Awesome video .seems like that rig is dialed . And I’m with you on the desert lizard shocks. They always seemed to have to much flex for me and let my trucks tip out . And now I think I will try the dravtech so for That I appreciate you . I always look forward to your videos so please keep them coming sir .
Thank you, the DL from what I've found do not work on every style chassis well. If you have a chassis that suffers from body roll like the Gen8 it will basically correct that entirely. This UGRC chassis just doesn't work well with the DL shocks. Hope this helped explain the shocks a little better, thank you for watching as well
If that’s the same oil I put in those shocks that’s helping keep The truck planted also by slowing everything down. I’m pretty sure I had 50wt up front and 70 in the rear with the pen springs.
Awesome video! I’ve not heard that rule of thumb on tire size to shock size but makes sense. The Dravtech are good shocks, there was another brand I think SBG mentioned but I can’t remember the name and I’ve never tried them personally. Team associated shocks (like what come on the Ecto) are really good too. Yeah that totally sucks about SCrednecks place with the tree falling on it. I would assume homeowners insurance would help but it would take a while. Prayers for him and his wife, that’s a huge setback. I’m really hesitant to use concrete on any of my course. Pretty well permanent after that.
@@NEO-RC I've got some hydrolic cement holding some stuff in place but I just don't go nuts applying it, some hits with shop hammer it'll jar loose for sure. I have a set of Element shocks I actually prefer thr Traxxas ones honestly. A buddy I uses to talk with a lot he was into the comp stuff pretty deep I believe, he always told me if you keep the suspension travel to about equal to tire size always seemed to work for him best. Honestly I've found this true for me as well. I absolutely love the DL droop setup but this chassis suffered tremendously with literally over travel ot was a prime example of having to much articulation which is some situations us fantastic but for the most part was just cumbersome in most situations.
@@RcDungeon I have 96mm Dravtech on my comp crawler and I’m thinking about going to 85mm on the front. I think the rear might be okay but definitely the needs shortened. I’ve only ran it once in camp so have a lot more testing and tuning to do. I’ve never had the Traxxas shocks on anything other than a Traxxas but they do good, they stick every ounce in a while but, not complaining.
@@NEO-RC I always take mine apart and rebuild with my silicone shock assembly grease so far any shock I've built using that stuff never leaks or has any kind of sticking so far they always work smooth. Everyone complains about the Vanquish shocks leaking and after reassembled with this silicone grease my Optic hasn't lost anymore shock oil at all.
@@RcDungeon yeah, all the shocks I’ve used o-ring grease on haven’t leaked or been sticky, but I haven’t rebuilt or even messed with the Traxxas shocks yet, they’re still as they came from the factory. Haven’t messed with vanquish shocks, my Phoenix is still all factory shocks and doing good.
@@NEO-RC my Optic shocks leaked pretty bad when I got it. I had one Trx4 shock literally lock up on me on the trail and ruin the seals so now anytime I get one I immediately take shocks apart and clean and reassemble with my shock grease. When I run out of this stuff I'll be upset lol!
@@brianmorrison2846 yah they might, that's why I didn't chop mine up and ruin it because so many guys bobbed and chopped them now the one's not hacked apart will be worth more lol!

@@SCRedneckRC1 Thanks Rc brother hope you all are doing ok with the storm recovery 🙏
It's performing much better now bro
Yah probably invest in some DravTech shocks when I can for it. That chassis just isn't setup to accommodate a droop suspension
