As far as I know, in South Korea, people usually have no filter about what they say to a person about their looks. They make comments about your weight, appearance and other things like this in a very casual way. It's like a daily occurence. I am not saying that these things don't happen in other countries but it has been way more normalised in South Korea.

Tbh this show starts off very weird but it DOES GET SOOO much better like im shocked how much i liked it in the end
GUYS! I dont know if others have recommended already but D.P is also a great show! Its similar to Bloodhounds bc its action packed and lead by two guys who become friends, but each episode is a different case kind of like with Woo Young Woo! Its way darker than Bloodhounds though.
Season 2 came out not long ago & each season is only 6 eps. Check it out if you got time (and if you'd like to ofc) ❤

Yess I’ve been waiting for this!! Criminally underrated kdrama
The fact that someone is doing this show has made me so happy. I just finished it today, and it was a mind blowing experience.
I experienced every single emotion during this ride. Even discomfort, yet that isn't a good or bad thing. This show hits the uncomfortable areas for me 110%.
So much more could be said. But that can wait until the finale reaction. Also, Flower of Evil is another genius show. Hopefully, y'all do that one soon. Thanks for another great reaction. 😊

Me too, it's definitely well made but I lost interest after ep 2. Also it falls into the same SK trope where the "ugly" person just becomes conventionally attractive (like with the shows Lookism and the one about an overweight woman who gets a magic skinny version), which I feel is really counterintuitive to any message about the mistreatment of ppl who don't meet those beauty standards, because then the audiences don't have to actually see and accept those ppl.

ive grown an odd opposition towards the word "accept" because i feel like if i accept it, theres the chance that they, the person, does not, so i never accept anything that could be someone's flaw, unless they accept it, if so, sure, if you know what comes with it and youre not just unnecessarily rebelling for the sake of it and going "obesity matters!" because thats just not, you know, and still accept it, ill respect it and accept too, rather than obesity matters, if one would go "this is who i am, and i accept that, i am happy with the life i live right now, so i dont mind really" then yeah
situation 2 the person's an asshole and they accept that part of themselves in a way that isnt narrow minded

@@grumpysphinx4911i think this show was a bit different tho, she didn’t get surgery to become conventionally attractive. i mean, she DID but only after she committed murder. she didn’t gain the attention of people in a socially acceptable way, which made her plastic surgery completely different from a character suddenly becoming good looking. lookism was trash because he just became good looking and there was barely any lesson. it was “oh looks dont matter, but let me make the mc attractive anyway”. in mask girl, she did it to change her face and escape from a society that constantly wronged her. ironically, her face changing was actually her taking her mask off and becoming comfortable and true to herself. despite her good looks, she didn’t care how people looked at her. and everyone still hated her regardless of her looks
theres also a focus of womanly love in this series, the love between a mother and daughter. the love between two women. despite it being a show about women being dissatisfied with their looks, the core parts of the show are the relationships between mother and daughter. the plastic surgery is used as a metaphor
@@grumpysphinx4911but it's not really same as Lookism, I think the reason she wanted to do plastic surgery it's because she was not accepted by anyone, not even her own mother. It was too much for her

Revenant is completely being slept on internationally. The plot was much better than mask girl. I personally only liked the first 3-4 episodes of Mask Girl.

But personally I feel like it kinda loses itself as the episodes go on

@@alexisehimen3795this was different cuz for other kdramas, they’re locked into 16 one hour episodes so they have to pad out for time which makes the midpoint extremely fucked up in terms of pacing. this show didn’t have those restraints, they just kept including unnecessary scenes. i do think it actually picks up towards the last 3ish episodes. but the midpoint is pretty meh

We're probubly getting a NEW anime next year to quench our AoT itch.
Onee-Sama and the Giant. Read the first 14 or 15 chapters that are out right now and it's striking many of the same notes that AoT hit very HARD and VERY WELL!
If this doesn't get an adaption I will be appalled. And with the betrayal in the "family", lost future tech, the EXPLOTATION of people's by governments and the Church, it's geared up to be a real shocker nowthat this ball really seems to be rolling.
