- • Do Not Compare Good Works I know of many cases involving persons who reluctantly left a promising career path for, “ful time ministry,” because they thought it was the more God honoring thing to do. That if they abandoned what was most natural for them, a thing they were affirmed in by others, and that they genuinely enjoyed, all for the sake of something more, “spiritual,” that God would be extra pleased. That He would see their sacrifice as the more, “holy” option. Yet, biblically, that is not the case at all. Diverse expressions of our vocations are necessary and God honoring. Do we need persons sacrificing and embracing more complicated task, yes. Nonetheless, one should not succumb to that false value system. That wrongfully says, leave your nursing career or your medical program to become a Christian rapper or a minister, because it is the, “real work of God.” One should be free to serve as a pastor or a poet. Just sat down to pray and found this notification as i was praying. Total conviction of a part of a conversation i had last wed with a pastor. I didn't notice at the moment but i let some of my old resentment towards the brick and motor Churches almost belittle that part. When I know it's equally as important as the great commission.
I didn't speak ill of them, but mentioned how i didn't meet the holy Spirit in a building, and reference how the baptist church i grew up in failed to teach free will of man, an human nature.
I need to let any grievances towards modern church go, and be more careful when talking about the body of Christ.
Thanks for this video. It gave me the conviction I didn't know i needed. And now i know what ill be praying over tonight. ❤
