Awesome idea!! I just used a rolled up towel behind it and held the ends in place using BBQ gloves. I then held and pressed the hat to the heat press plate (or your iron plate) from one end and then rolled to the other. Kept holding in place and then held my BBQ gloved hand tightly on top to cool it in place and wha-la... perfect solution!!
How long did you press for each rotation… for example you held pressure for 10s before rotating
I was told dealing with those magnetic clips on just magnets period will eventually mess up your heat press machine by causing it to not function correctly. That's how people heat presser will stop working eventually.
I’ve been using magnets on my presses for years without issue. I’m not sure how it would affect the functionality of a press. That’s like saying using magnets on your refrigerator will make it stop working.
Wow this helped me tons i don't have the money for the hat press and was wondering a way I can still make hats and boom you saved me!! Thank you
I’m so glad it helped, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!
I never thought of using my press this way! Thanks!
right!!
Awesome tip thank you for sharing. It looks like we use the same type of heat press. I've noticed that mine will reach the desired temperature and keeps going well beyond, even if I preset it. Have you experienced this issue?
Thanks for watching. I haven’t experienced that with mine. That sounds quite frustrating. I wonder if the control panel needs to be replaced?
wht kind of hats did you use
Awesome tip thanks for sharing!
I noticed that the hat is a 6 panel snap back with the seam in the center of the front panel. Did you have an issue with the vinyl over the seam. Have you had any issues over time with the seam?
As long as I’m using a thicker vinyl like glitter, brick or flock, it’s never an issue. These are thick enough that the seam doesn’t affect the finished product. Thin HTVs like Easyweed, SoftFlex, stretch, electric etc are going to show the seam thru the vinyl and should be avoided when pressing over a seam.
@@ElleBeeCreates That’s for the information!
WOW SO NEEDED THIS SOLUTION. My hat accessory on my heat press is awful. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching!
What size is the designs it’s self?
Yes, I returned my 8 in 1....
What a piece of junk it turned out to be.... Thanks for sharing !!!
Great video keep up the great job Merry Christmas to you and your family Ellebee creates i just subscribed
Thank you and thanks for watching. Merry Christmas
Why not just use the little tiny circuit heat press?
It didn’t exist yet when I filmed this, but you certainly could. This video is intended to show how to use your heat press so you don’t need to buy anything additional.
I have the new little cricut easy press. My problem is the letters bubbling or wrinkling a little. Should I use a lower temperature?
I recommend using a thicker HTV like glitter, stripflock or brick for hats. You won’t have that issue and it just leaves a more professional finish.
SO HELPFUL THANK YOU!
What kind of clips are those holding down your Teflon sheet? Magnetic?
Never mind lol. You just explained
Just use a 7in saucepan works great. then heat press it
You should totally make a RUclips tutorial on that for those that want to go that route! I much prefer the way I've shown here, but I'm glad you have a method that works for you.
Thank You for this!
Do you know the name of the font you use
Also what type of font was that?
its called Bohemian Typewriter. You can grab it from Dafont
Wow! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching, I hope it’s helpful!
Good method.
Genius! Ty! 🙏
What font is that first hat
Does it stay even without the pressure?
I used pressure. And yes, it stays!
Love it!!
Will using iron work
I’m sure it would!
Subscribed! You are awesome
Thanks for watching
Great video! Are those 100% acrylic hats? If not what are the best material of hats to use? Thanks
These particular hats were 100% polyester. You should be able to use acrylic fabric hats as well without issue
@@ElleBeeCreates thanks a bunch
great vid got a sub
OMG 😳 buy a hat press already!
I have one but thanks for the suggestion! Not everyone can or wants to buy one, especially those that only do a few hats a year. Slow your roll, no need to be rude.
@@ElleBeeCreates they sell for under $100.00 online. Even if you sell only 4 hats a year, it pays for itself.
@@Bobster986 not everyone wants to do that, and not everyone sells the things they make and aren’t recouping costs like that. If you don’t like the method, don’t do it, or you can offer to buy everyone a hat press since they are so cheap for you.
haha my machine also suck sh*t
that ruins the shape of the hat pushing like that, which if it was me buying the hat i wouldnt but it. I get rid of my hats the second they loose their shape. Just a little tip if your thinking about doing it this way, think about who the hats will be for, if its for someone whos not going to care sure, but if your aiming for people who wear them all the time then they will care.
I am a crafter, not a business, and most of my tutorials are aimed at crafters, to help them learn to accomplish things without having the spend $300 on a press specific for hats just to make a few. I personally hate this shape of hat and don’t normally use them, but these were done for a friend and those are the hats she ordered for me to use. She was thrilled with the outcome.
You tapped the wazoo out the hat
U sound like Ellen
what htv do you use
You can use any HTV you want, but the exact products used are listed in the video description.
