Thanks for posting this video. It helped me get the panels off my 2001 MPV. I used a small screwdriver for the u-clip on the inside door handle rather than the rag method. Swapping out the handle only took about 20 mins thanks to this video. Much appreciated!
Perhaps an easier way to make the final adjustment to the push rod is to use bent nose needle nose pliers to reach behind the lever and squeeze the plastic pin while pulling out on the connector. You can then rotate the connector to adjust it. I hadn't watched the end of your video when I did it this way and it worked OK. If you get the black stuff on your hands (and you will) you could use carb cleaner or another solvent to get it off. Just my two cents...
Omg thank you so much!! I laughed when the bolt dropped, mine dropped too. Make sure you move the rod up at the end. I had the whole thing put together and the door didn't open.

thanks for tips on getting the handle on and off, and the door panel. i have a leak because the water barrier inside the door must have come loose. looking.
Check out Ebay - I found a brand new outside handle for less than $10. Local wrecking yard found one for $90 and Mazda quoted $181. I'm sure they both came from China.
Very easy job, but instead of using a rag use a small flat screwdriver to push down the U clip cause using a rag might break the in door handle and don’t forget to remove the side bolt
Hey, wondering I also have a 2004 mpv and the rear passenger door glass won't stay up. It goes to the max down but seems the motor won't go up as it should.
The replacement handle that I purchased online...the rod hole on the handle is smaller then the hole on the original one so the rod doesn't fit. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem and I drilled the hole a bit bigger on the part that the rod goes through.....
