Great video, thank you!!! I had water settling in my drivers side rear seat foot well. I cleaned the sunroof drains, and also resealed my air intake under the hood. It was a great way to learn my vehicle but didn't fix the problem. My issue i finally figured out was the drainage hose from my A/C to firewall (located behind and above the gas peddle), was disconnected pouring all the water from A/C unit directly into my car, under the floor mats, and settling in the lowest part of the vehicle. An easy reattachment of the house to firewall with a little silicone to keep it in place fixed the problem. Good luck to all.
Thank you Ben this was my issue too but it was just clogged, so the water was backing up and coming mostly out the right side of the reservoir behind my glove box
Good info, thanks. I have been trying to track down a passenger side leak on an 04 S60. I had to replace the blower motor, which had gone bad from water getting into it, or maybe just old age, it was the factory original. So I took out the glove box and glove box frame and the carpet. As I wanted to dry it out and make sure all water leaks were 100% gone before reinstalling everything. Even if you fixed a leak years ago I would suggest at trying to lift the carpet to let it dry. And then you can check if all leaks are really stopped. You can unbolt front two bolts for the seat and pull up the carpet around the those bolts, then pull off the door side trim so you can lift the carpet up and feel around under it. Or take it all out, the center trim parts are easily removed. You can drive without carpet or glove box. I would not leave the glove box in the car, as it may move around and get damaged. Then you can put something under, like plastic bottle to keep the carpet up and let air in. Again I suggest just pull the carpet out. It is carpet over foam and comes out in one piece.
Nice video. My driver side is repeatedly getting water in it. I have vacuumed it twice now and the water returns. I have driven through some deep water lately due to hurricane Florence. I am going to check on mine as you did.
Thank you for your response. Yes the video was a little confusing. It was one of my first ones. I had multiple problems the finished results is what I was mainly showing in this video of the fix I had come up with for the sunroof drain leaking problem. I also had another issue with the ac condensation drain plugged up and was also causing wet floorboards, I didnt make a video of that. Sorry for the confusion but I hope this video did help you in some regards.
Does Volvo know that they are making tens of thousands of cars that leak (like mine)? This crap is all over the internet. Not really something I would expect from Volvo.
Robert Lucus also let it air-dry for as long as possible on a good hot day if pulled in the garage or someplace where it's not going to get wet leave the windows down and let it air-dry
Robert Lucus also I had to park mine on kind of a downhill grade to get all the water to flow forward so I could get it all out of the entire floor pan
actually, you still have a problem. shoving the tubes a few inches into the hole doesnt solve the problem. it still leaks into the cabin. the hose has to go all the way through the body down to the bottom of the car.
Robert Lucus after vacuuming out all the water I could possibly get from the carpets and floor pans I then sprinkled a lot of baking soda below and above the carpets to pull that smell out but yes eventually it did go away
Yes same happens to mine, pulled up the carpet and padding parkerd the car facing down hill so all water would run forward and used a shop vac,, got it as dry and sucked out off the carpet and pad as I could, then used alpt of baking soda spread under the pad to help odor
Great video, thank you!!!

Got a 2007 Volvo XC90 and somehow the water got under the floorboard so bad you can hear it swish. Did you run into this? If so, how did you drain it?
