    My rp 8000's have never let me down.
    Beautiful design and high torque with instant startup...
    Two play/start buttons on each deck was a big plus with me.

    There's nothing like the tactile feel of a turntable when djing. Having used MK2s for years, you learned how to deal with its shortcomings and made it work. I think great DJs are made that way. I hope to see a new level of djing with these decks. Thanks for the great review!

    a good DJ can play on any turntable or any equipment he or she has in front. I think most of y'all have been too fixated on Technics, just like the general population is fixated on iPhone vs Android...do you think other brands just exist for fun. Fuck no...they love to compete and love to beat Technics and I am sure current tables can easily be up there or even better, depending on your needs.

      but i think at techno and hip hop parties its really hard for a turntable, i would like to buy a technics but i want to try djing and its too expansive for a try i think

      FunkyDoolittle very true I was at a little not well known bar years ago in London where the lady who owned the place is friends with Pete heller and terry Farley. And one of them was there playing records on a pair of belt drive turntables. His mixing was flawless are was extremely impressed and he was having a few drinks too. Serious skills.

      Are there any technics on the market with mappable midi controls, Cue points, on the fly torque adjustment, can be used as a pseudo keyboard with all the notes, and many other features I haven't mentioned short answer is No stop fanboying for technics

  • @mrvictor83

    @deeofficial.......
    Having multiple options makes a difference during performances. Just because you feel there is no need to have multiple areas for cue points doesn't mean others won't feel the same....
    Being both the Mic Man and the DJ, there are times when I am manipulating tracks with one hand and holding the Mic in the other. Sometimes its more beneficial for me to have my hands closer to the mixer while manipulating the volume..... When I am just normal mixing without too much going on, I prefer using the cues on the turntable.....
    Now you may say, get a mic stand.... It may work for you, but for the crowds I deal with, it looks better to the audience with the mic in hand vs on a stand. Example, Rapper performing with a mic stand with his hands positioned in formal fashion in front if him.... Yes it can be done... but it would look weird.
    Since I bought the Reloops, I haven't used anything else. Technics and CDJs stay home and my Rane 62 accompanies the Reloops.
    Like AGI said, they are future proof. EVERYTHING I loved about Technics upgraded to handle the needs of today and the future.

    the reloop has only a lot of technical Gimmicks.... but the quality of the Technics is unbeatable!!
    A good DJ needs 4 things
    2 Technics Turntables
    1 analog Mixer
    and good Records

    • @djflentduncan
      @djflentduncan 10 лет назад +15

      That's what a good dj needed in 1999. Do you go to your doctor and say "a good doctor only need a stethoscopes and a reflex hammer". Or tell movie directors, "real directors only edit their movies by hand". If your answer is no what makes this art of djing different. To dj is to present a platform of art and expression. New technology broaden the scope of imagination to create new art with this music. Technics are a solid design that will stand the test of time. To be a industry standard gear is no longer acceptable. When new gear has better output, torque, and features. I ask you ***** What can you do different with two1200, a analog mixer and good records that a dj in 1999 could not do? I can answer that for you. Not much. With this technology we've moved from being niche djs (hip hop dj, reggae dj, house dj, etc) to being open format djs being able to appeal to a broader audience.

    • @1200AMBroadcast
      @1200AMBroadcast 10 лет назад +1

      DJ Flent D The latest technology makes it not a good DJ....
      reggae, hip hop, disco or techno / house or whatever- this music has been influenced by DJ with analog technology - with the latest technology you open any niche...
      the technique of the Technics turntables is unmatched to this day, not a Turntable of the modern era comes close to this reliability... -and this is proven in test...
      all good DJ in the world have at home Technics Turntables in their living rooms...

