  • Dad got drunk and ruined her 18th birthday. So Megan is mad. She splashed her father with chemical drain cleaner in a fit of anger, resulting in severe burns that ultimately led to his death.
But here’s the twist. Megan says she didn’t do it. Not, she didn’t do it on purpose, but she did not do it at all.
Could that be true? What do you make of this case?

Okay, let's review this: she refused to go home when she was talking to her former friend, who was trying to get it through her head that her dad was suffering from Third degree burns all over her body, she laughed at her foster brother when he was talking to her on the phone, and NOW she says she didn't throw the Lye and water at her father?! Okay...
Well, if it wasn't (supposedly) her, then who did it?! Here were only two occupants of the house. Is she saying that her dad was so smashed, that he did to himself? Is THAT her story? Seriously?!

Ok I’m just sayin… I had no idea what lye was and I’m 37. I’ve heard of it but never knew exactly what it was, and sure af didn’t kno it would do that when mixed with powder. Also-- if the house was like hoarders, she prob had no idea what she was picking up to throw. And the dad did say she has never thrown stuff at him ever before. Not defending her at all. And by using Occam’s razor that is the most likely scenario. However…… with the dad being sooo drunk like that, why is it so out of the realm of possibility that he spilled stuff on himself. Again, I’m not defending her. I’m just sayin. I hate when everyone talks sooo horribly and acts as if they kno exactly what happened in cases like this when-- how many people have been convicted of crimes they didn’t commit? How many people have even been executed just to find out posthumously that they didn’t do it? Just saying people--none of us were there. And how many people just like this, would talk shit on those innocent people, when meanwhile they didn’t even do anything! Me personally, I just wouldn’t wanna do that. ✌🏽

Well, the only thing I think for sure is that she didn't know what she threw and when people told her Dad was sick she probably assumed he was drunk and they were overreacting. I probably would too. Drunks are masters of manipulation. Yes, I have relatives like this. However, there are some questions - why was something like that out in the open (it was a hoarding situation so that's probably why), how many other people had access to the house (older son for sure) and why was she allowed to live with her Dad if the Mother knew the situation going on in that house. The more I think about it, the more I think that the daughter was probably not responsible, even if she did throw it. She should not have been living there and the product should have been placed inside a cupboard. The lady may be a brat, but this was set up by the adults in her life who never took responsibility for her well being.

Your hair looks amazing Amy! And as always your storytelling is superb! 💖
Wow. Pretty wild story! I think there's a layer of complexity that is not easily discerned completely. A father who is an alcoholic and hangs around naked in the living room, okay, with a blanket, but known to be naked. We don't know if he got to the blanket naked. Or if he got to the couch wrapped with a blanket and nothing else. But there's two things that are highly inappropriate.
Also, the ex-wife said he was a hoarder, which the daughter didn't mention. However clearly she wasn't comfortable celebrating her 18th birthday party at her father's home, she had rented a hotel room. Whether or not she knew what was in the white bottle and the nature of the powder, is not clear.
Did she know that the combination of that powder and water would turn into a caustic thing that would burn her father? I guess I'm kind of questioning that part. I'm doubting that she knew exactly what she was doing. The fact that her dad didn't even realize that he was burning is pretty mind blowing. He must have been wasted. Sitting there with a bottle of hard spirits.
Furthermore I completely doubt her denial at the end of the video. She was the only one home with her father. And I'm curious about the assertion that she was excited to move in with her father and kind of skeptical about that other than possibly she had more freedom to do whatever she wanted to at her dad's. Whatever reason a kid chooses to move from one parent to the other usually they have a better relationship with the parent that they choose to move over to.
But how would the daughter think that her alcoholic dad who hangs around on the couch naked, and is a hoarder would be a good parent to live with? Interesting that she obviously had at least one friend that she felt comfortable to go into the house to try and get the credit card information. But I think that there are a lot of details to the story that we don't know about, that have to do with the parents relationships to one another and to each of their kids.
I think that the sentence was too light given the outcome of her actions. Unless it was prosecuted as involuntary manslaughter. I do think that her letter penned with the help of Crumbley mom, helped her a whole lot better than anything Jennifer Crumbley said in her trial. LOL!

Makes me wonder what kind of behaviour went on while she was growing up!

Thanks Amy😊 Please tell Chris hello 🤗

I’m right with you. Also, It sounded like she was frustrated because he was a drunk and she was being raised in a house full of garbage and filth and it was her birthday and he couldn’t even get off the couch because he was too wasted to take her for her birthday present. He really had no right having custody of her. I’m fairly positive she had no idea what she was tossing on him. She did it out of frustration and likely she was hurt too. Sad all around

Megan, at the time, was upset because her father missed her 18th birthday. It didn't click to her that he had died, and if he was so drunk, he didn't realize he was burning up, then he was too drunk.

It seems like most people believe that anyone with any kind of substance abuse anything that happens to them no matter what it is they brought it on themselves. Real Sad

My dad was an alcoholic. Abused the shit out of my mom and my four siblings. Spent all our college money gambling, yelled and hit us. I feel very bad for this young lady. Everyone judging her and saying she has no remorse. Her brain is still developing, she was in a messed up situation. No one should have a dad like that. She needs more sympathy I am so shocked at the comments.
