3. I like that like Disco Elysium last year your number 1 this year is something very original.
One thing I look for with best games lists are the games that I missed out on. So many of them are just the same titles shuffled around and then a comment section filled with people bickering. I love that there are some really interesting titles here. My favorite podcast mentioned a few of them so I picked up paradise killer and I'll get umurangi generation as soon as it hits the switch. I heard the switch port of cloudpunk doesn't run well though unfortunately. Thanks for making such a cool list. Subscribed :)
I knew that your list would be like no other on RUclips 😊 The games you chose are the reason that I love your channel so much 💗 I wish you to have a very happy new year with a lot of happiness and a lot of games of course 💝 I would like to watch a list on your favourite detective games in the future! Keep up the good work 😊
Haha the way you review Maneater... like an add for a stres relief vacation. Unfortunately it's not released on PC yet. Great List and i hope you also played "Yes your Grace" even if it was not mentioned. To me, it was also one of this years highlights.
'Spiritfarer' is a game I've had my eyes on earlier this year mainly because of the full animation and the classic platform styled gameplay. I'm relieved that it's catching some attention. :)
If a remaster counts, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is my top game of the year. If any game I can think of deserved a remaster, this is it. Yet it's a small miracle that this happened. Considering the state of the modern gaming industry it's amazing this game was tapped and I am thrilled that it was. In every way this is the Kingdoms of Amalur you remember just with a few quality of life tweaks and looking even better than it already did. Sadly I missed out on the Collectors Edition because Amazon screwed me on my preorder... but that's a rant for another time.
great list, really like the ones that you can tell are near and dear to the person vs what they just think are the 10 best for everyone. i skipped paradise killer, but i see it pop up all the time that i might have to play it. my top 10: 10. ITTA 9. Ghost of Tsushima 8. Kentucky Route Zero 7. Desperados 3 6. Ori and the Will of the Wisps 5. Nioh 2 4. Streets of Rage 4 3. Huntdown 2. The Last of Us Part II 1. Hades
I really love Supergiant games. When Bastion came out, I was drawn to the narration while playing, then I heard the soundtrack. I hope they always have Darren Korb make music for their games. So good!
I like the game with the flying car and the dog, I love dogs and that dog looked happy in the photo, like the dog wants to be a real dog. Sweet video, alot different from other critics.
Oh wow, Maneater! Funny how some games make you go, "shit, that was this year?". The Ori games have been an amazing duo. Can't wait to see what they do for the next one. Forget Animal Crossing, hugging your cat in Spiritfarer has to be the most simple, yet emotionally satisfying thing in 2020.
A RUclipsr reviews the past year as if it were a game. He says last year he played a game called "2020," which was a survival horror game where you go through a pandemic and you suffer permadeath if you die; the open-world design is a waste because you are stuck at home, and replaying is impossible because the saved game deletes itself. The video and the comedy didn't quite work for me, but I liked the concept of it. You may go to Yongyea's channel to see it.
I def need to play Spiritfarer. Looks so quaint. I however, did not like Maneater due to tech issues, and it crashed on me twice. The sharking was fun for a couple of minutes til' I got bored of eating away. Glad you like it though.
Wasteland 3? I haven´t played a lot these years but it would be cool to play Syndicate by (Bullfrog`93) or a game in that style ;) 12:07 maybe the dog AI was named after Albert Camus? (love the way you pronounce Camus ;)
Very interesting list. Far from the usual. You made me curious about some of these games. And I have to agree on Hades and Spiritfarer. Hades was expected, but Spiritfarer was such a pleasant surprise! And Doom Eternal would probably make my list too. Yeah, I know :p
Of any of the end of year best games list, this was the most interesting in I never heard of many of these games. Other content creators look as if corporate suits made them pick every AAA remaster/remake/sequel on their lists. Ori 2 was my favorite game from this year.
Spiritfarer is definitely on my list. That game is all heart. I almost always have a smile on my face while playing it. Except for the goodbye scenes. The Pathless is shaping up to be on my list. Monster Sanctuary is another. I haven’t played it yet but I’m almost sure Sakuna of rice and ruin will be on the list once I get my hands on it. Is it against the list rules to put a game that didn’t come out this year but you did get into it this year? Because CrossCode is amazing! Yes yes, Hades is on the list of course. Supergiant never disappoints.
@@Cannotbetamed1 Did you like their previous game Abzu? If you did I think you'll like it. As Abzu is journey underwater, The Pathless is feels like Shadow of the colossus. But totally it's own thing. Beautiful setting, beautiful music, intriguing lore to discover. Its a super relaxing game. Perfect for early morning quiet times or a rainy afternoon.
Solid list. I only just recently started playing Paradise Killer, on the recommendation of a rather eclectic good friend. He said, "I can't even describe it; just play it!" While I normally hate first-person perspective in games, the atmosphere, eccentric cast of characters, and delightful soundtrack (which I play all the time) more than made up for it. I started playing Cloudpunk with a bit of reservation, as it had mixed reviews on Steam. I'm not a fan of the blocky "Minecraft" style of graphics, though you really don't notice it. I love cyberpunk as a genre, and Cloudpunk is, I think, highly underrated. Hades was one of my favourites of last year. I love just about everything about it, and it kept me wanting more. Despite its humourous take on Greek Mythology, it is actually surprisingly faithful to the source material. I found it highly addicting, and kept wanting to go back for just one more run! 😁
@@Cannotbetamed1 it is pretty awesome. 😁 My wife, who's not a gamer at all, absolutely loves it. She's also a fan of the soundtrack to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Unique picks! I wish Soujorner had Ori art style! Wastle3 was cool never shot a big statue faster and regretted it after! Just wanted to know if i could take it down! lol

and what a game it is. I re-played it last month for the first time since launch. Masterpiece.

