    There is nothing like a clear and visual presentation to help in the installation. Simply being able to see which direction you were unscrewing the water connection made all the difference for me, as the plumber really tightened that connection down snugly and I always get confused as to which direction to unscrew upside down connections. The inly thing stopping me from purchasing from you directly is that I live in Canada - but you really are doing a service here!

    For the Toto S550e, is it supposed to feel loose once mounted to the toilet? Everything snaps in place as it should but it feels like there's a little bit of wobble left and right when compared to my other bidet seats like the brondell and biobidet which are firmly snug. The base mounting bracket seems really secure with no give at all, its just the toilet seat once mounted on it.

    • @ManyBidets
      @ManyBidets  2 года назад

      We do sometimes see some wiggle. It often depends more on the toilet and bidet combo than the bidet or toilet itself. You can always try a little mounting tape between the mounting plate and the toilet. We often find that helps to make things wiggle a bit less.

    • @hopefullyhelpful1
      @hopefullyhelpful1 Год назад +2

      Mine feels loose also at the front when it's firmly locked in place at the back. It's a bit disappointing to have such a well-made seat with so much technology wiggle as it does at the front. Granted it's not a lot of wiggle, a half of an inch to an inch and once seated on it, the rubber pads on the bottom of the seat grips the front top of the rim of the toilet well enough that the seat doesn't move. Still being Toto's top model and this price I would expect it to be at least as firm as a properly mounted non-bidet seat. That all being said we'll see if it's bothersome or could lead to early wear issues or if I'm being persnickety.

    • @sagecreekwitt3301
      @sagecreekwitt3301 Год назад

      Mine is also very loose feeling. It's too much slop. Drives me crazy! I can't imagine this wobble being acceptable in Japan.

    • @ManyBidets
      @ManyBidets  2 года назад +1

      If you're saying you have a spare water supply, yes, you could just run the bidet seat line to that instead of using a T. The trickest part is you may need an adaptor, as the threads will likely not be the same size. Assuming you can find the proper adaptor, you should be all set!

    Is it okay to plug in the bidet without the water hooked up to ensure it boots up/works?

    • @ManyBidets
      @ManyBidets  10 месяцев назад +1

      You do not want to plug it in without the water running to the seat. When it turns on it will run a quick "start up" to make sure everything is working as it should which includes running water to the seat. If the water is not turned on it can cause issues. You need to have the water turned on before plugging the seat it!

    Great video! Does the S550e allow for auto-flush? Or is that a separate function? Many thanks!

    • @ManyBidets
      @ManyBidets  2 года назад +1

      It's a separate function. There are 2 things needed:
      1. A washlet+ seat and toilet that's compatible with autoflush
      2. The proper autoflush kit
      Auto flush is tricky, because it requires the seat and the toilet to communicate, and what's more, requires a configuration where the toilet can be flushed without use the flush lever or buttons. That's the reason you can't just pair any toilet with a TOTO washlet and get auto flushing. To learn more about washlet+ units, I highly recommend this video: ruclips.net/video/4OLs-_RTTrk/видео.html
      If you have other questions about washlet+ units, don't hesitate to ask!

    How much wiggle is the seat supposed to have side to side?

    • @ManyBidets
      @ManyBidets  3 года назад +1

      Hello Claire,
      This is a fantastic question! It's also a hard question to answer, because we've found that it's hard to quantify wiggle. There's not a good way to make sure everyone is supplying the same force on the seat when trying to see how much it wiggles. For that reason, we recommend going to a local TOTO showroom, and seeing if they have your seat on display. If they do, see how much wiggle it has when comparing it to your own. You can find a TOTO showroom near you using this tool: www.totousa.com/find-a-showroom

      Thanks for sharing! We absolutely do find, that in most cases bidet seats (or washlets) work better on two piece toilets than they do on one piece toilets. That being said, not all one piece toilets work poorly. Some work better than others. A really great way to pair a one piece toilet with a bidet and have it be a perfect match would be to get a washlet+ unit like these: ruclips.net/video/4OLs-_RTTrk/видео.html Thanks again for sharing!

    I bought a toto s550e, but when I tried to put in the rubber mounting bolts, they wouldn't fit through the holes of the toilet. Either the holes in my toilet are too small, or they just were drilled in properly to begin with and taper in too much. Any suggestions? Is there an alternative bolt solution I can use to mount the seat that doesn't use the top mounting rubber bolts?

      One solution and it's what I did was I mounted them from below. You have to squeeze the top of the rubber flange of the bolt into the holes while twisting as you're pushing them up. It takes a little doing but once you do one of the other one easier.

    Thank you for the video guide. A problem that I am facing is that the top of the T connector screws in only about halfway up the flush tank’s inlet pipe, leaving a gap of about an inch on the thread. As a result, when I turn on the water supply, there’s a leak from that spot. The two other connections of the T namely the bottom connection to the water supply and the side connection to the bidet seat are both fine, with no leaks, snug fits. I just can’t seem to get the top connection from the T into the flush tank right, it’s leaking. What am I doing wrong?

    • @ManyBidets
      @ManyBidets  2 года назад +1

      Almost every time that we run into leaking from that area of the T, it has to do with the fact that the rubber washer that should be in the top of the T is not. Can you unscrew the T, and check to make sure that the rubber washer is in fact in place? The T should not screw up onto the thread all the way, so that part is not a problem thankfully. Let me know if this does not resolve your issue.

    • @Palamon69
      @Palamon69 2 года назад

      @@ManyBidets Thanks for the reply. I checked the T and the washer on the top is indeed there, and there does not seem to be any visible defect in it. In order to rule out the possibility of what you suggested, I tried to connect the main water line directly with the flush tank (bypassing the T altogether), and I still found it leaking. What could be causing it to leak, I wonder? A friend suggested using plumber's tape to stop the leak, but the Toto installation manual said not to use tape (as far as I can remember). If using the tape solves the leak problem, I am happy to try it, although I have never used it before.

      @ManyBidets  2 года назад

      @@Palamon69 Good troubleshooting! Eliminating the new element as a test was a very good idea. Finding that the problem continues if we go down this route indicates to me that we're dealing with a change in the setup. i.e. I think maybe the pipe coming out of the toilet got cross threaded, and that's leading to issues. Replacing that part might be your next best step. Plumbers tape might work, but you're right, TOTO recommends not using it.

      Hello John, Thanks for sharing your concern. This video is particularly about installing the seat, not about the other aspects of the seat. We did not see resetting the seat as part of the installation process, but it was a topic that was on our to-shoot list before you brought it up. As you stated; "sometime during the lifetime ownership of the unit". While we agree, that's not what this video aims to over. If we covered everything a TOTO owner needed to know over the lifespan of owning the seat in an installation video, it would be so long, no one would watch it. That being said, while we try to cover everything someone is looking for in a video, we have stopped saying "everything you could possibly need to know", because we are human, and sometimes we miss things. In this case, it was something intentionally left out, because this video is about installation, not about troubleshooting.
