Nice review, I certainly remember the Chuck Wagon commercials. I picked up this game for a premium price, certainly wish I had picked up back in the day.
Thanks Defender! Back in the day I didn't even know Ralston had the game available, but certainly knowing now I would have picked up a dozen or more! :)
Some have made claims that this contributed to the crash. It makes sense at face value; it is a poorly made game designed to cash in on the gaming craze, but then logic is applied. Not a single shop stocked copies, and it had low sales and production. The unsuccessful selling strategy also resulted in most copies getting destroyed. As such, it's one of the rarest and most valuable Atari VCS/2600 games.
Ive not heard any claims about this particular game. You come to expect and avoid companies like Mythicon and Froggo... but when you cant trust titles from Atari itself (like Pac-Man), then you have ruined customer confidence.
@@ReviewAtari2600 I knew someone who lived in Canada when Atari was big and he played Pac-Man on it once in a while. I remember asking him if he didn't like it, and he said it was amazing the Atari could do a Pac-Man game, so he didn't care if it wasn't exactly like the arcade original. In comes the Ms. and Jr. sequels, and Atari proves you can make a faithful conversion on such limited hardware. I did find the flickering in Ms. Pac-Man more intrusive though.
