- In this episode I am riding to Kasane in Botswana. After an amazing time with wild elephants I continue my way, but petrol stations are quite far apart in Botswana. When an entire town is out of petrol, even with my extra fuel bladders, I am not going to make it all the way to Kasane..

Wrong, the world is full of indifferent people with the extremes of good and evil that are glaringly obvious as they stand out from the masses that like to "Blend in" like in a herd.
Those that are wired to render assistance do so, those that don't will be oblivious to the plight of an individual. Typically they are the ones that drive by whilst those that help will pull over and try to assist.
Occasionally you get that one that goes the extra and then more.

My faith in humanity has been restored. This gentleman is a true legend. He went above and beyond what a normal person would do. I would of done exactly what he did for you, helping others is what life should be about. There’s no need to repay because he knows at some point you will do the same for others. Being in a town which becomes low or empty of petrol can become a bad situation quickly. The gentleman with the petrol and food was extremely helpful and caring.

At five, she claims she wants to follow in your bike treads and roam the earth as you do. Whether she ever does or not, I thank you for the many happy hours you've shared with us. She remembers you in her nightly prayers.

This episode reminded me of a trip I made through Ireland in the 1970s, My van broke down and a passing mechanic on a motorcycle stopped to help, he went off, bought the new part, came back and repaired the van, No charge and also took us back to his mothers house, she cooked us a big breakfast. The world is full of nice people.

Agreed. My wife and I were helped by a good samaratin Frenchman in Paris and another good samaratin Chinese lady in Shanghai, when we were abroad in 2009. The memories of the kindnesses of strangers remain close to the surface in my mind; I don't know why that is the case, but when I think of them it warms my heart.

Oh I really like your videos and you are pretty fearless. I have been riding for years and nothing like this. I think I would be worried some town would hang me in a tree for riding an orange bike. Run the highest gear you can, without the engine labouring and light throttle and stay on tarmac roads. Off roading will substantially increase fuel consumption.

Let me tell you a tale of a woman from the Netherlands riding a motorbike solo across Africa who nearly ran out of gas. She was helped by a man from Sri Lanka who now lives in Botswana who filled up here tank for free! This is the story of the real people who live on this wonderful planet! Not all that nonsense on the TV where they try to keep us all afraid of each other. This was such an inspiring video! Thank you for making them and allowing me to ride along!

This episode brought me to tears a few times. From the giraffes and elephant on the side paved road to the Lodge with a lake that u stayed in, soooo close to the Ellies. What a view. Noraly you met an road Angel, that was amazing, but most probably it's your own kindness which pays back to you.
Yes, Demi from Sri Lanka came to the rescue, with humble humanity. But even more impressive was the drive of Noraly to just go on, the long empty road, elephants roaming, no place to sleep, just giggling about her completely impossible situation. In the absolute acceptance of the situation and simply believing that it would work out OK. No panic but hardly sarcastic remarks and giggles. Hoping to do the impossible or somehow run into some other solution. Are we amazed that she did it again? Hardly, despite the odds.
