- Up-side-down flies can be super-effective when targeting predators at the bottom in surroundings with snags and other thing the fly can - and often will - get caught in. The up-side-down style of flies often peels off, and can let you fish places that is impossible with traditional flies. In this video we have skilled danish flyfisher and flytyer Morten "Coastfly" behind the vice to tie his version of the classic bonefish-fly The Crazy Charlie, but in a flatwing-version in his unique style with not tying in the hackles, but using UV-resin as attachment.

Thread: Monofilament nylon
Weight: Silver bead

Ingenious. I always appreciate your craftsmanship. Will tie. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing! Awesome looking fly!
Watching you tie, I found myself smiling. Nice fly maybe I will try it on the Sea Bass next summer.
Tying "upside down" isn't so bad. You just have to keep in mind that the hook point will attack your fingers/thread/materials at every opportunity. 🙂 Interesting fly! Thanks!
What size hook is this tie in the video?