      +1200AMBroadcast Your missing THE most important part of any good Dj. SKILL!!! I've been a Dj for 30 years. You can have the best equipment made on the planet, but if you dont know how to "use" it, people are gonna be walking away. I can teach my 4 year old SON to press play on anything. and NO, you do NOT have to have 2 turntables and an analog mixer. If you have the SKILL (as I said), you can play on ANYTHING

      Most DJ's playing with the gadgets but the quality of their DJ sets is worse. Previously, the DJs have searched and played by good music. Today, most DJ's looking any Music and pimp it up with electronic gadgets.

    how is the feed back compared to the 1200? The reason the 1200 has a heavy undercoated rubber bottom is to reduce feed back at high volume level. how is that compared to the Reloop? check out this video on RUclips called. Pioneer PLX1000 vs Technics 1200. I am curious to know the feedback between the two turntables. Thanks and great video

    Reloop may have all the gadgets but will they stand the test of time like Technics have? Indeed they are a fantastic deck, but my heart always goes with Technics. For me its the simplicity and rock solid design that i like in the Technics. I will say this tho - I have owned 1210's - sold them and got the M5G's - the digital pitch control actually makes mixing slightly more difficult esp with long blends. Oh and last thing - the finish on the M5g's are incredible - Piano black with gold flake - perfect IMHO

    Stick with the 1 & 2s technics/Panasonic dropped a clanger with the design of their turntables as they are bomb proof and last forever. So when purchased, you’ll never have to replace them. That’s bad for business in the disposable consumer world we live in.

    If you mean serato yes i use it but it only provides the music , i don't cheat or rel mode beat juggle or scratch ,i take pride in my skills .Most new digital djs rely to much on serato and fancy mixers to do all the work for them that's why 80% of djs all play and mix the same .I still use my vinyl so i don't become just Another Dj .That's why a vinyl dj is 100 times more skilled than a digital dj.Pull an average dj off his wackbook pro give him a crate of records and you will see this true colors , So no preset music list and bpm numbers to make the prefect mix .If djs only care about taking the easy route ,they should just download virtual dj.Its only a matter of time when the dj5000 comes out in the future and replaces all these laptop programmed dj human robots

    Hi, is there a way i can get my rp8000 to stop like a sl1200 without the long start time?
    in other words why didn't reloop have 1 knob for start and 1 knob for stop?
    Can this be sorted out with a new firmware?
    Another performance trick i like to do is power off the deck to wind down the song but on a rp8000 the sound cuts out, im guessing this cannot be solved with a firmware update due to the problem with the way the deck is wired.
    Also, all d'js that i know use Technics SL, use there deck face to rest there finger so they can rock there finger on and off the side of the platter to temporarily slow the song down, if you try this on a re8000 you finger will just rubs on smooth metal, so i will have to make a raised platform on the side of the platter to rest my finger.... another annoying design floor imo.
    I can live with the raised platter and the sound cutting out when i twist the on/off switch but can you guys please sort the start/stop time? Thanks.

      DJ ManneY MaxZ150 Technics 1210 or 1200 any mark. Mk2 from 1975 and bomb proof mk5 from around 2000 ish. People are asking ridiculous amounts for 40 year old turntables. Crazy money for mk5s. Went into Richer Sounds and enquired about a pair of the latest released 1210s. £1200 each, but can get a pair for £1800 cash. Cheaper than what most are asking on eBay and gumtree used, without any guarantee or warranty. Buy new if you can afford to, if not wait as you will drop on if you have enough patience. Seen mk5s and mixer go for £650 not long back. Just rare. Technics will last you for LIFE! Never need replacing. A service every 5-10 years, depending on use. If anything does break its easy enough to replace and cheap enough. Hence they last forever. Your reloop or pioneer whatever very likely won’t still be functioning in 40 years. Save ya money. Buy a turntable once only. Technics the proven tried and tested work horse of nightclubs and djs worldwide. Peace

      Very true, but if you happen to own a DJ mixer that does not have cue controls, the RP-8000 is very handy to have. Not to mention, you could own a Sixty-Two and want turntables - the RP-8000 are future proof. If you switch to a different mixer without Cue Controls, the RP-8000 has you covered.

