Press T on your keyboard.
You can also edit that in attributes editor or channel box

after connect and adding five segments you used vertex and scale them to fit but when I do it after selecting those vertices it scales the whole object not the selected once. plz tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Reset your scale tool, also set your selection to world