Welcome to the channel!
I knew that your list would be like no other on RUclips 😊 The games you chose are the reason that I love your channel so much 💗 I wish you to have a very happy new year with a lot of happiness and a lot of games of course 💝
I would like to watch a list on your favourite detective games in the future! Keep up the good work 😊
Best detective games is a great idea.
Haha the way you review Maneater... like an add for a stres relief vacation. Unfortunately it's not released on PC yet.
Great List and i hope you also played "Yes your Grace" even if it was not mentioned. To me, it was also one of this years highlights.
Maneater is for sale on the Epic game store. I did really like Yes, Your Grace. In fact I replayed it just recently when it released on GamePass.
@@Cannotbetamed1 Awww :)
@@Cannotbetamed1 ...and a big thx, for recommending Maneater, what an amazing game.
Only played ori from this list. Some of the titles really caught my attention, thank you!
No problem!
really interesting list.. I'll have to check out some of these in the future! Thanks for sharing
No problem 🙂
I love the art prints behind your shoulder (it’s nice to notice the new ones that rotate with your other videos)!
Great video Pam!
Thank you!
@@Cannotbetamed1 your welcome!
I really appreciate your love for indie games.
This could be also my list. Very good selection
Great list! A few titles I completely missed this year
Happy New Year, Pam 🎊🎉🍾👍
Very interesting and unpredictable list not filled with AAA stuff :-) Nice chance of pace.
Thank you for sharing these good games! Happy end of the year 😀
Happy new year!
great list, really like the ones that you can tell are near and dear to the person vs what they just think are the 10 best for everyone. i skipped paradise killer, but i see it pop up all the time that i might have to play it.
my top 10:
10. ITTA
9. Ghost of Tsushima
8. Kentucky Route Zero
7. Desperados 3
6. Ori and the Will of the Wisps
5. Nioh 2
4. Streets of Rage 4
3. Huntdown
2. The Last of Us Part II
1. Hades
I hadn't heard of ITTA, it looks great. Added to my list. The visuals look very similar to Children of Morta, which I really liked last year.
@@Cannotbetamed1 i skipped that one and regretted it, but then i dl'd it on gamepass to play shortly.
I really love Supergiant games. When Bastion came out, I was drawn to the narration while playing, then I heard the soundtrack. I hope they always have Darren Korb make music for their games. So good!
I hope so too! Bastion is still my favourite from them
I like the game with the flying car and the dog, I love dogs and that dog looked happy in the photo, like the dog wants to be a real dog.
I really enjoyed Spiritfarer, Loved the style of graphics. Thanks for all the great videos in a pretty strange year Pam 👍
You’re welcome 😊
I def need to play Spiritfarer. Looks so quaint. I however, did not like Maneater due to tech issues, and it crashed on me twice. The sharking was fun for a couple of minutes til' I got bored of eating away. Glad you like it though.
I like smooching in my games, I'm gonna have to try out Haven. What a great list of games. Have a safe and happy New Year!
Thanks Diego, Happy New Year to you as well!
Great list, Pam! Happy New Year!
Thanks, happy new year!
Wasteland 3? I haven´t played a lot these years but it would be cool to play Syndicate by (Bullfrog`93) or a game in that style ;)
12:07 maybe the dog AI was named after Albert Camus? (love the way you pronounce Camus ;)
Yes it’s named after Albert Camus.
Very interesting list. Far from the usual. You made me curious about some of these games. And I have to agree on Hades and Spiritfarer. Hades was expected, but Spiritfarer was such a pleasant surprise!
And Doom Eternal would probably make my list too. Yeah, I know :p
Spiritfarer was a great surprise. I hadn’t heard of it at all and then it just appeared on Game Pass one day.
@@Cannotbetamed1 Yep. That's how I found it too. Decided to try it just based on the art. One of my best decisions of the year
Of any of the end of year best games list, this was the most interesting in I never heard of many of these games. Other content creators look as if corporate suits made them pick every AAA remaster/remake/sequel on their lists. Ori 2 was my favorite game from this year.
Another great video from Pam, let's see if there is any good to download, Im in need of new and fun games.
Awesome video great work keep it up
After this year I could definitely go for more games with excellent hug animations and plenty of smooching 😅
Yes, I hope more of them continue to be released
Cyberpunk 2077 got me in the feels a few times in that regard!
A shark who is out for revenge.
Well, that could be a better premise that a plumber who is out to save the princess ;-)
I'd really like to play The Pathless but I don't have a PlayStation at the moment.
Gotta check out Spiritfarer. Thanks for the heads up!
No problem :)
Paradise Killer is one of my favorite game soundtracks, I spin the vinyl all the time.
@@Cannotbetamed1 it is pretty awesome. 😁 My wife, who's not a gamer at all, absolutely loves it. She's also a fan of the soundtrack to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
2020 was a bit disappointing because of LOU2 and Cyberpunk !! Happy new Year Mrs Pam !!!
Happy New Year!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Pam! 🎄❄️⭐️☃️🎁
Great Top 10 List, Pam! What did you get for Christmas?
Resident Evil 3 Remake, Coffee Talk and Last of Us part 2 was some of the highlights for me this year.
Coffee Talk was good, I liked that one.
happy new year :)
Sounds like Camus is the French existentialist philosopher off the same name. He's great and very approachable.
Unique picks! I wish Soujorner had Ori art style! Wastle3 was cool never shot a big statue faster and regretted it after! Just wanted to know if i could take it down! lol
The fight with the Gippers must have taken me an hour. There are so many of them.
