This tune came into my head and I "hummed" it to Google since I forgot the name or artist and it was the first result on the search. Takes me back to NYC in the 80s, one of the DJs (KISSFM or WBLS) use to use it as background music. You can actually search a song on Google by humming it or whistling the tune. It's pretty accurate too!
Listening to footballer Ian Wright on Desert Island Disks this morning this was one of his tooooonnnss ...never heard of it before...thanks Wrighty RESPECT.... obviously a bass line junkie and likes it FUNKY ❤⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Was listening to Desert Island Disc for Ian Wright last week on BBC Sounds and he selected this tune. It bought back so many fine memories of going to Romeo and Juliet’s night club in Bristol. Two floors, pop, funk and soul downstairs and upstairs where the guys who loved to express themselves to Jazz Funk. I remember being transfixed to this tune and the guys dance to it. When music was music. I am glad I was able to bring this tune back to 2024. Thanks Wrighty…..
Starlight Rollerskating Rink in Queensway London 1980 when i was 16...Track come on and boy did i skate like it was the last day on earth. My goodness i'm now 60, still rollerskating, still moving, still dancing to this masterclass of a track...What a tune! ♥
I met my first "Love" and the mother of my only child roller skating back in 79 at a roller rink turned nightclub in Boston . Music like this would blast as we skated in was great fun . She sadly passed away at 40yrs. and at 65 I'm still going just moving a little slower🤣
My big brother introduced me to this group... Wicked tune and I can just about do my foot moves, all be it I'm not a youngster...Still feeling the vibes💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
Takes me back to happier times....far happier times....stress free times...times when minutes lasted forever...we were in love with life....Jazz funk ruled the airwaves. Cars and girls and balmy nights...we had it all....
Never actually knew the name of this song but I have it in my Book of Music all time Classic with a Vibe that makes you say I’m going to have A GREAT DAY AFTER ALL Kudos MFSB
The very first "Smooth Jazz Band" I played in back in the UK, after graduating university in the early 80's, used this groove for a piece we used on our gigs. It lends itself to all kinds of soloist improvisation sections and boy did I love giving my tenor sax a "work out" on this!
This was the intro to our night out back in 82 classic set the tone for the rest of the night 80s grooves pure gold beats anything thats going on today 61 and still got the moves
This song randomly came to my mind today and I ended up humming it into Google Song voice search and it got it right off the bat! Great tool if you haven't used it before! Takes me back to my childhood in Brooklyn! KISSFM, WBLS, Frankie Crocker! Crazy how great that time was even with the problems that existed!
I just realized about the MFSB is "Mother Father Sister Brother" cuz Gilles Peterson said that in Worldwide FM GTA Online cuz my brain is broken lol. And he's not wrong. He said: The sound of MFSB "Mother Father Sister Brother", you're listening to Worldwide FM.
Choooon! Haven't heard this in a while, even though I have it on 12" vinyl at home in amongst my 500+ vinyl collection from the late 70s thru to 90s. #JazzFunk #Funky
A top instrumental advertises itself with a signature, identifiable sound or hook, and stands out immediately. Tis song is one of them and the bass line is it's calling card. I wonder if it's been sampled yet?
Both Larry Larry Levan and Grandmaster Flowers had edit of this where they used up tempo aspect of the record the emphasis on Pistol Allen and Michael Henderson. Does anyone know who the rest of the musicians were?
Surely one of the most underrated musical masterpieces of all time this tune is life
it is what it is.
