Love the channel brotha! Keep it up 🎉❤
Many thanks!!
Glad to see you back. I played one length F9’s when they first came out. I liked the hybrids a lot. I did use a standard sand and lob wedge. I should’ve stayed with them. I think at some point I’ll go back. Good luck in your journey. I think you’re on a good path.
The more I use them, the more I'm convinced that I need to swap the SW and LW for standard. It's probably different for someone swinging those clubs "full".
The first video I watched was one of you driving to the course and playing a round. I'll say they're probably my favorite! Looking forward to seeing results with the one length irons. Such an intriguing topic. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas!!
Merry Christmas to you!
Glad to see you back! I enjoyed seeing you back on the course, even though it looked pretty cold to be out!
I enjoyed filming this one, but that's not always the case. If I can do more like this, I will.
Glad your back!! Very interested to see your results!! Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!🎉
Same to you and yours, Paul!
Thanks!
Very welcome.
I've played Cobra One-Lengths for about 5 years now. No problem with gaps between clubs. I will never go back to standard length clubs. Only problem was with the Hybrids. They are very short for a hybrid, and distanace suffers. Had to purchase regular length hybrids.
You could try some lead tape on the one length hybrids. I don't know from experience, but I've heard a bit of tape can help distance.
Really enjoy your channel more than anything. Happy Holidays to you and your Family, keep up the awesome videos. 🙏🙏
That's far too kind, and same to you and yours.
I switched to the cobra ltdx one length irons a year ago. I recommend you get yourself the one length hybrid. Good to see you back on the course!
I will be looking at topping out with the one length hybrids soon.
As a new golfer i went for Pinhawk 4-LW while also getting their single length 3 and 5W AND got a single length driver. The gapping is pretty spot on at 10-12m and i have no problems at all with the wedges. I just choke down for pitching and chipping. My only issue with them is I get less distance overall, although that might have something to do with the 35deg 7i or that they're made to my height which is 1/2-1inch less than other sets.
It definitely has made me learn golf a lot quicker doing this as on the range every swing translates to 10 of my clubs
The single length driver is a tough one for me to wrap my head around. It's the same as your 7 iron length, like all the other clubs?
@GolfTestDummy oh no its the same as my 5w. Not sure I think it's a good idea though if I'm honest since I hit a full size driver the exact same but longer 🤷🏻♂️
I’ve been using one length irons for about 6 years now. When I pick a set of variable length irons it feels foreign to me now. I currently use Sub 70:699 single length irons. They seem pretty good. Good luck hope you become one us one length players. You are correct the wedges are a bit challenging to get used to.
So far, so good. For me personally, the length didn't take much getting used to. It's just the getting used to new irons period, haha.
Mornin’ Sunshine! Great video. Good information. Hope all is well. If you ever make it to Austin, bring your clubs, golf is on me
Good morning! Thanks a bunch.
I tried the one length Sterling irons several year back that Tom Wishon had a hand in and loved them , until I got to 9-LW the the one length and loft got all messed up as all I did was pull or pull hook the ball off the planet , went back to my fitter and we couldn't get the clubs bent flat enough to make them work. Maybe I should have just cut the shafts down and played them at regular length !!
I am not saying they are bad clubs or anything , they just didnt fit my swing or game , Som really like them !
Yeah, and that's kind of what I mentioned in the video. That Cobra has really been the tip of the spear, and seem to have it more perfect than others.
I use the jumbomax grips.. I built my set of single length irons. I used Cobra forged tec copper heads with graphite design TOUR AD DI 6X shafts. I'm happy with this set-up
I need to go to Jumbomax. Such a comfy grip.
Nice to see you out there and on cam old man. As far as judgement goes, I'm more jealous since if I could get away with it I probably would. I hope that you were having a better time than it looked like but the scoring is pretty darn good for the circumstances. I thought your swing looked generally pretty consistent and with nice rhythm. I would speculate that with your latest motion which looks pretty consistent in the upper body movement department and with your wrist challenges, that those would be a really good choice for you.