    I’m afraid, I have to disagree. I’ve been calling em tech nics for years also. As does nearly everyone here in the UK. Techniques is the correct pronunciation. Matsushita was the inventor or founder of the company. It’s a subsidiary of Panasonic. The debate can go on, and on, and on. It’s like Nike, or nikee. The latter is correct. Adidas or adeedus, latter is correct. According to the Japanese, whom make technics, which is a Panasonic subsidiary company, Techniques is correct. Qbert, Mix Master Mike & the top djs, all say Techniques. Like I said, it’s a debate that could go on, and on, but when the people that make them call em techniques, who would you listen too? Qbert, the dmc competition, Ect have always said Techniques. They’re in a far better position to know than I. So are the owners of the company. Panasonic. To be honest, I couldn’t give a shit, either way, I’ll sleep tonight. They’re the best decks ever made, full stop. If in doubt, email Technics parent company in Japan, Panasonic for clarification. All the top djs, whom have been affiliated with the dmc competition and winners of dmc gold decks, mixers, ect, all pronounce It Techniques. They’re better placed to know than I. Like I said, I’d been mispronouncing it for years, too. I live in UK, where ALMOST EVERYONE says Technics. Technics parent company, and representatives of Technics all pronounce it Techniques. They’re Japanese obviously, and they make it, so I’ll go with what they say. Americans all pronounce it correctly. Doesn’t matter tho, soon as u say Technics, or 1&2s, or 1210s, or 1200s, everyone knows what ya mean. Like Nike or nikee, everyone knows both, but technically, only one is correct. Nuances of interpretation and pronunciation. Peace. Oh, Just looked it up on the net, and it most definitely 💯 is Techniques. It’s pretty ridiculous to be so bothered about something so trivial, when there’s far more important things to worry about. Like health, bills, family, children, and pets, Ect. Hope this puts it to bed, once and for all. Peace from Weezy UK. Just found an old ad from Japan for Technics. They do indeed pronounce it Tech neeks. Or Tech Niques. There’s a uk advert for Technics pronounces Tech nicks, but that’s from a shop, not Technics direct. The Japanese make it, and that’s the way they pronounce it, as does every top dj ever affiliated with the Brand. Nuances of pronunciation like I said. Either way, every fucker knows what ya talking bout. Just ask for a pair of the greatest decks ever made, 1&2, 1200s, 1210scqPointless subject really. Peace

    These reloops won’t still be functioning in 45 years time like 1200s 1210s mk2s. Technics ARE bomb proof. That was the reason they ceased production. It’s bad business sense to produce an item that never needs replacing, as its fully serviceable, with easily replaceable parts. The reloops haven’t got the same build quality, or tried and tested longevity of use, and abuse, decks get being carried about, packed, and unpacked, or just hours, and hours of scratch abuse day in, day out, fe years. They won’t be virtually indestructible like Technics. Arent these nearly 10kg lighter as they’re plastic!? What happens when the midi, and or buttons pack up? New deck? Surely better to get a midi mixer or plug in?! Reloop are made in a factory in China, whom also produce almost every other turntable that’s a Technics rival. (Copy of the original technics)You’d be better off buying second hand mk2s, have em serviced, and buy a mixer/controller with all bells and whistles on. Cheaper to replace a controller than turntables. Just MHO, before someone starts sending hate. Technics are tried and tested work horses. Peace

      Nice argument but I don't know a dj alive that only buys one set of turntables for 45 years, i own 10 turntables now, 2 1210s, 2 pdx 2000, 2 reloop 8000s 2 reloop 8000 mk2s 2 St 150s they are all dope and they all feel like they are gonna last as long as I need them too, tbh out of all my turntables the 1210s feel limited and the motors feel weak because all the other have high tourqe, Technics gained the "indestructible" tag during the times when all other turntables were terrible all other turntables apart from vestax were terrible in the 80s and 90s and this is why the 1210 gained the reputation it got because everything else just died a quick death, Its not the 90s anymore and the current range of turntables available is amazing. OK you might get a bad hanpin if your unlucky but it's an easy job to replace them. The only thing that technics has over the others now is its heritage and its tonearms are the best on the market followed by the new reloop model tonarms the rest even on the the reloop 8000s are a bit shitty and have wobble issues
