The Karen that was reading someone else’s mail can be arrested for mail theft which is a federal crime, and stealing someone’s mail is also a federal crime
The OP of the hospital story should have file an identity theft case. It will be much easier to fight the damage.

Also mother: Let me ruin your life by forging your signature, stealing your identity, bankrupting you, change the locks on your apartment, hold you against your will, emotionally manipulate you, almost destroy your relationship.
How in the heck did the hospital even accept the note, banning OP's boyfriend, when they were clearly not in their right mind? You know from the accident, surgery and all that medication? Clearly Op is the only one who could ban anyone from seeing them. If the mother tried that, then there would need to be confirmation from Op. But how could they give it, whilst delirious? Should've been an inquiry into it all. I've been doped up on anesthetic to the head for surgery and then strong pain meds and there's no way the nurses, doctors, security should ever accept that OP would be even able to lift a pen to write anything. Wouldn't the police be obligated to call up to determine OP's condition? How could they accept that it was OP giving instructions and sounding healthy, (not doped up on medication and recovering,) if indeed OP was in the hospital? You can barely form words for a while afterwards. Let alone sound healthy and put together.

Nosy neighbor story in the US at least would've cost nothing to fight report it to the postal service tampering with opening someone else's mail is a federal crime. The fact it was a private and personal letter containing financial information wouldn't of gone over well at well

As for Karen the lawyer, and Karen the nosy neighbour, what can be said that in the end they got what they deserved. For the woman who had the accident, and her entitled mother messed up her life completely. She forged your name, and did business forging your voice, to everything she had no permission to do. She kept you imprisoned in her house for a month and forceable kept you from leaving, had business sent to you under her forging your signature and permission, and the worst is she kept you from your real family. Had your boyfriend and children kicked out of your apartment on false pretences, etc. You should have sued her for all of the damages, hurt and pain she caused you while you were obviously medically at a disadvantage. She also stalked you, had her family harass you and did little petty things to get back at you as well. No good for parents are they!! She had no right to blame your boyfriend for your accident, so she took the opportunity to screw you over! I hope you were able to explain this to your boyfriend and get back with him to be a happy family.