I'll be interested in your overall experience with the one lengths since I haven't heard much about them from a playing standpoint apart from Bryson. The early returns look pretty good though; nice rhythm and more greens in challenging conditions sounds very promising. I used to eat the cold for breakfast but at this age, it's probably a bit more of the other way around so I feel ya on that one. Happy Holidays to you and yours. Cheers.
Haha, yeah, the cold locks me up more than it used to. Time will tell if the consistency is there and if it adds up to lower scores over all.
GTD good to see you back and I understand the lack of on course videos and anyone who’s ever made videos on the course for a channel feels your pain….as they say
I’m a big fan and have a set of one length clubs for the same setup and it does make a difference but a good one … for me
I’m playing with the same Titleist ball and love them and not only just for the cold weather but in the warmer days …. They have a compression rating that works year round…can’t beat that
Us southern boys and girls play year round but still the colder days you do have to adjust with the club selection and ball but…. We’re still playing
Welcome back GTD
👍⛳️👍
Many thanks, Steve!
Steve, are you still doing channel lock, sure miss your videos. Chad I didn’t see any painful cold weather mishits, great to see you back
Yes sir I’m still a Locker and that will never change and I got some good news from JH…. he said he will be back on his practice tee after Christmas for more Channel Lock
Thanks for your comment 😊
Hope you’re enjoying Cardinals during this warm spell. A bit foggy at the moment but should clear by later in the day
I am not usually lucky enough, haha. It'll be down to a low of 18 this weekend, and that's my day.
Never tried one length but I play wedges and irons +2" even though my measured specs are stock. I do it to get E1 - E3 swing weight with graphite shafts and jumbo grips. My fairways are short 1/2" at E1 swing weight. Usually outplay my buddies by 4 or 6 strokes.
Heavy sticks, but that weight is probably more stable.
@@GolfTestDummy Heard back in the day that standard irons were D5 with 130g steel shafts. All blades too. So my E1 with 85g Steelfiber shafts should be similar. But this might mean the current industry standard is all wrong but I think many golfers already know that.
How cold was it?
Started out at 37 I think, which isn't awful by itself. But the breeze was like a razor.
@ I’m from So Cal. To us that’s polar bear season
Yep, even Tom Wishon acknowledged that a lot of one length users played better using their traditional length wedges.
For me, with the wedges, the length doesn't bother me. It's the weight.
haha before clicking i wondered if you'd go one length. I bought rad speed OL a few years ago. Best thing I did, hope you enjoy.
So far, so good. Lots of people out there paint a bleak picture of them, but I'm not seeing it so far.
I tried the hybrid single length and I noticed it wanted to launch low, which apparently is the issue with some single length builds.
That's true that some models do have pressed lofts, and the lower CG is supposed to offset that. However, everybody is different and some people hit it higher or lower naturally. Sometimes, a shaft change with a lower kick point can get you height, and also, using a different ball can yield some results.
Liked subscribed rang the bell ! We play the money game at 8AM tomorrow gonna be 41 probably not many players lol
There's a money game on Fridays? Man, I never really run into people out there because I try to get the first tee time on a weekend day, so I guess I'm out of the loop, haha. Thanks so much for the like and subscribe. I hate asking for that stuff.
Another good thing about the weather Chad, the course is quiet, it's beautiful, it's calm and peaceful. Interested to see what you think about the one length irons, I will follow your experiences 🏌️👍
You're spot on. Totally agree.
If you were not going to get fit, those are not the ones .
As time passes, if I see some holes or issues, I'll get them tweaked.
It's cold and windy sure, but why aren't you walking? Golf is a walking sport bro! Plus you stay warmer, which is a good thing for you soft Southerners.
My knees are always screaming after I walk. It's just never worth the next 2 days of suffering.
@@GolfTestDummy fair enough. Being 55 myself, I use golf for a variety of reasons. To golf, ya gotta have your mind straight. To walk an 18 hole round here in Colorado absolutely kicks your ass and that's what I appreciate about it. I lean into the pain and have forged myself into a more sturdy guy as a result and can't help but preach to everybody that walking is the way. So please forgive me for being pushy :)
Good morning Chad
Let's freaking go 🏌️
Good morning! Ready to rock.
